Our service was horrible. We watched everyone around us get their food before we got ours. Our server never checked on us. There were three tables seated after us and the servers were very attentive. We received our salads after The three tables received their food. My suggestion is to ask the servers to give the same service to everyone. Your tip was a reflection of your service. I would not recommend anyone to go to this restaurant when visiting from out of state or if you live in state. read more

Bar review only: The staff was great! And I'm guessing that the food is essentially the same as the catering we used which was good. I stopped in for an after dinner drink and my Hot MiL (yes I hate the name too) was delicious. I guess the person who selected the name assumes only men drink bourbon. Nope. I knew it was going to be a little sweet with the addition of 2 orange liquers but it was really tasty. As always with hotel bars the prices were a bit high. But service was on point. read more

At first, I didn't realize that this was inside of a hotel, and while I usually only go to hotel restaurants when I'm a captive buyer due to travel and exhaustion, this one I explicitly chose because of its location and high ratings. I wasn't disappointed. The dining area is a mix of tables and couches and chairs, and the short food menu is more than enough. I can't remember what I ordered, because I was rather enamored with my now-fiance (this was our first date, just before the COVID pandemic came to Texas in March 2020). I do remember taking the server's word for what was particularly good and not being disappointed. I will definitely go back there when things clear up a bit. read more

Horrible. Flying nats everywhere indícate an unclean bar. My drink was poorly made and tasted bad. There is no sanitation between drinks either. Bar area doubles as an office space with stacks of paper work or notes I'm not sure. Dishwasher racks of glasses sit atop bar space. I'm pretty impressed. Easily the best restaurant in an embassy I've run across. They have a dozen local craft beers on tap. Nice back bar and the food is very good. They style themselves a gastropub and I think that's about right. During my stay I had the French onion soup which was as good as I've had anywhere. The turkey sandwich that I highly recommend. It was astonishingly good. And the burger which was well made and tasty but not spectacular. The lobster Mac and cheese and the fish and chips looked amazing and were reported by others to be excellent. I was also impressed with the service. The bartenders do a great job of keeping everybody taken care of in a friendly and personable manner. Highly recommended. This restaurant is located within the Love Field Embassy Suites hotel and, about a year ago, they overhauled their menu. Now, instead of catering to the business traveler with an affordable menu of good food, they've attempted to create an upscale menu with prices to match. They failed. Miserably. While I've not seen anything wrong in the restaurant, health wise, the menu is limited and not in a good way. You'll see many hotel menus with small menus because they don't want to promise more than they can deliver. This menu promises big and under-delivers. The menu says broccolini, but half the time you'll get broccoli. The fish and chips are almost always soggy. The steak is the quality of Sizzler or Outback Steakhouse, but the price of Ruth's Chris or Silver Fox. Sure, like any hotel, they're able to get you a halfway decent burger or quesadilla, but at much more than the price you would pay elsewhere. Luckily, the hotel has a shuttle to take you down the street to a little restaurant row with about 20 decent choices of restaurants to eat at. Oh, and after months of Tap and Tavern not having beer taps, they now have beer taps and a decent selection of beer. That and the excellent staff are a couple of great reasons to venture down there if you're staying in this hotel. read more

I went here to try their Nashville Hot Chicken. The crust and spices were good, but the chicken was pretty thin and scarce. I downed it with a stout beer which was good. Bartender was nice but she got my order wrong the first time and I had to wait another 15 minutes for my food to come out . I'm sure this doesn't happen often. To sum it up I came out paying $29 including tip for a mediocre Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and a glass of beer. read more

Well we were highly disappointed, I ordered the BLT witt Mayo only as it came with mustard and mayo. My wife ordered the prime sirloin I think it was. Nowhere on the menu did it mention sauce, just peppercorn. Nor did it mention it came with broccoli. She ordered it cooked medium but it was brought out medium well. Our server or any other server NEVER came to ask us how our meal was or if it was correct. It was NOT worth the $70 including tip we paid for it!!!! I can make better at home. We were NEVER offered refills on our drinks. They need a new chef and manager!!! This place is a place that tries to be upscale but but in reality serves bar food with UPSCALE restaurant places. I haven't given a one-star review in a long time and it just hurts my heart to do this because I really wanted to like Tap and Tavern.This bar is located inside of the Embassy Suites hotel so I'm sure they get a lot of business from the guests at the hotel. It's a pretty nice bar, spacious with plenty of tv's and tables to dine and just hang out and catch a game or SportsCenter. The menu is pretty short and to the point - a few appetizers, soups/salads, burgers and entrees to choose from. We ordered the habanero chicken wings for an appetizer and they were pretty good, Rod and I almost killed ourselves by daring each other to take a bite out of the pepper that accompanied the wings. Needless to say we won't be doing THAT again lol... For dinner I ordered the buffalo chicken cobb salad and Rod had the ribeye steak. Presentation was great, it looked good. However, that's where things went south. On my first bite I noticed there was something.......tugging....from my mouth to the salad bowl. With my hand I found what it was - the longest piece of hair ever. I mean it was intertwined in the salad and the chicken. It took everything in me not to lose it. I spit out my food and called the waitress over - all while still holding on to this piece of hair - she came over and I politely handed her the piece of hair that was in my hand (and still intertwined into the food in the bowl). Her shock and horror said it all. 'Would you like to order something else' she asks me. *super duper side eye* Absolutely not. Meanwhile, my husband is enjoying every bite of his ribeye. *another side eye* The waitress called the manager and they comped my meal (not like I was going to pay for that ANYWAY) and gave me a free dessert, which was pretty nice, however I still will not be returning (at least not to eat) here. Had the "Hot" Chicken and it is a sandwich. The only thing hot about it was the pickles. They are hot ! I actually asked for more pickles and they brought them. The service was excellent and I wish I could have said the same about the sandwich.
