Super convenient location & parking, met at the door with a warm treatment for hands, offered infused water or tea, appointment began immediately with Nessa (who was very pleasant & helpful), and the precision haircut was preceded by a scalp & shoulder massage with aromatherapy.This place thinks of everything - even a little stool to support my feet for the shampoo. This website made me stop writing my review before I was finished telling you all that after I told Neesa to do an undercut, where my short hair will curl under in the back, instead, Neeson simply cut a straight line off the tiny length and failed to do an undercut. Neesa tried to overcharge me three different ways, then failed to do the haircut I asked for. And no, the manager was never available. They never are. When it was time to leave, I couldn't leave because there were two men hanging around the door and they looked dirty, menacing, dangerous, and I was afraid of them. I remained inside for several minutes until the men left. Not a safe neighborhood. I will never come here again because of the multiple ways they come up with for charging you more than you expected or agreed to, the fact that I didn't get the cut I asked for, and the unsafe neighborhood. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. 1. A service which was supposed to cost me $295 currently is costing me $1000. I was checked out with the wrong salon service, I was told I would get a refund (still waiting). That was 300.00. Then I had to pay for MY service, which-with tip came to $380. So now my account is down $680. For some reason, the salon has placed an additional hold on my account of $380.00, despite the fact that the original payment has been made and cleared. Now I am out $980 for a service which should have cost $380. When I called to address this, initially I received a bad attitude from the person who answered the phone. She kept stating "there's nothing we can do, it's your bank" without acknowledging that we were in this mess because of a company error. I called my bank which assured me that the bank was not holding the funds, but Casa Verde was. When she finally listened and let me explain I was told that it was a "merchant" issue and that they would call the merchant. This was at 10am. At 11:30 I received a text message saying "we are working on this for you." And no phone call after that. It is now 3pm. I called the salon, as I am still out the $680. They screened their calls and didn't pick up (I have a Massachusetts number so it's pretty easy to identify) but sent me a text "thanking me for my patience." 2. My hair is orange. I asked for blonde. It is orange. It is the holiday weekend. I have now spend almost $1000 on hair which is orange. I was told that they would fix it for me NEXT WEEK because my stylist didn't have availability. How about this-how about you ask the client when they can come in and you find an employee to fix the hair. Nope. Not Casa Verde Salon-they will charge you three times for your service and won't inconvenience themselves IN THE LEAST to ensure that their final product is satisfactory. Did they offer an apology? No. Did they offer compensation? No. Did they offer free service? No. Oh wait, the girl at the desk tried to act like it was a gift to fix my hair for free. It's not free. I asked for blonde hair. I showed pictures of the hair tone I wanted. It's not a kindness to have to drive back in, waste gas and time to have the service I should have had the first time. I've been a loyal customer of Casa Verde Spa for over a year. It is a higher end salon and I pay about $75 before tax for a haircut. I happily pay it every time because of the experience and quality I get here. To begin, when walking in, I am greeted by a receptionist. They verify my appointment and am given the choice between water and tea. Additionally, I am asked if I want a warm towel to relax. My hairstylist, Cayla, is very friendly and professional :) She always makes me feel comfortable and confirms exactly what I want before beginning. After my haircut, she blow-dries it and always styles it nicely. While getting my hair done, another employee comes to schedule my next appointment and I am given an appointment card. Additionally, I receive text message reminders prior to my appointment. When checking out, the receptionist asks how everything was, accepts payment, and confirms next appointment. Additionally, they have a a variety of products to buy. This ranges greatly from hair, makeup, and home aesthetic products. Again, on the pricier side, but you do get quality. I'm extremely disappointed with the beginning and end result of my visit and haircut with Natalie. I've been in search of a new hairdresser. I took my chances with her because of the person who initially set me up said she was one of the best. What I asked for was not what I received. The beginning of my introduction and all the way through my time with Natalie was a very unsatisfying experience. She was not very friendly and made me feel very uncomfortable. As I went into great detail of how I want my hair cut and how I blow dry my hair, she seemed annoyed by this. She is a very unprofessional hairdresser. I had to go home and wet my hair and blow it myself to see how the hair cut came out. I am so unhappy!!!! I couldn't tell you what kind of haircut this is...unbelievably horrible. I went to Casa Verde years ago and had excellent experiences. Again, moving back to Albuquerque I thought I'd try it again. I came into a consultation to go over the color I wanted and was given a price. I scheduled my appointment. I came back for my appointment and their seemed to have some difficulty with the color matching. After the Stylist and her Supervisor went over everything was done at first it seemed to look good. After I got in Natural light I could see my hair was two different colors not matching my lower part of hair to top and my hair was a reddish color when it was supposed to be blonde. At first I did not see this until I got home . I was upset because I came into a consultation and a supervisor also helped my stylist. I did not want to go back because I would not trust their work as I did before. I also paid a high price to get my hair done. I was not impressed with the Professionalism at Casa Verde that day with these ladies unfortunately. I did not have a good experience there and have never had my hair turn out like this! I would be careful to make sure you get an experienced stylist.... and maybe get a sample of your hair color. read more

I am in my early sixties, so I have been getting my hair cut in salons for more than 40 years. I have never had such a horrible experience as I did when I went to Casa Verde! I had extensions in my hair for about six months, so during that time, I didn't get my hair trimmed except on top. Once I got tired of the extensions and had them removed, I decided to go to a "real" salon to get my hair shaped up. Usually I go to Great Clips, and I've always had good experiences there, but I thought I would treat myself and try out a real salon. I imagined how fun it would be to have a stylist at a salon look at the shape of my face and recommend what type of hairstyle would look good on me. Well, I regretted it immediately, and that fantasy vanished the moment I met my hairstylist! The young woman who was going to cut my hair asked what I wanted. I explained to her that my hair had been under extensions for six months, and I had had my hair trimmed only on top during that time, so I needed to have the longer length blended with the shorter length on top so I wouldn't have a "mullet." Well, she ran her fingers through my hair and said disdainfully, "Yes, your hair IS practically a mullet. The top is SO short. It's going to take a really drastic trim to blend it all." I told her I understood, but I really didn't want a drastic blending because it had taken me years to grow my hair out to shoulder length. I explained that I always had a short pixie cut when I was growing up, and for most of my adulthood, so I wanted to keep some of the length. I asked her if maybe she could recommend a plan to do a little blending over time. She got argumentative with me and reiterated how horrible my hair looked and how there was such a drastic difference between the short and long layers. I asked her if she could do some layering or something. She didn't hear me; she kept going on and on about how horrible my hair looked. Her comments were insulting and hurtful. I was in tears and was about to leave. So then she left and brought over her manager, a young woman who was even younger than her but equally rude. Like a parrot repeating the conversations it hears, the manager picked up my hair, again disdainfully, and repeated what the stylist had said--that the top was SO short and that my hair indeed was a mullet. Satisfied that her manager had backed her up, the stylist said to me smugly, "I don't think you are ready for a haircut." By this time, I was really in tears, and I came soooooo close to walking out. I wish I had. But, not wanting to cause a scene, I stayed, and she did a halfhearted trim, for which I paid waaaaaay too much money. This was the worst experience of my life in terms of getting my hair cut. A few weeks later, I went back to Great Clips and asked the stylist if she could blend my shorter and longer lengths. She said yes with a smile and did so expertly, compassionately, and without argument--for about one-fourth the cost. read more

When I questioned the cost another stylist came out with a price chart to show me the cost. They made me feel like it was my fault for the error. No one ever tried to make it right. My cousin's wife usually goes here and loves it. I had a coupon for a full face wax (or a half leg wax) and an aromatherapy treatment (which they let me use in the same day). The aromatherapy was so relaxing, almost like a massage and I could pick from the scents that I wanted- all natural like Aveda usually does. I didn't want it to end and it was hard getting up afterwards. I traded in the wax for just an eyebrow wax. Normally, my skin is pretty sensitive but only came out with a little bit of redness due to the lavender. However, I don't think the wax results lasted as long as they usually do. 3 things I don't want to encounter with an up-close salon treatment: OPH (other people's hairs), fluorescent lights, and cigarette smoky hands. 3 stars for same-day booking, friendly staff and no-sting vegetable based lash tinting, but laying down on a sheet that's a couple hours overdue for a change doesn't set the right tone for service, and holding my breath to stave off a smell that takes me back to my grandpa's chain smoking days definitely doesn't seem very...Aveda-ish. They are not pushy- just really thorough. It could come across as over-marketing, but with so many salons around, this system avoids the hit or miss and seems useful. I went to see April for a haircut and she did such a wonderful job! This place was very calming and relaxing. April listened to my concerns and wants and even showed my a styling trick (which I was actually able to replicate at home). She also directed me toward a shampoo and conditioner that was far more appropriate for my hair type. The hair spray she used was awesome as well so I walked away with a small bottle of that as well. Another very nice thing about this salon is that you also have the option of text message reminders for when you have an appointment. I liked the fact that it was super easy to get there and that there was an abundance of parking spaces. The price of the haircut was very reasonable and I was also willing to buy products because I didn't feel like the cost of the cut broke the bank. She took the time to listen to my ideas and expectations during the consultation and then custom mixed the perfect auburn for my skin tone and style. Both Diane and Selena, a new stylist who assisted with my color, made the entire experience fun and enjoyable. Definitely not a place where you'll have the awkward silent stylist, they were both funny and engaging. They take the time to make the client feel pampered and cared for, with a makeup touchup before I left and the products I wanted packed up perfectly for me before I even reached the front desk. Came in with long hair wanting a trim and touch up on color. Came out with a horrible cut and I say a cut because Dena who never listens to the customer always takes it upon herself to do what she wants. When I saw that she took off 4 inches I was taken back by her lack of not doing what I asked for. Not once did apologize for cutting off that much until she finally heard in my voice after the third time what she did wrong!! Finally she admitted cutting my hair when I never wanted it cut and to make several excuses over and over why it is okay that it's just hair it will grow back!! Who in their right mind makes excuses for their mistakes to sugar coat the situation!! Then, when my hair was dried it was even worse to see how terrible she cut it!! Even my husband didn't know how to describe other than it was a crappy hair cut and color. I went back after speaking to Donna the owner and she too was shocked at the bad hair cut was that she paid me with gift cards to have it fixed somewhere else knowing I would never do business at this salon ever again!! If you want to relax and indulge yourself, Casa Verde Spa is the place! Jack is amazing and he addressed all the strained areas of my back with a deep tissue massage. I've only had the massages and waxing services but from having lived in Los Angeles for five years, this spa compares to a high end west coast spa! Friendly and clean environment. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I hope they can learn from it. My first haircut here was fantastic, pity i was never able to schedule with her again ( can remember her name), second one was OK. But the third time was yet another girl ( feel bad using names, she is very young ) , was my daughter's turn. Clippers on the sides, color on top. No only seemed the cut was done with her eyes closed , but the color was also very badly done. My daughter being 17 was embarrassed and said nothing. I started going to Casa Verde about the summer of 2013. The hair stylist I see, Emilee, gives a great haircut. In addition to giving good haircuts, she makes you feel very welcome and is very friendly. While that doesn't make a great haircut, it definitely helps the experience. Best thing about the haircuts is that they are easy to style, and they grow out very good as well. In the past, at other salons, I would get a good looking cut and look good for that day, but after time, it was apparent the cut wasn't meant to last. With Emilee's cuts my hair grows out, as it should, but the hair looks great all the way until my next appointment with her. Overall, Emilee, is a 5-Star experience. This salon is the best in town! I've always been afraid of getting my hair cut/dyed and Natalie went above and beyond to trim my hair and keep my length exactly how I wanted! She was easy to talk to and guided me every step of the way. For color I went to Bree who also exceed my expectations!
