Ordered through Door Dash. Food came quickly. Food was really good. We got a chorizo quesadilla and a ground beef quesadilla. Chorizo was about as greasy as you would expect. We enjoyed the rice and beans. Churro was warm and crispy. The Pastelillo de Picadillo was wonderful. Even better was Relleno de Papa. I would go back just for that little bundle of yum. I frequent the la grange area quickly and if I have a taste for Mexican food, you can catch me at Brothers. I get take out 99% of the time, and usually get the burrito or steak dinner. The steak is really great, and all of the other ingredients are fresh. In terms of the size of the burrito, it's average although very flavorful. The only thing I'd wish they do, is to not cut the burrito in half. The torta is delicious, and the rice/beans compliment well. I've never had issues with them getting orders wrong either! I did sit down to eat once, when it was relatively slow(like one other customer in there), and the service was a little slow - had to wait a bit to get a check. All in all, a very solid spot, prices were decent, and the food hit the spot. read more

Used to order from here all the time and it was good. Food has been lacking the last few times we've ordered. Will not order again. Shrimp fajitas were pale, and the chicken looked gray. No flavor whatsoever. Scared to even eat it afraid I'm gonna get food poisoning just by the look of the food. Pound for pound, I put these tacos up against any other tacos in the area. I'm talking authentic Mexican tacos. Tortilla, steak, cilantro and onion. None of that lettuce and tomato and cheese stuff. Authentic Mexican street tacos. The corn tortillas are remarkably fresh, and they give the steak a slight char for a little added texture. Never too greasy, always just right. The salsa verde and red salsa that comes standard are amazing. The verde packs a little more heat. My only hack here would be to ask for easy on the cilantro and onion as they sometimes tend to load them up. Order the taco dinner and crush the best rice and refried beans ever. I have driven by this place many times, don't pass it up again, GO INSIDE and ENJOY what they have to offer. It's rather small inside, but great for a quick bite. I are usually don't make comments about the bathroom, but this place was really impressive...compared to what the rest of the establishment looks like...truly upscale bathrooms ....they are, clean, neat, and again upscale. So back to the food. You are served with the red salsa and the avocado Verde salsa (I don't know what it's called) it's the light green in one of the photos. The food is very good! Chimichangas are like nowhere else! I have found that if you are ordering online be very specific with special requests. I ordered steak tacos *cheesy (I got a lot of cheese but no other regular toppings) I have found that if I follow up my online order via phone, things go smoother. Also, I only do that when I place an order with a special request. One more thing to note is, they cut their burritos in half when serving. I would only do this by request because a burrito that is cut in half is twice as messy to eat (depending on the choice of fillings) I guess it depends on the chef's preference but I call No Bueno on that! So it's probably because I ordered food close to closing time, but the food was not up to it's usual standards. The nachos were supposed to have beans, but they were not present. An overload of sour cream was meant to compensate, but just made me grossed out. A $6 cheese quesadilla was small and greasy. The chile rellano tacos were decent, but lacking some flavor. My children enjoyed their steak torta. Delivery and tip were pretty much covered when you factor in their $10 off dinner coupon, but when all said and done it was around $46 for four menu items. The customer service was also excellent, the waitress greeted us as soon as we walked in and took our order as soon as we were ready, they were also very friendly. I only learned about this place within the last three months, and have ordered many times since! So happy to have a local place that sells Puerto Rican dishes, I love their pastelillo de picadillo, relleno de papa, maduros, and the jibarito (plantain sandwich I usually get with steak). The jibarito is messy but SO worth it! It comes with fries and rice, and is so filling. My mother loves their tacos, and the new online ordering is so easy to customize each taco now. The staff is super nice, and while the inside dinning is closed it's still a warm, welcoming and clean space. Love this place, will return again and again! read more

Never noticed Brothers before until it was pointed out to me. After checking Yelp, looked like it was worth a try. Convenient parking is available which made it easy. Restaurant seems like mostly a take out location but they do have about 10 tables, mostly booths. Since service is assisting both tables and take-out, we experienced a bit of delay in getting our order, but since we had fresh chips and salsas, we were content. And salsas were bueno. Menu has both Mexican and Puerto Rican specialities, but mostly Mexican. Prices are inexpensive. See my photos of the menu. I had the chicken, steak and pastor (pork) tacos on corn tortillas. I had guacamole on each ($0.50 extra for each). All were excellent. Not greasy at all. No cervesa as they don't have a liquor license. Service is friendly Came back for a second time. Not as good. Decided to try this fairly new place. Great menu, with familiar Mexican options and some unexpected dishes to sample. Salsas were not what we typically get around here - they were smooth textured. Two unique varieties came with free chips for the table and both were delicious. We also ordered a small guacamole appetizer- it was huge! It tasted like great homemade guac should, but we added a bit of salt, to our taste. For entree we had the Cuban Sandwich - and it was outstanding! Really so good, I almost wish I hadn't ordered it on my first visit, because now it's hard to imagine wanting anything else when I can have that. I had some issue with the arros. It seemed pre-packaged and had a flavor as such. Meat dishes were good, and the simple steak burrito with only cilantro and onions (my choice) exposed the honesty of the bistec which was without gristle, albeit a bit dry, but otherwise flavorful. The salsas are unique and will indeed be the tie-breaking draw. I love the flavors presented. An avocado, jalapeño blend with an eye-pleasing light green creamy recipe. The other salsa (and the name escapes me), is an inviting blend, I'm guessing, of a variety of peppers creating a creamy, burnt orange presentation beckoning you to dig in. Yes, the salsas here are what is going to be the tie breaker for the undecided for which Mexican establishment to pick. Atmosphere and seating are eh. Brightly lit, A bit much, especially after dark. Very clean, and care went into the remodel from the prior DINO's that occupied the space, but there's not much you can do with the space available. I've been for dinner and lunch and it was popular with customers curious about this new place. Wait staff are lovely in this full service restaurant. Not sure if it's new cooks or something to do with Sunday mornings but my god, horrible. The first bad experience they forgot sour cream and steak on our food. There are pros and cons to this place, especially in an area that has a fair amount of Mexican food establishments but they all are lacking in multiple ways. The pros -- Decent prices, a lot of menu choices, friendly staff, better food than any of the Mexican places in downtown La Grange, and multiple types of salsa at the table. The cons -- Food lacks flavor, the quality of their carne asada seems to vary each time I visit, and their chips seem to always be stale. I tried their jibarito with pork (they do have a Puerto Rican selection of menu items), but the plantains were crispy like a chip when they are supposed to be soft(er) like sandwich bread. Given the Mexican food situation in the area, this is one of the better places to go in the area. I think with a few tweaks they could offer a much better product for customers, and a more authentic flavor. read more

Brother's took over a sadly suffering restaurant that had some of the worst fast food I've ever tried. This place is a breath of fresh air compared to its predecessor! We ordered from here over the weekend and got our usuals- steak burrito for him, steak nachos for me (the diet starts on Monday). We also went for two of their turnovers (empanadas) just to add a little variety to our order. The orders came quickly and were fresh. With the nachos, it said it came with steak, salsa, sour cream, guac and a cheese dip. I requested subbing chihuahua cheese for any kind of cheese dip, which they graciously accommodated. The pico salsa and guac were clearly fresh. The steak is chopped up so finely that it was hard for me to get good scoops of it. The chips they use are a little thinner too so they were a little bit flimsy for the challenge, but overall it was still a very good dish. My husband liked his burrito, but also had the issue of the tortilla being too thin. Thankfully, he kept it in the foil and peeled it down as he ate, but the burrito kept splitting and kind of falling apart. The turnovers were simple but great. Savory ground beef in a dough shell. YUM. We will definitely consider this place again for our next Mexican fix. read more

Considering the great Mexican options a block south (hacienda cocula, cafe salsa, Pepe's etc) this place comes no where close. We ordered the chicken quesadilla app and it was ok - very greasy. For our main we ordered the steak fajitas and steak tacos. Both has almost no flavor, and the fajitas were not even brought out sizzling. I'm always on the hunt for a Mexican restaurant that has waiter service and a table cloth. That's hard to find. This place, like many others, is essentially a burrito place. I recently ordered pickup. The process was a bit chaotic with people standing around waiting for food. Once I home I realized that the food was outstanding. The red salsa is hot but delicious. The green salsa is smooth and also has a kick. Burrito was excellent. Tamales were okay. Enchiladas were okay. If Yelp allowed for it I'd give them 3.5/5.0 stars. Enchiladas just the way i like them. All the portions were the right amount id like to be served for a plate dinner. I like that they use v&v cheese just like at home. The parking is great not a busy strip mall, easy in and out access. service was at norm and the food was served before i took my first soda drink.
