I would give Val 10 Stars if I could. He has helped several of my customers get their locks re-keyed and more. Last night , he with little notice came out to help one of my customers ion Sonoma replace the deadbolt and install a peep hole in her front door which she was unable to lock due to a faulty deadbolt or key. He patiently and very professionally replaced the customers deadbolt plus added additional security by installing what he calls BUMP HALT protection so that the lock would be nearly impossible to pick and prevent the use of a "Bump Lock" key to cause the tumblers to fall and allow entry to her home. Incredible service! We have an older Toyota Camry, 20 years old but was barely driven, that's key had been stripped from use and the car wouldn't start. The dealership wanted $380+ for one copy of the new key that wouldn't be ready for 2 weeks. I called on the Sunday before Labor Day just to leave a message about prices and to make an appointment for later in the week. Val picked up and within 20 minutes was at the house making two new copies of the key for almost a third of what the dealership was charging. Having just endured a brutal nigh are of a move into American Canyon, including a traumatic real estate transaction and an equally traumatic experience with bad movers, we called Val to have all of our locks changed. He was super busy, but answered his phone every time, showed up, and even tackled our broken sliding door lock, which he wasn't prepared for, since we discovered it after we had called him. He had so much trouble with this lock, but never once showed his frustration, and refused to give up...even though his Girl had made him a special dinner and was waiting for him to come home. We practically had to kick him out so he could finish after the weekend! Sweet, honest, fast, and fair-priced. Great Locksmith! Helped with an automotive key issue (Car security would not recognize key anymore.) Turned out it wasn't just a key issue. I had a faulty immobilizer unit which is the part that reads the key's transmitter. So I bought one online, installed it, and he gave me a deal on the second service call to program the existing, and new keys I requested. Came out the second time and got my car and keys all running flawlessly. Gave quote over phone, stuck to it, and did not try to sell me things I did not need. I locked myself out of my office on a very busy day. I had a busy meeting to go to and my purse and my car keys were in my office. I called a "supposedly" local lock smith and they said someone would call me back within 15 minutes. I waited a half an hour. When no one called back I looked on Yelp and found Tapia Locksmith. I called Tapia and explained my situation. He said he was in the area and would be there in 15 minutes. From the time I called Tapia, to Tapia actually opening my door took 20 minutes! Are you kidding... I have been locked out of my car and my house; it is usually hours and multiple phone calls before I get a locksmith to actually get there. When Tapia was done I received a barrage of locksmith call backs from my 1st phone call. So the original call to the other locksmith (which turned out to be a referral agency) took an hour for what was promised as a 15 minute call back.
