Gilbert's dining scene just got even better, and this is one you don't want to miss. If you're looking for a restaurant that blends modern Mexican flavors with premium steakhouse quality, Origen absolutely delivers. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by a beautiful, upscale atmosphere featuring an open kitchen, incredible artwork, warm lighting, and a vibe that's perfect for date night, celebrations, or dinner with friends. Now let's talk about the food... Beef Braised Short Rib: The star of the evening. Fall-apart tender, packed with rich flavor, and served over creamy mashed potatoes that soaked up every bit of that incredible sauce. Comfort food elevated to another level. Prime Ribeye: Perfectly cooked with a beautiful crust, topped with sautéed mushrooms, and every bite was juicy, flavorful, and exactly what you'd expect from a top-tier steakhouse. Crispy Lobster : Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and tossed in a sweet-spicy sauce that kept us reaching for one more bite. Espresso Martini: Smooth, balanced, and the perfect cocktail to enjoy with dinner--or to finish the evening. Dessert: The perfect ending to an outstanding meal. Beautifully presented and every bite was worth saving room for. One of the things we really appreciated was how every dish arrived looking as good as it tasted. The presentation, quality of ingredients, and attention to detail were evident from start to finish. The service was attentive, the atmosphere was lively, and the open kitchen added to the overall experience. Food 5/5 Drinks 5/5 Atmosphere 5/5 Service 5/5 Parking 4/5 Overall Rating: 5/5 Origen isn't just another new restaurant--it's an experience. Whether you're celebrating something special, planning a date night, or simply looking for one of Gilbert's newest dining destinations, this place deserves a spot on your list. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

Walking into the restaurant, the aesthetic and vibe were great and would definitely come back to try their other entrees. For this occasion we ordered: Bone in ribeye: 4/5- the 20oz steak was perfectly cooked with a charred flavor, but I personally think it's missing butter and some rosemary. As for the mashed potatoes, it was finely grated and mashed and was just divine to eat Salmon carpaccio 3/5- the ponzu flavor was light and not too overwhelming and thought it was great sauce. However, the deduction comes in the way the salmon was cut. For sure if the Salmon were thinly slice vs chucks, I would've gave this dish a higher score. Cutting it in chucks had this mushy texture Ceviche 5/5- this ceviche was delicious. Right amount of seasoning, and with that hint of coconut it complimented the fish and shrimp to perfection As for the service, definitely could've used some improvement. Our server was slow and didn't come often to pick up our dishes or ask us how we are doing. We were the ones that constantly had to wave her down to get help

Been here a few times recently. One for my birthday and one for happy hour. Both times the service has been awesome. The decor and ambiance is always top notch. I love feeling like I can dress up for a Gilbert restaurant. Having gone for dinner and happy hour, both did not disappoint. Got the flank steak and pork belly tacos at dinner. Loved both and steak cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes were even amazing! The crevice was incredible. The broth everything is in, is different but on point with the fish. I want it everytime I go! I went for happy hour a month later, and you truly can't beat this happy hour anywhere . $30 for 3 different kinds of steaks , cooked how you want and with a side! My filet was cooked nice and rare and was delicious! Highly recommend for anyone who can make it between those short hours. The cucumber mezcalita drink is my favorite! It's light and refreshing. With such a nice restaurant so close and and a great happy hour , I definitely will be back to take advantage!

The food here is good, just good, no great. At least what I got: truffle steak fries, polanco pasta with NY Steak (medium rare), and crispy pork belly tacos. The pork belly tacos were the star of the show, perfectly salty and crunchy but still with a bit of chew. The one downside is that the tacos desperately needed some type of salsa or crema. The pasta and steak were decent but won't blow you away. There are steak houses with better steak and Italian joints with better pasta. And the steak fries were very average. Cocktails were good. While the overall vibe of the restaurant was nice, I struggle to see what Origen really excels with.

It was our first time here and we decided to give happy hour a try. I was really impressed with the ambiance of the restaurant right when you walk in and throughout, it's gorgeous. My husband reviewed the menus prior but I didn't. I was shocked by the price of the food and especially the kids meals $18-20ish, and $48ish for enchiladas. That being said, the quality of the food, service, and ambiance helped me feel more comfortable with the cost. I would say I thought it was going to be a more casual experience (because of the plaza) but it does have a more upscale vibe. Our server was fantastic and really made sure to help make our experience just right. We will definitely be back but I think I'll save this place for special occasions, thank you!

Went here with a group on a Tuesday night. We had a reservation so they knew we were coming. Our waitress was nice but it was the slowest service ever! Seated at 6:45pm, we didn't get to order appetizers until nearly 7:30. The whole meal dragged on. Our table was never properly cleared of unused or dirty dishes and glasses. A male manager came by twice and grabbed a few things but otherwise our waitress was having to do it all herself. They also had the temperature incredibly warm there, so warm everyone was sweating and I almost put my hair up in a ponytail. Food was okay but not worth the price b Again, this was a Tuesday night, not a busy weekend. Won't be returning to this place.

Went to Or1gen on Valentine's Day and it was such a cute and romantic spot for dinner. The vibes were moody and intimate, which made it feel perfect for a date night. The service was also great. the staff was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. I ordered the Mary's chicken with truffle fries and both were delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the truffle fries were crispy and full of flavor. definitely a great combo. Overall it felt like a really special spot for a romantic dinner, and I'd definitely come back for another date night!!

This place was great and the staff was even better. Me and my wife were celebrating our two year anniversary and we couldn't get a babysitter so we had to pack up the baby with us lol. We were able to get reservations on OpenTable same day which was on a Tuesday so that's expected when I came in. I was greeted by a friendly hostess, who sat us very quickly. The ambience inside is super modern and a good vibe in general. Our server, Yuri was absolutely amazing. She was super patient and helpful/accommodating with having a baby at a restaurant. They DO have high chairs! She also gave a really good recommendation of the ceviche which me and my wife found phenomenal! It was a different style of ceviche than I typically get and the variety of seafood as well as the sauce that it was marinated with was delicious. One thing, though that I would say that for personal preference at least would be that I wish they had some spice on it that would've sent it to the moon. I also got the steak the filet mignon specifically and I would've done the mashed potatoes because they sounded like they were really good, but I ended up getting potato wedges because my wife wanted some lolll The filet mignon was really good. I would say just one critique would be that it wasn't Cook the same throughout so like the right side was medium and then the side that luckily I cut into at first was medium rare so that was one downside but overall it was really good tasting steak. We also got a side of sautéed veggies, which were delicious. And then, lastly, when we were leaving or about to get the check, Yuri told us that because we are celebrating our anniversary that they wanted to surprise us with a flan! That flan was pretty good, I wouldn't say it's to die for . but I also come from a Hispanic family so I'm kinda picky. Next time I go back, I will definitely try a lot more on the menu and I have to go when I have a complete cheat meal so I can eat a lot of food! We didn't end up drinking today because middle of the week but next time I go back I have 100% will get some of their cocktails too as they look absolutely delicious! Overall, I would recommend this place. The staff was super super friendly ambience was good. The food was good and there's more items to explore on the menu

The Truly Bougie Dining club headed to Origen and it did not disappoint. I had been there last year so I was a bit reluctant, however, and I am so happy to say they have hit it out of the park. I am so happy we chose your beautiful restaurant. For starters we were seated as soon as we checked in for our 6:30 reservation. We sat in a cozy area near the front. The ambiance was very pleasant. The table was set with beautiful plates and also big big Reidel wine goblets. Our server was amazing. Jamie made sure she gave us plenty of time to get settled and returned a few times to get everyone's drink selections and we didn't feel rushed. I ordered the Hibiscus Mezcalita, my friend ordered the December 2nd. Both were amazing craft cocktails. They were so good she ordered a second one and I ordered a Cucumber Spicy Mezcalita. Again very good. The rest of our group had beers, a few Old Fashions and an Aperol Spritz. All very good. (After dinner we were able to meet the mixologist behind the bar. He was so passionate about his craft and detailed his efforts and length it takes to make each of their signature drinks. It's very obvious he loves what he does and I should add he is the only one who creates these wonderful flavors, mostly for consistency for the rest of the bar staff. Super impressive.) Now to the even better stuff. Food was amazing. I ordered the Sonoran tacos. They were very tasty. The meat was tender. I used both sauces and the cream which is delivered to the table prior to dinner. My friend ordered tacos de Filet with the bone marrow. She was so happy with her selection. The manager Carlos actually had made his way to our table and when our food arrived he offered a hand. My friend wasn't sure about what to do with the bone marrow. Carlos stepped in and using a small spoon, spooned the bone marrow over the tacos for an added flavor. She was impressed as was the rest of our group. My other girlfriend ordered the Angus skirt steak. Unfortunately she thought her steak was a little chewy. Finally the men in our group opted for the 12oz ribeye, and the Cowboy bone-in Ribeye. Again they said the meat had great flavor, seasoned great, a great cut of meat, and zero left on their plate. They even substituted French fries for my husband which was a nice touch. Throughout the night Jamie checked on us, Carlos the manager checked on us, and we also had another gentleman come and ask us if our dinner was going good. I absolutely appreciated it. We were all so happy which made our dinner much more enjoyable knowing we were being treated with much so much care. We ended the night with dessert. We ordered a flan, a cheesecake made out of canela crackers, and a cake of some sort. All were delicious and were shared with the table. To top things off we were given a tour of this magical one of a kind restaurant. We were led to more intimate places throughout for bigger parties and celebrations. They also have a wine room filled with great wine selection. Definitely did not expect the different possibilities to entertain bigger parties. I am so happy to have returned to Origen. Thanks for a great night.

Origen delivered a great experience. The tomahawk steak was the highlight of the meal--cooked beautifully, full of flavor, and presented exceptionally well. The octopus was tender and enjoyable, although it had a bit more oil than I personally prefer. The atmosphere was fantastic, making it a great place to relax, enjoy a quality meal, and catch the World Cup matches . Friendly service, excellent presentation, and a memorable dining experience overall. We'll definitely be back for another tomahawk!

Found this place through an instagram story and was excited to try it. We were seated during happy hour with no reservation. They easily accommodated our group of five. The food is excellent and flavorful. The portion sizes are very generous and they even offered to fire the steak at two temperatures to split. We ordered the ribeye during happy hour. There was a nice crust on the steak and was well seasoned. The kids meals have extremely generous portions but are 18-20 dollars per kids meals. The service was excellent. Would definitely be worthwhile to check out at happy hour (Sunday through Thursday 3-5)

Service and ambience was on point, drinks and food came out in a timely matter. I wish the food had a little bit more flavor and the salsa was a little spicier. I definitely wouldn't exclude coming here again and ordering different items for the menu.

Disappointing Anniversary Dinner - Expected More for the Price…read more My wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary here after getting recommendations from friends who spoke highly of the place. Since we're in the Gilbert area, we loved the idea of a great steakhouse without the drive to Scottsdale. We went in with high expectations -- we're no strangers to special occasion dining, so we knew what we were hoping for. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in almost every way. The ambience and service felt more like a polished chain restaurant than the upscale dining experience the prices suggest. For a $300-$400 dinner for two, you expect a certain level of attentiveness and flow -- and we just didn't get it. After our appetizers, we noticed we never received the pretzel bread everyone raves about. When I asked our waiter, he said they had just finished baking a fresh batch. When it arrived, it was cold -- so that clearly wasn't the case. We also had to flag our waiter down to take our entrée order, which shouldn't happen at this price point. My steak was fine -- just fine. My wife's fish was the same. Nothing memorable, nothing that made us feel like the bill was justified. By the end of the meal we were both ready to leave. Our waiter did offer a complimentary dessert for our anniversary, which was a nice gesture, but we were already checked out mentally and chose to go somewhere else to finish the evening on a better note. If you're in the East Valley looking for a truly special dinner, I'd honestly just make the drive to Mastro's Oceans Club or Steak 44.

Use to visit the Chandler location weekly 12-14 years ago.. even told our kiddos that tonight when we brought them here. Problems started as soon as we got our food. All the food came out besides our son's children's steak, was told they had to cook another one. As we were waiting for his steak, my husband noticed his steak wasn't a ribeye like he ordered. He suspected it was a NY Strip Steak. About 7 minutes goes by and manger brings our sons steak. My husband asked the manager if his steak looked like a NY strip to him and manager replied "yes, I think we have the best NY Strip" and my husband nicely replied, I didn't order a Strip, I ordered a Ribeye and told the manager it was fine, he would eat it still and still tasted good but didn't want to be changed for a Ribeye since he got the strip wrong. ($12 difference) I got the firebirds bacon chicken pasta with steak instead of chicken and no tomatoes and green onions. Well.. there was def tomatoes and onions and no bacon. And I was changed $30 for pasta and steak.. that wasn't even made the way I asked. Well my son's (late) steak was suppose to be medium and it was rare. By the time the server came back my son was eating some of my husbands steak and my pasta so we just asked the server to take his meal off the check because it was late and cooked wrong. She said it was absolutely cooked wrong and insisted to bring him a new steak as well as take it off the check. She even asked him to put his steak on a plate and "she'd throw it away and they'll make him a new children steak." Well manager comes back and tell my husband that his steak was in fact a ribeye (it was def not a ribeye.. no marbling whatsoever) and dropped off our sons steak.... It literally was the pieces we had cut up that they just threw back on the grill. Even pieces our son chewed and spit out when it was rare and too chewy for him. Like GROSS!!! They did take the children's steak off the check and gave us a free dessert( which we didn't even want, we would have rather paid the correct amount for my husbands steak...) The waitress was fine, none of this was her fault because she read us back what we ordered and had it all correct.. but she fell short as to getting us refills (never even offered a 2nd round of wine or beer) and when it was time for the check we gave 2 gift cards $50 each and our card to pay. She brought back our copy to sign and she only took off 1 $50 gift card. We had to call her over and she realized she didn't use both giftcards and had to void our card and redo it. The managers were busy the whole night talking to upset tables. This location really needs to get their stuff together. Again, nice to offer dessert but truly all we wanted was to get what we paid for and how we asked for it and tonight wasn't it. Literally felt like we were scammed outta $160. we will be taking our $$ elsewhere.

I highly recommend this and make sure to say yes to the bread before dinner. The hosts and servers are very well trained, respectful and attentive. No complaints from me. Also the interior and decor is classy but not over the top or old and gothic for a steakhouse. Also tables are isolated enough so it's not super loud and pretty good privacy between other groups The only recommendations I can make is to ask the lady at the table next to us with the pungent perfume to take it easy jk! You can tell the management cares and are very involved. It's nice to go a restaurant that's properly and well managed. It's just an easy and low stress experience.

Both hostess at the front didn't offer a wait list. Instead, we were offered a table in the back outside while everyone else was seated inside. As a Black family, the experience left us feeling unwelcome. I can't say why we were treated this way, but the interaction was extremely disappointing, we chose to dine elsewhere. Update: After my original review, the restaurant reached out to apologize for our experience. We decided to give them another chance, and I'm glad we did. Our return visit was completely different. The service was excellent, and we had the pleasure of meeting the Ashley Cook, General Manager and the owner. They made us feel genuinely welcome. I appreciate that they took our feedback seriously and worked to make things right. Our server Tyler was exceptional.

Music is always on pointe and I would never change the look or ambiance of the place either. My last trip here though I had to ask about why the menu had stopped changing as often since we were one of two parties there in the middle of happy hour and there was a large framed picture of a bartender with a bunch of signed notes on the bottom of it beside me at the bar. It turns out that one of the oldest curators and bartenders of the bar and restaurant had passed from a drunk driving incident and I had not known at all! Gosh I was so disappointed in myself that I had ever complained about not having a new menu to try after that...but at the same time it was amazing to hear so many great anecdotes and to learn so much more about him and the history of the bar itself while dining this time. I had a lot of fun times at this bar - including remembering the first time I met that bartender and sharing that memory with the staff that told me their story. They also shared that they would be coming out with a new menu very soon and some of the new items and ideas that would be rolling out so I am also very excited to go back! New food menu tomorrow too?! What?! I was almost tempted to back today to get more of their amazing dishes from the main menu!! Thank you Cat for the amazing hospitality! I learned so much about Gaea in one afternoon too :D Love it. To update about the food I tried but some of you may not get to try since they're changing it up :P *Tiger Shrimp - DIVINE - JUICY ZUCCHINI STUFFED WITH CURRY THAT MAKES YOUR ENTIRE MOUTH WATER JUST THINKING ABOUT IT ONCE ITS EVER TOUCHED YOUR TONGUE - the prawns are BIGGER THAN YOUR MIDDLE FINGER *Thai Salad - zesty spicy, VERY filling and made in lettuce cups, so very much not your typical salad but very tasty *steak skewers - much more like the juiciest steak I've literally ever had on a skewer - LITERALLY...but not because it's fat, just because they somehow made this steak completely juicified - don't ask me how - ask Cat *Mole Chicken Skewers - My favorite...you should just try it.

I wish I could remember cause he was PHENOMENAL!!! I came in as the classic "pain in the *ss with all dietary restrictions and modification requests" and wow was he able to answer every question and provide alternatives for me! I came in with both celiac and low fod map (food elimination). Upon sitting and taking drink orders, he also offered a gluten free bread for me to enjoy with my family while we looked over the menu. BEST GLUTEN FREE BREAD IVE EVER HAD! Must be made with rice flour or something because it was soft with a little bounce, versus the usual "dry and grainy" we are used to. Id fly back across the country again just for that bread honestly. Even if youre not gluten free, ask for it. AANNDDDD this is a scratch kitchen!! I was able to look over the GLUTEN FREE MENU!! And pretty much come up with a "diy" salmon entree. To say this place is phenomenal is an UNDERSTATEMENT. The staff, the food, the menu options... all just amazing. I will say it gets a little annoying when they try to push their wine membership, but whatever! They were not just confirming the reservation but asking which type of table we'd like, any mobility issues (as there is seating upstairs as well as the main floor) and what, if any, was the occasion. When we arrived for our 5pm reservation, we were instantly seated and met our AMAZING server Kay. She was an absolute gem. Our daughters have Celiac which Kay was incredibly attentive to. She was kind, funny and helpful. We'll definitely be sitting in her section again! The ambiance is beautiful and bright allowing the natural sunlight in. The live piano player was fantastic, calming and not too loud. The food was top notch. We've been to other steakhouses and the salt used, has always made us feel bloated and swollen walking out especially in the AZ heat. Elliot's was refreshing and none of us felt the need to hydrate after. We'll be coming back soon. Whether it's just a date night for my husband and I or an entire family celebration, Elliot's has become our go to. PS: the manager went above and beyond for us. Our daughter purchased my husband and I a gift certificate at Christmas. She didn't e-claim the certificate and we had intended to use it towards our family dinner. After calling the restaurant, the manager went through the 60 transactions of gift certificates on the date ours was purchased and applied it prior to us arriving. Service at every level was warm, welcoming and kind.

My partner had a French 75 that she really enjoyed. For dinner, we both ordered the 6 oz filet medium. She chose the demi-glace and I had the bone marrow butter, which was absolutely delicious. We also shared the French fries, and they were excellent. The only disappointment was that both of our steaks came out closer to medium-rare than medium. The flavor was very good, but the undercooking left the filets a little chewier than we prefer and they were missing that tender, almost melt-in-your-mouth texture we expect from a properly cooked filet. That said, we enjoyed the atmosphere, cocktails, sauces and sides, and had a very nice birthday dinner. There was a lot to like about Elliott's. I'd definitely give them another visit--I'd just be a little more specific about the steak temperature next time.

We decided to share a meal tonight so started with their Loaded House Salad, which they split for us. We loved this salad! Their tarragon ranch dressing was perfect with the mixed greens, the grape tomatoes, pepitas, and bacon crumbles...such a good salad! We shared their popular short ribs (they charged $2 for plate share) which were cooked to tender perfection and served over a creamy white bean puree. Delicious for sure! We finished with some of their Black Forest Cake which was the bomb! Tender, moist chocolate cake rounds with the best tasting whip that has vanilla bean in it and then some great cherry jam to set it all off. What a great meal!
