Wow. I'm Mexican and going out to eat at Mexican restaurants can often be a let down. My coworkers suggested we came here and along we went. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but their carne asada tacos were absolutely delicious and authentic. The tortillas were so delicious and fresh and the carne was PERFECT. I came on a Friday and I thought about the tacos all weekend. Ask for their spicy salsa that does NOT disappoint either. Can't wait to come back here!!! read more

Service was awesome - they were super quick with pickup but served the food piping hot. The burritos are HUGE! For $17 it's totally worth it - like 2 burritos put together. I'm a little surprised by the rating of this place and Soo glad that my friend convinced me to try this place. I passed by this place so many times but have never thought of trying it but I'm glad I did. First off, you get complimentary chips and salsa with refills. The best part is that the chips are freshly made and it was soooo good. The salsa as well as it has a kick to it. You can tell that these are freshly made. We decided to try the house special which is a plate of carne asada, shrimp, mushroom, rice, beans , cheese, guacamole and some veggies along with some tortillas. The plate definitely was meant for sharing because it was huge. The meat was pretty tender and flavorful. The mushroom was really yummy and shrimp was cooked perfectly. Everything went well together. Service was really good as they kept refilling our water when they saw it was low and was friendly. Price was good based on portion. We went to dinner there last night. Service was awful. Food was awful. My son asked the lady that threw (yes, threw) our napkins on our chips for a kids menu for my grandson & she muttered something & pointed to where they were at. We eventually got one from another person on the wait staff. I ordered spinach enchiladas & I'm pretty sure the spinach was from a can & it was so dark, it was almost black. My son ordered shrimp & it was rubbery. The waiter did not come to check on us after we got our food. He was busy talking with other employees. We will never go back again. I've been coming to this restaurant for a while. It's by no means the best Mexican food out there, but for the relatively dire Mexican cuisine scene in this area, this place is pretty decent. They now offer patio seating for social distancing measure. The tables are arranged within good distances from each other. The staple (warm!) chips and salsa were served immediately. The salsa was spicy- which is to my liking! The portion was huge, it tasted great. I came here for lunch on Friday with a couple of friends. 2 of them had been here before and 2 of us had not. The two who had visited previously raved that is was great. Upon walking in we were greeted and seated right away. The place is colorful and full of life. Almost instantly we noticed how great the service was. We placed our orders just as the restaurant was beginning to fill up with the lunch rush. They served warm chips and fresh salsa just as you would expect. The salsa is a little spicy but not too much. Our food was quick and everyone really liked what they ordered. I had the fish tacos, amazing, and my friends ordered steak fajitas and 2 carne asadas. The one downside to our lunch was a dirty fork I received. I didn't notify the staff but rather grabbed another set nearby. After working in the industry I realize that this could happen anywhere but I did notice some other reviews stating the same claim so beware. The great service continued throughout our stay and really left a lasting impression. You don't get this service everywhere, including fancy restaurants in the city. What an absolute charming restaurant. The place was humming when we arrived at 7:30ish. We were greeted, seated, and our hosts spoke mostly Spanish, and the place was clean, we were brought warm corn chips, with salsa that had some bite.... Yum! We ordered, and as I took in the brightly colored surroundings I realized this place was an artists delight. Every chair, every back of the tables, the table tops .... Each one uniquely carved... yes folks you heard me.... Carved, then painted in bright sunshiny colors... what a great activity while we wait. When our plates came... they were huge and hot... and so scrumptious looking. And every bite was full of flavor. Hubby and I got two very different plates. My chicken was stocked full of peppers, onions and mushrooms in a creamy sauce. Rice and beans complimented and sent my dish to the moon!...... yum! Hubby's to was out of this world. Had not been to Tapatio Mexican restaurant in a long time and yesterday realized why. Their food must be prepared ahead of time or maybe they buy it like that, frozen and then reheated at last minute and then dollop on sour cream and guacamole. No beans and rice on the side - everything packed into one burrito, with very little meat which one would assume there would be more of considering it was labeled "carne asada". The dish we had was dry and just plain awful. I'm sure they will soon -or should - go the way of Ricardo's that was also in Factoria near Big 5. Their food (Ricardo's) lost all quality long before they went out of business and their bar was the lone attraction. We will never waste money on their food again. I come here frequently since it's very close to my work. It's a pretty decent place, the food is pretty good considering I've only ordered like two things from the menu lol. Great service as well, the waters and waitresses are very friendly. I've had a lot of horchatas before, and this place is probably the place that hasn't quite done for me. Ordered take-out on a Friday night, and the food was ready promptly for pick-up. There's a small, covered outdoor seating area out front, but it's in the parking lot, so not much of a view. Indoor looked fun, and they had an impressive display of tequilas. The habanero veggie enchiladas with rice and beans was super tasty and big enough for two meals. Actually, I think that was the case all around -- plenty of leftovers and no complaints! Their house salsa packs a nice punch (also very garlicky!). Chile relleno was also really good. Horchata wasn't as satisfying as I'd hoped. There was an odd tang to it that even rum couldn't disguise. Definitely looking forward to returning to try out more of their menu, including margaritas! read more

this place has really gone downhill. The service is deplorable. first they overcharged me and told me I would have to wait a week for my bank to give me a refund. Then I had to turn around and drive back to get the drink item. They forgot to give me and I to go order. Then when I got home, five minutes away, one item was stone cold, and the other item was completely wrong. When I called and asked for the manager, some guy claiming to be "Tony" not that I believe in for a second, yelled at me and called me a liar and told me I needed to bring back the order to prove that they had given me chicken. I give this place a 5 star because the food is amazing. It's def a little hole in the wall in the middle of a strip mall, but this is literally my son and my favorite restaurant. We come here every Friday after his practice. He loves the carne asada or the chicken enchiladas.... And I only order the carne asada. It is seasoned PERFECTLY. I love the jalapeño and green onions it comes with also. Salsa is super spicy but we are a sucker for spice, so that's a plus. The service is decent, hit or miss, most of the time great... but there's def been a few times I've left a little annoyed. LACK OF I wanted to sit on the left side of the building the woman older short woman told me it was closed. BUT I saw her seat at least 6 white people! She walked them in with a smile. She looked at me and my children with disgust. A what do you want look! She walked away from me when I had a question! The food was horrible we asked for nachos that was on the menu they brought us soggy chips with saturated cheese. The water had no ice no straws no napkins. The waitress. Was upset due to me informing them the woman's bathroom had urine all over the floor and on the toilet. I left their restaurant to go to the Sideline bar to use the bathroom. It is very sad that we were treated in this way. African American work hard just as anyone else. Our Money is green as well like everyone else. The way we were treated is disgusting just like your restaurant. Karma I hope shows you to humble yourself and treat everyone with respect dignity and good quality of food lol just as everyone else. With closure of nearby Ricardo's, Tapatio is among the last sit down dining options in Factoria. And the reason is very good food and hospitality at reasonable prices. The hands on owner is usually on sit e helping things run smoothly. We see lots of friends and neighbors eating here. At lunch there are many people from the nearby T-Mobile world HQ (think pink). The new TVs are so large that I can see what's going on from the opposite end of the room. Friday & Saturday nights feture fresh torillas made by hand in the main dining room--they taste better. Ricardo & Alejandra are 2 of the long term excellent servers. Anival is a happy hour favorite with excellent insights on food specialties and the sporting events on the BIG TVs. At times I am sure that the 2 Vitamix's in the bar are keeping time to the peppy music. Ole'. Taptatio is a dining oasis in the fast food drive-thru mayhem that is Factoria Blvd. There are several beers on tap and diet Coke comes with just the right amount of ice.
