This is a more upscale Mexican eatery. It wasn't very busy on Thursday and many tables were open but we had to wait to be seated. I ordered the Chicken Tinga Taquitos. Thy were alright. The small spoonful of guacamole was good. Husband ordered the Carne Asada burrito and enjoyed it. Kiddo had the nachos but as per usual didn't eat much. Not sure the type of cheese on it, I tried one and wasn't a fan. Margarita was ok, pricey for the size. Our server was friendly, but I'm not sure I'd be in a rush to go back. read more

Visited Taqueria 27 and found it to be a little more of an upscale taco spot than a traditional taqueria. The tacos -- especially the pork belly and street corn options -- were creative, but the flavors didn't quite live up to the price point. We are frequent diners at Taqueria 27 and in general I would rate the food as good to excellent, with many interesting menu twists. The service however can only be considered as average to poor. Tonight our server said that she was bringing our bill - and then disappeared for 15'. When next seen she was watching TV at the bar! Another server eventually noticed our disgruntled looks and helped us out, explaining "we got really busy all of a sudden." My impression is that they are chronically understaffed! The ambiance is acceptable but not exceptional. We will return however for the tasty food. read more

I've been in Utah for just over 4 years and the biggest problem I've had when it comes to restaurants is finding a good Mexican style restaurant. Taqueria 27 is definitely a good step up from the others. Their salsa was good and wasnt overwhelmed by cilantro like others and had that little kick. I got the porkbelly tacos and they were great, had a good crisp on yhe outside but still juicy inside, and the jalapeño aioli drizzled on top just made it better. Only comes with 2 tacos so might be best to order a side of rice and beans or something if u want a little more food. I would definitely recommend the tacos over the enchiladas since enchilada sauce covers up most of the flavor of any meat or other seasonings, if u want to actually taste something, get the tacos. read more

Taqueria 27 is underrated. Some reviews have mentioned the food was underwhelming. I suppose some things on the menu may be that way, but the majority is really flavorful. Try the steak enchiladas with the homemade mole. The pinto beans are spicy and hard to stop eating. read more

I traveled to Lehi, UT to visit my daughter & this place is in the area, so we decided to go here for dinner last night. Boy, being from California and being Mexican this has got to be the worse tacos I have tasted!! Definitely not authentic anything, sorry. Maybe it would be good to come for a drink, but not the food. We ordered two different types of tacos - the fried chicken tacos and the Brent tacos. Each meal came with two tacos and a small dish of rice and a small dish of beans. We thought we would get complimentary chips and salsa but nope. So just to note - if you want chips and something to dip them in - you have to order that. We did after realizing and sadly - the chips taste stale. That was sad. The tacos were ok and surprisingly filling but for the price I am used to more food. So underwhelming! From the minute we pulled into the parking lot, until the time that we left, our experience was not worth the time spent. The manager was outside the backdoor smoking with who turned out to be our server (eventually). Once the server did come to our table, she was pleasant enough, but clearly didn't want to be there. We placed our order and our food did come out quickly, However, for what we paid, there literally is no value proposition there. I ordered the nachos from the appetizer menu, which was enough food for one person, but $16 for what was received is not it. The server never came back after the food was delivered to the table to check on us. We had been completely done for about 10 minutes when she did finally come back and ask us how everything was going.. A little late. Then the payment process. I don't mind tipping for great service, but to be held hostage by a server with a hand held payment device is crazy. There is the awkward staredown as I have to choose between 20, 22 and 25% tip. What a weird and uncomfortable way to ensure the server gets at least 20% regardless of how the experience goes. My husband and I had never been to Taqueria 27 before. But we were in the area and decided to stop by. We entered the restaurant but could not find anyone to seat us. I walked into the seating area and saw a server at a table. I waited until she was finished with her customer; hoping she would greet us and let us know someone would be out to seat us. But that didn't happen. She wouldn't even make eye contact. She walked into the kitchen area without even a glance. So we decided perhaps this wasn't a good choice for us. Couple years ago we ate here and they served my Wife a glass of water with ice and shards of broken glass in it. We should have sued. Thankfully my Wife noticed it before taking a big gulp. I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas. They were terrible - tough chicken - very dry - so not a traditional enchilada. I barely ate 1 and brought the rest home to try to doctor up and make edible and it just wasn't possible so I threw the rest out. I paid the bill for a total of $120.00 for 5 ladies (no drinks) plus nice tip as it wasn't the waitresses fault. Very very confused by these negative reviews. I live for margaritas and tacos. If I had to choose one meal the rest of my life, it would be a margarita with chips and tacos. So my standards are high. I love this place. I have eaten here more times than I can count and it never disappoints. T27 and the strawberry marg (not technically on the menu but they'll always make it) are delish. We also start with the sampler to get the gut going. The corn is my personal favorite. I know I said I love tacos ... but I can't come here without getting the quesadilla appetizer and adding the duck. Phenomenal. Seriously all these reviews gotta chill. Okay, first let me say. Service was great. But when it came to the actual food..... sheeeesh. I mean.... I just spent $80 on below average food. The salsa had little to no flavor, the rice was cold, the tortilla was stale, the enchiladas were under seasoned so we just doused it in hot sauce. The best part of the meal was the beans. We came here for the first time yesterday and it was kind of hard to find where the restaurant was and not a lot of available parking close by so we parked closer by The Original Pancake House. We tried four different tacos which was nice because we each got one taco each served to us. It was definitely pricey for what you get. Some of the tacos weren't that great but some were really good! Our favorite was the Brent taco and the fried chicken taco was our very favorite. I was super disappointed with the grilled veggie taco. Description said cauliflower and I didn't notice any of that in there in the description did not include beets and it had so many beets in it I could hardly eat it. Plus I am slightly allergic to beets so I talked to the server about it but she wasn't very helpful and said maybe the menu wasn't updated. The flan was super tasty! I loved the whipped cream and strawberry sauce on top. It was a little hard to eat in the jar. A smaller spoon would be easier to eat with. We arrived after the normal "lunch bunch" had left and were seated quickly. Some of the tables are only separated by back-to-back benches allowing little room for quiet private conversation. Nothing in the dining area stood out as lending to a sense of ambiance. No decor, just a chalkboard showing the various items of the day. Our server took our drink order quickly. Our first disappointment was having to order chips and salsa. We asked for the chipotle and verde sauces. Disappointment #2: The chipotle was tasteless. The verde had a sour flavor. Disappointment #3: I ordered a Horchata and got a watered down version of my favorite Mexican drink. Disappointment # 4.Someone had tried to salvage the drink by adding some cinnamon on top. My wife ordered the 4 Cheese Enchiladas. When she asked if she could substitute refried beans for the pinto beans she learned that they don't have refried beans. The folded (not rolled) enchiladas were filled with yummy melted cheese, but could have used more of the sauce. (Disappointment #5). I ordered the Shrimp Enchiladas. The menu indicated that the tortillas and shrimp are stacked. There were about eight shrimp sandwiched between three tortillas. The sauce tasted good but was insufficient to add meaningful flavor to the meal. Because of the lack of sufficient sauce the enchiladas were difficult to cut into bite size pieces. (Disappointment #6). Our cost before tax or tip was $38.49! The meal was basically fast food quality with a medium level price. There are much better options for a GOOD Mexican dinner all across the area. read more

My friend who has Celiac Disease loves coming here because they never contaminate and always have the best suggestions for good gluten free options. Service was amazing, Chloe was on top of everything, always checking on us and filling up drinks. The food was incredible, everything cooked to perfection and brought out to us very quickly. We especially loved PBLTA and Carnitas so much that we asked for another other of those. The flavours were so unique, and each topping complemented the meat so well. We especially loved the pickled onions. Although it was a little pricey, I definitely recommend Taqueria 27 for fancy tacos! Covid note: Our server asked us if we would like hot sauces. Bartender actually sucks at being a bartender. No social skills, constantly chatting with coworkers. You can tell they are not excited to be there and it shows. Came in for one drink and already felt like he was trying to push me out by giving me a bill after one drink. Not sure if this is a law in Utah, but I just felt unwelcome. This is such a fun Mexican restaurant! They have some fun unique flavors that make it feel like you are trying a completely new food! This was my second time coming, and Brady took care of us tonight. Super friendly, helpful, and answered are many many questions with patience. I've tried two different balsamic guacamole and they were so good and different and fun! I've tied the sampler (all soo good) the carne asado tacos, and the nacho fries (which I wish I would have listened and added carne asado). My mom ordered the fish tacos and they were dry and tasteless but Brady handled the situation seamlessly! Took them away and comped them off her order. Taqueria 27 is an ambitious taco/enchilada restaurant. They have a fish of the day, a taco of the day, an enchilada of the day, a guacamole of the day and a drink of the day. Love the concept and variety. Being adventurous I deemed to try something I would not ordinarily make at home. Our party ordered the T27 classics sampler. Loved the guac, the queso fundido, street corn and the verde salsa with corn chips and warm flour tortillas which tasted homemade. We LOVED the grilled shrimp tostada bites also....cilantro pesto, marinated grilled shrimp and balsamic reduction on a thick cut corn chip. The taco of the day was the barbecued carnitas..... sweet taste to the bbq sauce and very tasty. However not so much enthralled with the options I chose. I ordered the duck confit which was chipotle spiked confit of duck, roasted corn, squash and peppers , chipotle cream ad crispy leek strings. Intriguing right? Tasted like dirt. There was a better way to compliment the duck which had no flavor with more of an Asian slaw and a hoisin based sauce. In all fairness our lead waitress, Raigen, did not recommend it as she hadn't tried it. She generously offered to bring out another I was considering (at 2 for $10 you would think you could mix but you must stick to the 2 per order of the same kind). So out came the P.B.L.T.A. Which was pork belly house smoked , lettuce, cherry tomato, avocado and jalapenos aioli in flour tortilla. Better than the duck but it tasted like a regular blta but in a tortilla. There was more that could be done with this combo to make it stellar too starting with not a whole piece of lettuce. I can't say enough about our server who was outstanding!!! She took the time to listen to our comments and suggestions as she had the time (about 1ish) and the interest.
