I took my Tascam Porta Studio One to them to get checked out. Within a couple days I was given an estimate of the repairs. A few days later the unit was ready to be picked up. After I picked up the unit and got home, I hooked it up to check it out and it played my old tapes. They still sounded good, but I noticed that they kinda sounded a little faded. I thought that maybe because the tapes are pretty old. So I put a regular tape in it and the results was the same. I played the tape in a regular cassette player and it was no problem. I got in contact with Tap and was told to bring it in. I received a call from them the next day and was told that they throughly ran some test on the unit and was told that they found nothing wrong with it. I was told that it sounded crystal clear, in fact the tech was so impressed with the sound he sent me a video of it playing. Well I guess I have to check out my wiring, lol. My mission is to re-recorded my music to my digital studio. Thank you all so much you've done a great job on my equipment. Will definitely use your services again. Tap Electronics is an authorized Pioneer Service Center so I took my vintage Pioneer 6 disc magazine cd player to them for diagnosis and repair. They diagnosed the problem as a failed laser pick-up head and said the part was no longer available. Although I am disappointed that my Pioneer cd player is not fixable, I feel that Sal and Tap Electronics was helpful and honest and reasonable priced. This is so difficult for me to write because in my heart of hearts I *really* wanted to try and write a good review for these guys, but I can only write a so-so review, and here's why: I purchased a washer dryer "set" from them. I originally was going to purchase the set from another vendor but decided on going with TAP because the price posted was excellent. Went there, checked it out in their warehouse, thought it looked great (I don't care about slight cosmetic damage... all I want is a working product), purchased it, and had it delivered the following weekend. Items worked great... However.. Call it a gut feeling, but something just didn't seem right. I did more research into what was going on because I had family visiting who could watch my young children while I looked more deeply into it... and voila: I discovered what was "wrong." The sets weren't matching at all. They cosmetically looked similar, but they were very different technologically. BUMMER! I had made my decision to purchase based on the washer because it was "direct drive," which was the type of set we wanted to buy. The dryer, unfortunately, was NOT direct drive: it was a TROMM dryer. I felt so stupid, careless, and cheated! I should have looked more closely when I was checking out the set at their warehouse! I tried researching them before I went but LG makes it so difficult to match paired models on their website. That being said... tread carefully if you purchase an advertised "set" from them!!! It was almost deceitful how they advertised and matched them together on their ad and in their warehouse. I should have known the price was too good to be true and evaluate the situation prior to visiting their warehouse... instead of figuring it all out $1200 later. I was very disappointed after making this discovery. Summary: Do your research if you buy anything as a set from them... and DIG DEEP!!! Yes, the people are very nice, but you have to be that way to sell a product. Yes, the products work beautifully... but I still feel cheated because the transaction feels dirty after the fact. I don't feel confident about doing business with them again. :( I hate writing negative reviews, but I felt the need to do this so others are warned before they consider going to TAP to purchase an appliance. read more

These guys are experts and know what they are talking about. There very nice in helping you out and full of information if you talk to one of the professional electricians. They are on top of keeping you informed by calling you and letting you know the progress of your repair. I took my Yamaha PSR 740 to get it repaired. I had some problems with the power plug being loose and cracked. It was creating a hassle trying to slightly move the power cable to get it to turn on. They fixed it with some "jumper cables" and cleansed the inside of my keyboard . I had it rushed so I had it back Before a show. Now i don't even here a past slight humm I used to hear. AMAZING SERVICE! I generally do not write reviews, but felt compelled to do so. I shipped them my $1,100 Yamaha Receiver in need of repair. UPS shipped the package and when it arrived, it was visibly damaged. UPS was not helpful in assisting with a claim; however, Sal from TAP was super acknowledging and supportive of the process. About a week later, Sal called me to tell me they would repair the damage at no charge, then make the warranty repairs and ship it back - avoiding the claim. Shame on UPS! I have recently bought a Yamaha A550 receiver that was having problem during installation; i called Yamaha and was directed to Tap Electronics. Brought the system in on weekend but was told no technician was available until the following week, i left the receiver with them and called them the following Wed for updates. Maricela was the customer service rep and she told me that the receiver was diagnosed to have a broken digital PCB board and the part has been ordered, she offered that I speak to the technician to find out more about the diagnosis, which I did. A week later, Maricela sent me an email again that the part was back ordered and told me she would update me as soon as possible of the status. Another 2 weeks gone by and again received an email from her that part is still back ordered. At which point I decided to call her up to complain about the long wait (4 weeks !!). Maricela was very patient and professional about the whole situation; she told me although there's nothing they could do from their end other than wait for the part, there is a good chance i may be able to get a replacement unit from Yamaha directly. She gave me a clear instruction on what to say to Yamaha and also gave me a direct number to bypass all the wait, and next thing I know, I was speaking to a customer service manager Ken at Yamaha. Upon understanding my situation, he put me on hold and I later found out he called Maricela to verify my situation, after 5 minute wait, Ken told me he would ship a brand new unit to me and apologize for the back order situation. I'm glad that it worked out for me at the end and I'm hoping i'll finally get a chance to try out the new A550 unit. My experience with Tap has been great, especially with Maricela, she was always helpful and proactive, with professional attitude. Horrible service! It didn't matter how many times I emailed or spoke to Sal personally on the phone, I could not get him to return my device back to me. After more than two and a half months of trying, I was forced to drive six hours to pick it up myself. After retrieving it and returning home, I discovered they failed to include my power cord! On Friday 08-21-20 I pulled off the dust cover from my Tascam Model 24 which I had bought 01-28-20. Immediately I noticed on Channel 10 my "Record" button was missing. I'd had the unit almost 7 months to the day I'd bought it. So, I searched on the internet for authorized Tascam repair dealers (I'd called Tascam first and they said it wasn't covered). I found "Tap Electronics" in Buena Park, Ca 75 miles away. I called, spoke to Sal and he said bring it in. I dropped it off Monday 08-24-20. Sal said it would be about three weeks. I had just started recording another album! So that came to a halt. When I got home Sal called and said it would be ready in a week. 2 days later, on Wed. 08-26-20, Sal called at about 8:30 a.m. and said my recorder was fixed!! Come pick it up! I brought it home, plugged it in and recorded a Vocal track on Channel 10. It sounds great and the track is a keeper. The tech who worked on this had it repaired and ready to pick up in 3 days!! Thank you Sal and the Technician who fixed my recorder and put my next album project back in business!!!! I own two Yamaha home stereo units I purchased in 1993 that have been used almost continuously. In April 2017 the receiver amplifier (Yamaha RX-460) started bussing after about an hour of play time. It's lifelong buddy a Yamaha EQ-70 and the stereo receiver were taken to Tap Electronics for an estimate for repair and cleaning. I wasn't sure I wanted to keep them or replace them with modern equipment. Tap cleaned and repaired both for $180 which is less than half of what a new setup would cost me. Since the repairs have been completed the pair are back to near constant playing with no issues so far. At Tap the units are tested to original factory settings which is want I was looking for. I wanted to use these older units because I still use a turntable and reel to reel tape players often. The newer units aren't designed for the old turntables and tape recorders. I'm hoping for another 20 years of reliable service from my Yamaha stereo units thanks to Tap Electronics. read more

My Disklavier player piano was having an electrical problem involving the midi or sound card or whatever. They not only fixed the problem, but speaking with Sal on several occasions, I found he was extremely understanding of my concerns and assured me they could handle it. When they returned the fixed unit, which required a replacement of a hard-drive as well as other work, unfortunately the thumb drive with all my stored music on it got lost. (It was not their fault.) Horrified at the thought that I might lose irreplaceable performances by wonderful musicians who had allowed me to record their playing, I called TAP and spoke with Sal. In minutes he assured me that they always keep a backup of everything and it was no problem to send me another copy of the thumb drive. He said they keep things like that "forever" so I don't need to worry if it gets lost in the mail again. A couple days later he called me back to say the thumb drive was in the mail. I recently had my old 1970's TEAC A-4300 reel to reel overhaul/repaired. It took a while to get it back because they were busy and mainly I was late in picking it up, but it was worth the wait, as I now can listen to my old tapes. This is a review for Tap Electronics' sister business, Lee Master Corporation, which shares the same address. I see Lee's posting incredibly discounted LG and Samsung appliances on Craigslist fairly often, but it seems like they have no footprint on the internet other than their infrequently updated blog. I was in the market for a new (or not-so-new) dryer so I decided to take a chance on what I was worried would be a super sketchy operation. The website says that the business name is "Lee Master Corporation," and arriving at the door, there are signs for both businesses, even though they share the same warehouse space. To my pleasant surprise, this is a legitimate business and not some crazy Craigslist scam where you're lured into an empty warehouse then robbed at gunpoint by masked thugs. Overactive imagination aside, both Tap and Lee's specialize in Korean companies' electronics. Briefly walking through Tap's office space, they had LG TVs, electric keyboards, electric drum sets and speakers (6 surround sounds for $145!) and other stuff that I couldn't identify at a glance. Lee Master Corp specializes in appliances from LG and Samsung that are discontinued, open box, refurbished or floor models at a steep discount. The owners are a really friendly Korean couple who were eager to show me their offerings, talk about features and even showed me how to install the gas line and exhaust pipe for the dryer. I ended up buying a brand new one for $450 that is going for $679 right now, then paying $50 for delivery to my house about 30 miles away. There was nothing cosmetically or functionally wrong with the unit I purchased, it was just a model that was discontinued in 2010. It seems like the higher end models are even more steeply discounted from their list prices, which was tempting, but I doubt I'd use the extra features. They also sell dishwashers, microwaves and refrigerators. The fridges were similarly steeply discounted, with a unit with a small dent in the door going for around $400 less than what you'd pay at Pacific Sales. I am willing to bet that if you speak Korean, you'll be able to get an even better deal. read more

Had my Roland XP-50 repaired by Tap. They did a wonderful job. The bench fee is $40 to diagnose the problem which you can use towards the repair. They replaced 8 capacitors , total bill $114. Not bad for being an authorized Roland repair shop. read more

I'm a working musician for a living and one of my keyboards had a couple issues. One key not working and a keypad button was intermittent. I have talked to Sal and thought we were on the same page. I had a Firewire card from my Tascam DM4800 that they were going to repair for me. The card worked in the unit, it was having problems communicating out the Firewire port which from diagnostics was going to be a cable plug or final driver stage. The rest of the card worked fine. Sal indicated he would have his technician repair the card and it would not be very expensive. I shipped it to him. Didn't back when they got it (as he said he would). Their emailing. Call and talked to Sal. He indicated he would call me back 2 months later I called them again. Now he is saying they are going to replace every chip on the card. I call that "refurbishing" not "repairing." The cost was going to be more than a new card at retail. I told him not to bother, and to return the card to me. THey then billed me for $56 to ship it back when it only cost me $20 to ship there in the first place. This is a Bait and Swap at a minimum. It is FRAUD or MISREPRENSENTATION where I live.
