I stopped by this spot on June 27th, 2021 while 'just passing through'. I placed an order for take-out for Thing Two and I. Chicken Taco Salad- Thing One ordered this item and she I and I both were pleasantly surprised by the abundant amount of chicken in the salad. It appeared to be two well seasoned cut up chicken breasts in the salad. Fluata's plate- I ordered this item for myself. I asked to substitute the refried beans for Frijoles charros but when I opened the to-go container, the beans were refried (ughs). The green sauce that accompanied the plate was burn your mouth off hot but really flavorful. The service I received here although it was for a to-go order was exceptional. Thing One and I were offered and order of chips and salsa while we waited which we devoured. A Must Eat at Place just outside of Kerville, TX. on Junction Hwy. Stopped in while on business in Ingram, TX. This place has plenty of parking and accommodates RVs & Buses. Inside is clean and spacious. Was Greeted upon entering and served complimentary Chips & Salsa. Ordered Barbacoa & Eggs breakfast. Coffee is hot & delicious. Been going here for years it's one of the better places for Tex Mex in the area. We dropped in for lunch and both ordered nachos. The food came out quickly it was tasty and The portion was generous. The service was excellent (it has been a bit slow sometimes in the past). The server even offered to get the hubby a to go tea at the end which earned her a big gold star from him. read more

We ordered the bacon & egg, chorizo & egg, and sausage & egg; all of them very tasty. The coffee is good, too. Service is excellent! Our waitress was always attentive, refilling our coffee before we had to ask. The restaurant is casual with a lot of seating available. This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in central Texas. One of the daily lunch meals, the carnitas en salsa verde, is excellent, and could easily be eaten in the interior of Mexico. The chiles rellenos are some of the best I've ever had in Texas, and I live in the state. Tacos de fajita are excellent, my kids' favorites. If in doubt, don't be. Give this place a try. read more

Good food and cheap prices, not too far from home. The Enchilada combo I got was pretty good. They do have little parking space but more than enough seats inside when we arrived Friday evening. This place was good about two years ago. The last 2 times my family went we got sick.

This is the most disgusting and rude place I have ever eaten at!! I strongly recommend not to go here! First our waiter was very rude he rushed to take our order answering us very disrespectfully when we had questions.. then the cook was giving us rude looks because we returned a meal that was not ours. We then started to eat, as I was eating I bit something hard, IT WAS A ROCK! In my rice and beans. The supposedly boss/ manager was very rude about it didn't even care if we came back or not didn't even apologize for it! Her words were "do not come back here and I can careless if y'all don't" this place should be shut down! This place is Terrible! If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

Maybe all the good reviews were about breakfast but we had dinner here last night and it was not up to par. First off, Amy good Mexican food establishment makes real margaritas, not wine based margaritas. The pina colada had a massive amount of whipped cream and I am going to assume it too was wine based. The menu was full of the word "NO". I must have counted 10 "NO", which was very unusual. The food was was not very flavorful. The waiter was some what smirky. He asked if I'd like onions and I said yes and he charged me 35 cents. When I asked him about it he said "it's no big deal, I will pay for the onions." If it wasn't a big deal then why did he leave the 35 cent charge on my bill? I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant. I should have taken the advise of the one review I read before I got there that said "do not go there". If you want to throw your good money then go here. read more

It's always nice to go back home and get some good ol' fashioned small town Tex Mex. I love the tangy salsa in the squirt bottles on the table, the refried beans are some of the best you will have anywhere, and the Carne Asada has the perfect char with a slight hint of Mojo de Ajo and it's served with Nopal cactus. Nobody in the entire city of Atlanta (as far as I can find) does Carne Asada as well as Altos De Jalisco does. The enchiladas, which are loaded up with yellow cheese and filling, are pretty darn good too and the sauce has a great flavor that makes you want to just keep eating! This has been one of my favorite stomps for years... if you're down that way add Altos De Jalisco to your list of stops too! read more

This is a good Mexican restaurant and one I both recommend and would return to eat at again. The enchiladas were good, but the corn tamales were a little heavy on the corn and light on the filling. Tacos were good. The chili relleno was large and extremely flavorful, different and unique. The rice and beans were also good, which is a plus. read more

Went here after reading the reviews. It looks like a really small place when you drive up, but it's actually a good sized restaraunt. We were greeted as soon as we came through the door. Seated immediately and our order was taken very quickly. I had the bistek ranchero, which wasn't what I expected but was very tender and really good. My wife had the fish tacos and she said they were the best she ever had. They were really good. The waitress keep our drink glasses full and was very friendly. I am a resident of Kerr County. Five adults, 25 different meals in three days at this location and no-one found anything lacking. Everything on the plate arrived hot and fresh. No dried out meats, veg's or Refried beans. Everything was great and everything had it's own taste. Shrimp, Scallops and fish, kept it own flavor, as did everything on the plate. This may not be important to some but I like my steak to taste like beef just like everything else on the plate to taste as grown or raised. The bottom of the Taco Salad was DRY! Not soaked with grease. In fact non of us found excess grease or oil on any of our food, Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Deserts were tasty and the perfect meal topper. Menu prices are very fair. Hands down, absolutely the best Tex-Mex restaurant from Kerrville to San Antonio. Staff was very helpful, courteous and efficient - meals arrived quickly.
