This is a little place in my neighborhood that I have passed by for years and haven't yet tried. I ordered through DoorDash three tacos; one each of chicharron, pastor, and carnitas. And a half liter of Mexican Coca-Cola in the bottle. The food was packed very well and secure in a plastic cling wrap. I ended up with two chicharrones tacos and no pastor. The chicharrones were okay but a bit overcooked and dry. I was looking for a more chewier texture. I had to put both their red and green salsas on the meat to soften the texture. Carnitas were decent, solidly in the satisfactory category. They were tender and tasted fine, not exceptional but good enough. The hand made tortillas were a plus as they held up with the good portion size of meat. The Coca-Cola was refreshing as usual. Price point value was just okay with the DoorDash related menu increases. I probably will not return as there are so many places up here to try that serve basically the same menu items. read more

I think I'm gonna stop listening to IG influencers on where I should eat. I do better job just looking it up and doing research through Google another areas or word-of-mouth so I tried this place because of course I saw some influencers on IG you talk about how great the Carnitas were in the Chicharron. I will pass on this place. The first thing is there's no prices when you walk in I don't know what Mexican food place has ever done that you're not going to a Michelin star restaurant where you're thinking wow who cares about the price? I felt really uncomfortable having to ask the cashier every time. Well, what's the price on that and what's the price on this? That is not a very professional or even inviting environment. Some families don't have money like that they want to go out to eat they shouldn't have to guess what the price is secondly, they offer no free water even though they have a dining area you have to pay for water bottles and coke in a can because they don't offer a fountain drink area. Which is not too uncommon when it comes to sodas, but definitely not offering a iced tea or anything of that nature not good. Let's move onto the food unfortunately Bland the Menudo as you see in the picture, I never took another bite after the meat was soggy the broth was terrible hard path when it comes to the gordita same thing that beans were dry. The rice was dry as well. The Chicharron was off on flavor so bad I don't like using table salt I think it's a cheap salt, but unfortunately I had to because that's how bad they lacked flavor. Do they offer chips and salsa? No, they do not. You can pay for Old hard chips and they give you hot sauce sauces not salsa then we ordered the burrito again. It looked like it was a day old. We also ordered tacos. The tacos were the only thing that weren't half bad. How can you mess up on tacos? Believe me there's some spots that do for what we paid in the price over $65 I will never be coming back here I would say give it a try, but until they upgrade do better on showing prices there's no way they deserve to have any type of customers. Sorry, I I rarely to never say that, but I would never want someone to feel as uncomfortable as I did ordering food to be met with underwhelming not taste full food. read more

I was really looking forward to this place. I thought going get some authentic flavors and style food out in the HD. From the outside it looks like going be a nice place they offer outdoor seating and it's in a good location. We walk it a party of four and I loved that they offer fresh tortillas it wasn't very appealing to the eye, sometimes doesn't but the soda machine was down, they advertised fresh juice (they had none) they only had horchata. The place felt not very welcoming or clean. We order the carne asada enchilada , the place was very pricey. They offered rice and beans.the food had zero flavor. I Personally feel the places was priced to high per plate , per person and the quality wasn't there for me. I order two Birria plates and there was no juice for beef. On a Saturday decided to try this place out, hearing it being advertised throughout town. It was a bit disappointing. Food did not seem fresh. The taste was not there, the menudo for sure was made a few days ago, to be weekend I expected it to be fresh . Chicharron was not what i was expecting. Had no flavor, also salsa in the squeezers not a good idea for dine in restaurant. The didnt seem to be cleaned often or washed had dried salsa at the tips. Idk if they are being just refilled or well washed and adding new salsa. I did like the handmade tortillas. :) Lady at front was nice, she was cashier/ waitress/ server idk what her title is, but she can be more presentable to be at front. I wanted to try a fresh water like the ones in the pic, i chose not to the color of the pre poured cups in the fridge definitely looked old again not fresh. When you walk in place looks closed from outside, cant really see OPEN sign. And place needs TLC Will i be back? I would like to try out their carnitas hoping that will be the hit. And also their micheladas. All in honestly it looked mid so I never stopped in til I saw a video on his sopes they looked good so I said let's try it. Finally tried this place. And OMG! It's good! I had a carnitas, chicharron and cueritos taco. Delicious!! They ran out of buche, which I really wanted to try. My husband loved his carnitas burrito. My son had an al pastor burrito. It was ok. I think the al pastor was overly seasoned and salty. Prices are very reasonable. The cashier was really nice and friendly. Small clean seating area. The one and only spot you should be going to for carnitas and Mexican food. It's run by a cute couple who speaks very limited English, but the friendliest and most accommodating people around! Upon entering the store, you could see the whole kitchen and the husband making fresh corn tortillas. We got the special platter, some tacos, empanadas, menudo, and flan. Oh and took some chicharron to go :) Carnitas - lightly seasoned and has a nice meat to fat ratio. Which means super juicy meat to eat alone and inside any Mexican staple. Really the star of the show here Tacos - simple yet solid taco. We got Al pastor, chicken and carne asada. All super flavorful and loaded with favor. Menudo - don't pass this up. It had huge chunks of tripe and loads of them. Broth was rich and flavorful. No hominy unfortunately. But still one of the best I've had. A REAL GEM in the High Dessert, I still can't believe I didn't found this place sooner! Craving a burrito? Menudo? Mulita? Torta? They have everything you can think of. Family owned, everything they prepare it's fresh and to order. My family, my coworkers, everyone I tell about this place it's obsessed. The red and green salsa that was provided to me for the tacos had a taste that I've only tasted in Jalisco. The menudo was only meat with no hominy which is my preference. I read Yelp reviews and people were excited about the carnitas, so I decided to make the drive and try it. The people were nice and took my order immediately (Although, I have to say I was the only customer during all the time I was there). I ordered a carnitas' torta. Now, I have to be honest and say that I'm no fun of carnitas, usually. I've found that they seem to be dry and suck 90% of your body's moisture; but in this case they were nicely cooked and were moist. How they managed to achieve this, I have no clue. Two of the three salsas were too watery, and the third, the one that tasted like avocado garlic was nice and thick but a little too salty. The taste of the torta was good, and the size was large enough for a hearty lunch, which should be expected for the $9.99 price for one torta. The one surprising thing was that I got charged an extra dollar because I paid with a credit card. However, Square (is high I have used for my own business) does NOT charge a 10% fee per transaction, so this was way excessive; furthermore, they added the charge before totaling, so I ended up paying taxes on the $1 charge for using a credit card!!!! What?! So, in the end, was it worth the drive? No. I may consider eating there if I had in the neighborhood and had cash in hand; otherwise, I probably would go to Alberto's Mexican Kitchen. read more

I was really contemplating on leaving this review, but I feel like today was my last straw with them. Never again will I or my family come to support their business. The food is good but their customer service is horrible. I've always dealt with the younger woman there which gives you hella attitude once you tell her your food is wrong. Especially when I know I DONT eat onions and always make sure to say no veggies on my food. The first time I let her attitude slide, her husband is very nice and apologetic. Second time, same thing full of cilantro and cebolla on my food after I asked 2 times no veggies, when I got there she said "well what do you want me to do with this food" lady I don't know but I am not going to pay a high price for something I can't eat. The third time same thing happened but instead it was water lettuce on a to go order. When I asked for sour cream or green salsa she said they were completely out. MInd you I went for lunch around 11am. Whatever I stopped going for a few months. TODAY I placed my order by phone like always. Older gentleman tells me to hold on cause I am ordering to much food and he was going to forget my order. SO he came back on wrote it all down, again i told them my order no veggies only salsa on side. Got there my Gordita full of onions and cilantro. I quickly told them it was wrong and the lady said she can just pick it off my food. (WTF) no!!!! The older man which if im not mistaken is the owner. Grab the gordita threw it across the room where the pots were at and loudly said i guess i have to make you another one, we can just give that one to another customer. Again (WTF). Then proceeds to tell me how thereis another customer that always calls and asked for her veggies on the side and that he hates that and he will straight out tell her there is no more food. Once I was leaving I asked for their green salsa and he tells her not to give me anything more. WTH I didnt even have salsa to begin with. SO yea I am all for supporting local business but not with this customer service. I will take mine and my families business somewhere else. read more

I feel like I just went to Abuela's house and she packed me some food to go. Very homely feeling and everything made from scratch and fresh. We ordered some Tripas and a couple pounds of freshly fried chicharrones. The food tasted good, but the chicharrones were a bit salty. We got a tripas plate which they do not normally offer, but they customized it for us and charged us a bit more then I feel it's worth. Their specialty is the carnitas which we didn't order, but the lady was so nice she offered us one carnitas taco to sample it. Very tender and very good. This place has a couple of tables if you want to eat there, but I feel it's really more of a to go set up. I will definitely come back and next time maybe their carnitas family pack to go. read more
