We sat next to the kitchen on a Sunday afternoon. The place was not very busy about a quarter full. The chef put our burgers in the window and yelled order up multiple times. The burgers sat in the window for about 20 mins before being brought to our table. The table next to is sat down about 15 mins after us, we watched their food be overlooked by multiple servers as well. We watched the manager walk by look directly at the food and walk off. Food was good but bun was soggy due to time. 2 stars, just for the food and beer. 0 on the service. Better service would have equaled better food. read more

Beer, bourbon, burgers. I know, it seems like a strong combination to begin with... But I have to say Taphouse does it better than anyone in Sioux Falls. Their burgers are phenomenal (the Egg burger is messy and hard to eat, but nothing worth doing is tidy) and really the appetizers are pretty incredible as well. The bacon brussels sprouts are my favorite, but I will note that they are not always consistently prepared... (I think they were nailing down the best way to prepare them). But really it's always worth it. I'm constantly confused by people who rave about JL Beers and their burgers... I'm a sucker for a really good burger...TH41 did not disappoint! PBR burger was on point. Just the right amount of jalapeño...perfect sauce, pickle and lettuce. Duck fat fries on a burger usually ain't my style...but it sure works on this burger. So the food was 5 star on its own. Beer selection is good, but not great. Could use a few more sours. This Chicago guy found himself in Sioux Falls for work, and I was pleasantly surprised by Taphouse 41. Their bourbon selection is very respectable, and the prices are a steal. I got an expertly-made Jefferson Reserve Manhattan for cheap. If you like bourbon, this is a place for you. The burger was delicious. I went with a fried egg, bacon, and beer cheese on top. As a side I had the Skillet Brussels, which were adorned with bleu cheese and bacon. The best part was the expert staff. They know a good bourbon and were quite helpful with recommendations. It is really dark in here. It took my eyes a while to adjust. I like the atmosphere. The food is top notch. Their fries are very thin, but good. Had the hot turkey and it was amazing and plated really cool as well(see picture). A lot of food for the money($11). The burgers on the other hand can get a little speedy if you add a side. The Baja burger($9) was good, but pretty spicy if you can't handle spiciness well, and the brussel sprouts($6) were cooked very well and had great flavor. Pretty good variety of beers and bourbon as well. Overall really good experience, but probably couldn't come here too often because it is a little pricey. read more

I had the PBR burger, which comes with the duck fat fries. The burger was perfectly done-juicy, but still well done. The toppings were a great combo, the jalapenos and beer cheese sauce were a perfect combination. A classic! To drink I had the Anderson Valley Horse Tongue Wheat (Wild Ale), which to me tasted too much like apple cider. I wouldn't get it again. I also had a shot of the fantastic Thomas Handy Sazerac Rye. At $18 per shot it's expensive, but it's a great whiskey and very hard to find. read more

Stellar selection of beers and bourbons and the food is just phenomenal. I get the duck fat fries every single time I go here. I also really love the drunken mussels, which I ordered and ate entirely by myself for dinner. I did not share. I did not offer to share. I ate every last one myself and was not ashamed. I also recommend the sausage and cheese board, which comes with a variety of cheeses, meats, crackers and even some delicious IPA mustard. It is a light appetizer for 2. Make sure you get it during happy hour, as it is heavily discounted -- usually up to $4 discount. Atmosphere is cool, plenty of seating, but 21+ only, so keep that in mind. I've never tried a burger but I've heard they're great. Service has been hit-and-miss for me, but not enough to make me think negatively of the pub. Whenever I sit at the bar, though, the service is attentive and the bartender is friendly, talkative, and knowledgeable. Great spot for supper or apps. If you don't order the duck fat fries, you are doing yourself a great disservice. Prost! read more

Fantastic! They say they have the best burgers, and they may just be right! No ketchup or mustard... or hot sauce, needs to be added. Their sauce is great. I had a Deluxe burger with cheddar cheese and grilled onions... wow! Great taste; no greasy taste at all. And the tator tots are the best I've ever had! They come out looking burnt brown, but that's absolutely deceiving. They are great... again, no ketchup, mustard, or hot sauce needed. They taste like real potatoes, not those frozen food nuggets stores carry and most restaurants serve. And a great beer selection even if they didn't have any local Siouz Falls on tap. read more

I went here on a Monday night with my husband - the plan was to get a beer and a snack and move on. We got there at 6pm- just missing the 4-6pm happy hour. That was okay, though. The location isn't the best - it's in a strip mall next to a sporting good store and right by a Best Buy. But it IS worth it inside. The dark tint on the front door made the place look closed at first, but we made it though and found ourselves in a cozy bar, lots of wood with that authentic pub feeling. The bartender was courteous and friendly. We ordered two beers off of a great list, and had a small order of the duck fat french fries. Everything was wonderful and the price was extremely reasonable. We wish we would have had dinner there and tried the burgers (the place we planned on going was closed). The only reason I took off one star was because the women's bathroom smelled really bad. It seemed super clean so it was quite surprising. Very strange! I have no idea what it's normally like, but this particularly day was bad. Fix that up and you got yourself a fiver! read more

Wow this place was awesome. It was kind of a last minute stop for my friends and I but we stopped in on a Sunday for dinner and there just happened to be some good deals. We had a few beers for pretty cheap and a good burger. I'm not a huge beer drinker but the bartender was seriously awesome and helped me find two that I really loved. He was awesome! Three of us are here 2 days ago and all of our meals were OK. The actual burgers were small but covered with a ton of stuff to hide the small burger. I had the egg burger and there was no way to taste the egg, as it was over cooked. It should have been running down the sides of the burger but it was not. We also ordered the smothered fries which were gross! The duck fries were good. The meal cost around $10 for the burgers and $5 for the sides so for $15 it should have been much better. Tap House 41 is my go to meal when I travel to Sioux Falls. Awesome happy hour and whiskey selection. The BLT is crazy good and the tots although different are delicious. Food was very good bartender didn't seem to know what he was talking about, and I know very little of craft beers and such, but I knew more than him. Also my parents went there and their waitress complained about how drunk she was and how her pain meds have her all messed up because she did something to her leg. I haven't posted in quite some time and not because I haven't been eating, I just haven't had a dining experience worth reviewing. We ate the brussel sprouts, chicken club sandwich, and burger salad. Burger salad? I was suspect, but curious and was so happy with the choice. All the food was amazing but the burger salad was such a happy find. Nice little hidden gem in a strip mall. My husband said the wings were some of the best he's ever had - and he's had a lot of wings in his lifetime! I had the burger salad and it was delicious! As for alcohol, I wish they offered vodka and/or gin, but the bourbon press I had was pretty darned good - especially considering I'm not a bourbon fan.
