We had some time to wait before the donation center up the street opened so we decided to go get breakfast. Based on a recommendation we decided to try the taqueria that was just up the block. You definitely get the old diner vibe when you walk in...all booths and counter service. The place wasn't very busy, but it was a Monday morning. We were seated immediately in one of the booths. I ordered chilaquiles and my husband ordered huevos rancheros. The food was excellent...you could almost taste the love and care that went into preparing it. Before we left they let us know their holiday open schedule...I gotta say, we might just be starting a new Christmas tradition this year.

Ok being half Mexican and growing up in Az I like to think I know good Mexican food. This place is on point. The food is fresh and amazing. I have been here twice now and both times have been very happy. If you're close and need to eat this place is a must. It is cost and clean and the lady is very sweet.

The food there was very good, authentic, and was presented well. The prices were very reasonable for a lot of food and I thought it was great value. The service there was also quick and the people were very nice. It was an all in all 10/10 experience

Delicious food and such nice service everyone is so kind.

Food is terrific and the people are so nice. The place is clean and smells so good and everyone was kind there.

The service is very hospitable and quick. We ordered the chicken tamales plate which came with rice and beans. Then we got the carne asada tacos and a horchata. Our favorite was definitely the tamales. The green sauce was tangy with a little bit of spice. It just left us wanting to eat it again for our next meal. The tacos were loaded with meat which we appreciated. The meat did taste different than most steak tacos, it had a very similar flavor to phó. I didn't mind it, I thought it made it unique. The horchata was a little chalky but still satisfying. Overall, a solid spot for some comfort foods.

Unassuming, authentic, friendly service... this perfectly sums up this adorable spot. It was a warm summer afternoon when my husband and I stopped here with our baby for a much needed "out of the house time". The women who seated and served us was such a gem, really friendly, kind and doted on us as we were the only people there at the time. We both chugged the large plentiful horchatas which were perfect for such a warm day. My husband enjoyed the birria tacos which he said were the best he's ever had, and I tried the classic street tacos with chicken. In the end we also couldn't help ourselves and tried a caramel filled churro. The service was excellent, the food was literally perfect, and honestly it felt like home. Looking forward to coming back!

100% authentic Mexican food!! That's coming from a mexicana herself! They got some tamarindo candy in here and some paletas, that's how you know it's gonna be fucking good!! Lol. We got the sopes, burrito de asada y carne asada fries. Soooo good!! They also have Birria! Recommend!

She took SUCH good care of us and was super knowledgeable about the menu items and market prices. We got our drinks within minutes and she made sure they were never empty. Not to mention, she checked in on us multiple times during our visit. I ordered the combo # 2 and added a Dungeness crab to it. That bad boy was FRESH. The whole boil was dripping in sauce, cooked perfectly and let me tell you... the Louisiana flavor seasoning is IT!! It's the perfect mix of Cajun and garlic butter. The main star was definitely the Dungeness, but the snow crab was a close second! The legs were a really good size and full of meat! The shrimp was great too! (I always get head-on) I left soooo full and satisfied! Overall, the food was amazing and the service was the best I have received in years.. We will be back soon!

Mixed Bag (o crab)…read more The food was almost all great. We tried garlic fries, salad, clam chowder, snow crab, king crab, and lobster. DS picked this restaurant for celebrating his 18th b-day, so it was disappointing that his king crab was twice as expensive as the snow crab and not great quality. Everything else was great - fresh, saucy, and well-seasoned. I liked that we could add potatoes and sausages to fill out our meal. The service was weird. Our waitress was really sweet and friendly, but seemed clueless. There was nothing on the table - no napkins or salt shakers or utensils. I had to ask for a fork for my salad, then for utensils for the crabs. The ambience was a mixed bag. There was a homeless guy next to our van and signs of a recent campfire. The restaurant was mostly empty, but they didn't offer my family a booth - we had to sit with our kids at a table in the bar. The lighting was good. It was very frustrating not to have metal forks and crab picks. It feels like a high end restaurant, but the utensils are cheep disposable plastic and there was a weird robot was talking too loudly in a weird high pitched girlish voice. The bathroom was really dirty. Overall, I would eat here if someone else were paying because the food was mostly great. For the price, I would want a few improvements.

Apparently, unlike the Napa/Sonoma area, Willamette wine country is not known for food, but after…read moresome research, we came across Cozy Taberna, which is a tapas style place in downtown Salem. We reserved on Tock, and it was mostly full on a Friday night. Drinks: lots of local beers are available, but I went with the Pineapple Express: she warned it was spicy, and it indeed was (in a really good way). All of the food is done family style: - Clams Galicia: with tomato, chorizo, bacon broth. This broth as amazing. I literally drank it with a spoon - Pan con tomate: slightly different from classic preparation - more flavorful and heavier on the toppings - Salmorejo: tomato and bread puree, Serrano, jammy egg - like a creamy gazpacho - Grilled asparagus: with whipped ricotta and a cured egg yolk - Squid ink pasta: with hazelnuts, caramelized onions, peppers, and a runny egg yolk, a bit spicy. This dish was my favorite - Honey brined pork chop with a basque piperade sauce The servers were all great about checking in. I would definitely recommend the squid ink pasta and the clams if you're in town!
