A review of my (lack of) reviews will tell you I am not a regular poster, but..... Val at Tapia was by far the best vendor I have used recently. Locked my keys in the trunk (duh). Called Val, got a quick call back, and he was at the house (Napa) within minutes of the estimated time. We shook hands and he got to work, quickly opening the car "old school" with picks rather than using an air wedge that AAA or others might use to force the issue, avoiding potential damage to the car. Then he made me a second electronic key onsite to avoid future problems and, as a bonus, harvested the car door numerical code which I never had since I bought the car used. Boom! Done and done in less than a half hour, all the above for less than the dealer would have charged me for a duplicate key. I have managed to lock myself out of my home twice now and both times I called Tapia and was very pleased. The first time I actually got stuck on my second story patio and so he had to go through two doors to get me in - I was so worried I would be late picking up my kids but he got to my place in less than 20 minuets of my call and it didn't even take 5 for him to get in and let me out. The second time I managed to lock myself (and my son) out in our pajamas while doing laundry and again he was here in less than 20 minuets (which was a relief because-of course- my son had to go to the bathroom BAD). This guy is the man. I've had to call enough scuzzy untrustworthy tow truck drivers to really appreciate this guys professionalism and timeliness. He got to me within minutes and got my car unlocked in a real mindful way that didn't damage the cars sealing. The last tow truck driver did damage it and could have been avoided with a bit of care and insight (like how Tapia locksmith did it this time). He also cut a copy of a new key for me right there on the spot -- you can get just a functional key that will open the door or one that will start the engine with the chip in it. He was easy to connect with, super friendly over the phone, and arrived pretty much on time to our scheduled appointment (admittedly he was 10 minutes late but he did call and I do live in the middle of nowhere).
