Fajitas
Sharon V.

Had my car serviced in the area so stopped by right after for some takeout (in the afternoon on a Wednesday). I got the chicken and steak fajitas with a small chips and guac...Here are my thoughts: Chicken & steak: cooked and seasoned very well 8/10 Rice & Beans: VERY greasy. There was a thick layer of grease around the top and throughout both rice and beans. They were flavorful but so disappointed that they were so greasy! 2/10 Guac: there was zero seasoning. Just mashed up avocados. No salt, lime or anything! 2/10 Customer service: I was taken care of immediately after I walked in and the staff was super friendly. 10/10 I've been here before once a looong time ago and the food was so bomb, so I'm super bummed with this experience!

Beef Flauntas with my hiking group

Came to this restaurant after a nearby hike. We had a party of 6. Staff was friendly. We enjoyed our food. Restaurant has plenty of parking in front and back of establishment. For my order I got the beef flauntas and they were delicious. My plate was robust with flavor. In addition to the flauntas, I noticed they had Pozole. I didn't want a full bowl because it was hot out but the waitress was nice of enough to give me a sample. SOLD!!! Next time I come back I want a full bowl of the Pozole. I rarely like restaurant Pozole but this broth was spot on to the homemade Pozole's I grew up tasting in Cali. Not too much more to say about this Mexican joint. I hear is it a local chain but I felt all the recipes were authentic. My group also like the option of buying margarita pitchers which easily served 6 people.

Some of best Mexican styled foods in our area and we have quite a lot of places. Our server was very good and showed what great service means. She made sure our orders were as good as they could be. My steak burrito was just perfect in every way. My wife ordered a steak burrito also with all the fixings inside, hers was perfectly made and the ingredients were added just right. We will definitely be going back for more meals here. We heard about this restaurant from a young lady at works at our blood bank.

Nacho appetizer

I really like the tacos here! I always order the ground beef taco dinner. The meat must be slow cooked because it's so soft and tender. There are pieces of potatoes in it which I love. The rice and beans are always really tasty. We ordered the nacho appetizer for the first time and will most definitely be ordering again. They also have really good green salsa.

Ordered the taco dinner. Received a good amount of food. Meat was bland for the tacos. Service was excellent though.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in Countryside! Prices aren't too expensive, but the food is very tasty.

From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed with genuine hospitality. Doña Mari herself was taking orders and serving tables, which made the experience feel even more personal. I ordered the menudo, and it was absolutely delicious--rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. It came with fresh, homemade tortillas that took the meal to another level. They also serve café de olla, which was the perfect complement to the food. This isn't a fancy restaurant, and that's exactly what makes it special. It's warm, authentic, and full of heart. While at a workshop conference in the Chicago Lombard area, I decided to order dinner via Uber Eats…read morefrom Fajitas Mexican Restaurant. on a Wednesday evening. I was looking for something warm and flavorful after a long day, and chicken fajitas seemed like the perfect choice. I also ordered a side of rice and sour cream, but upon seeing how large of an amount of food was delivered, I think I may have been able to get by without the additional sides! The chicken fajitas meal included a generous amount of seasoned chicken, refried beans, rice, sour cream, lettuce, a flavorful side sauce, and flour tortillas. There were enough ingredients to make many delicious wraps! The best part of this dish was the chicken, extremely flavorful and well cooked! The flavors all blended together and everything tasted fresh and enjoyable. The tortillas, the flavor of the chicken and the standard sides created a very scrumptious meal! The only downside was that the delivery of my Uber Eats was a bit longer than I expected. However, the food was still great and enjoyed upon arrival. I would definitely be willing to order from Fajitas Mexican Restaurant again, however, I believe I would try dining in on the next occasion to enjoy the meal fresh from the kitchen!

This is an updated review, and unfortunately I'm writing this with a great deal of disappointment…read morebecause my previous experiences at La Cabanita had always been enjoyable. The food is normally very good and we've had many great visits over the years. This time, however, things were different. The experience itself wasn't up to the standards I've come to expect, but what really left me stunned happened afterward. Like many people, I was reconciling my monthly expense report and happened to compare my receipt to what was actually charged to my card. My signed receipt, including tip, clearly showed $69.99. However, when I checked my statement, I was charged $72.78. Now, we're not talking about some life-changing amount of money. It's only a few dollars. But that's almost what makes it worse. It wasn't some outrageous charge that immediately jumps out at you. It felt... sneaky. Maybe there's an explanation, and I sincerely hope there is, because it appears that Jose added a little something extra for himself after the fact. I honestly don't even know what to do. The amount isn't going to bankrupt me, but that's not really the point. When you trust a restaurant with your card, you expect the amount you signed for and the amount you're charged to be exactly the same. That's a pretty basic expectation. What makes this especially disappointing is that La Cabina Villa has always been one of my go-to places. I've recommended it to family and friends and have had many enjoyable meals there. A bad night in the kitchen can happen. Service issues can happen. But losing trust is much harder to recover from. At this point, I'm less angry than I am genuinely disappointed and confused. I never thought I'd find myself double-checking charges from a place I've enjoyed for years. Hopefully management can investigate this situation and provide some answers, because right now this experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Burritos the size of a half loaf of bread…read more In looking around Brookfield for a place to eat at before we hit up Galloping Ghost Arcade, every online comment pointed to trying Taco Azteca. My dad was down for some tacos so we hit up Taco Azteca before we got to gaming. I actually drove by the place, missing the turn to get there due to the strange parking lot situation. After a loop around the block, we pull in to the shared parking lot and headed inside. My dad was looking at the menu on the drive up and was waffling between a taco salad and a burrito. Once I placed my order for a beef burrito, my dad followed up with the same thing. We tried to find a place to sit but the place isn't too conducive to eating in with the few tables they had were either taken or dirty from the prior visitor. The staff was super nice and friendly in trying to get a table cleaned up for us. We ended up snagging one and were promptly served tortilla chips with some of the best guacamole I have ever had. I'm not big on guac as I find it to taste too similar to pumpkin (everyone I tell this looks at me like I am crazy) but this stuff was delicious and had a nice kick to it. My dad found the sauce in one of the bottles to be spicy as hell and passed on using more of it. I found them to be quite yummy but I love me some heat. We nearly devoured half the chips by the time the food came out. They were that good and the food came out that fast. I'm used to Mexican-sized burritos but these might take the cake. They were MASSIVE. I showed everyone I know and their eyes got huge when they saw how big it was. The fries that came with it were those with the little bits of batter on them and I knew they were going to be good. I knew we were in for a good time. How do you even eat something that big? Very slowly and somewhat messy, that's how. I devoured half my tasty fries to free up space on my plate just in case I made a mess. Luckily, this burrito held itself together rather nicely. The burrito was super tasty but I do feel like maybe a chicken or pork version would've been better. I like beef but wasn't in the mood for it when I ate my burrito. That's on me though for not paying attention when ordering and accidentally getting beef. My dad loved his burrito and was able to put the whole thing down since he didn't eat breakfast. I had breakfast so I was only able to put down a little over half. My bottomless pit of a stomach isn't so bottomless now that I am almost 40 (a week shy of 39 during this visit). Overall, Taco Azteca lived up to the hype and was worth every bite. I really wanted to get some of the guac to go. My only warning is that the parking lot is shared and can be tight as well as the seats inside. This place serves better for carry-out if it's busy like it was when we were there.

The food, service, and ambience were truly amazing. I don't say that lightly about many places…read more Let's start with the food: it was very well-seasoned, and the portion sizes were generous. This ties into the excellent service, as the food came out relatively quickly. The staff was friendly and engaged in conversation. One standout employee, Jose, continually checked to ensure that we had everything we needed and addressed any issues we had promptly. The ambience was clean, with staff wearing gloves while cooking. They were consistently cleaning, wiping down tables, and sweeping the floors. These are just a few aspects I look for when visiting a restaurant or food establishment.
