    Lobster Enchiladas

Nice restaurant. The menu is fairly large, with a lot of choices. Service was good, no complaints. The dish I wanted to try was sold out, so I'll have to come back another day and try it. I ordered Shrimp Enchiladas. They were very filling and delicious. My wife ordered Lobster Enchiladas, and thought it was very good. She was not able to finish her dinner and took it home to have for lunch the next day. We'll certainly return. Frida's is one of the better Mexican restaurants in Salem.

Margarita Flight (3.5/5) Variety is good, decent price, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Overall I would say it is a 3.5 of 5 starts. Ambiance was good, sort of loud maybe because of the close proximity to other tables but it's also a bonus to see other people's food/drinks! Service was okay. After the food was brought to us we weren't really checked on.

We went for a late lunch. The $8 lunch menu has many options. There was only one waiter on staff in our section but he was attentive, friendly, and polite. We will definitely be back to try the other lunch options, I mean where can you get a full meal for $8 plus chips, beans, and salsa!

Wow flavors were amazing and portions very generous! The menu offered such a big variety but every plate we ordered were excellent! Vibe was great on a Friday night; perfect place for a large party!

What a great find! The decor is bright & colorful with so many nods to Frida. Our server was terrific & knew just what drink to suggest. She recommended the honeydew margarita, saying "it makes me cry every time." My daughter totally agrees & enjoyed her choice very much. I imbibed in a decent glass of mezcal. For our food, we ordered the shrimp ceviche tostadas & potato nachos. The nachos were okay, but the star of the meal were definitely the tostadas! A taste of Baja in every bite!! Loved coming here & would absolutely do it again!

Came here for my Birthday. Left so disappointed. My chilaquiles so so tart and sour It Upset my stomach. Only was able to eat the eggs and steak pieces on it. Drinks are good. Food not so much. Partner ordered a steal plate but asked if he could only have the skirt steak rice and beans . They told him they could do that for him but he will still have to pay fulllll price! We said find cause we were sooo hungry hence not having pictures of the food. But what was additional to his plate that they still charged for was a shrimp skewer, nopal, and bone marrow . It was outrageous. Its beautiful in there. But the price an how much they help is crazy. Again would only go for DRINKS

Had to eat my $40 dinner off the lid to the tortillas.

One star for atmosphere - it is clear this is their priority, this place is beautiful inside! Very instagram-ready. Dark, cool flowers and murals everywhere, modern tiling and styles throughout... unfortunately it is nightclub LOUD in there. Over 90 decibels according to an app on my iPhone. We asked to sit outside just so we could hear each other, which was gladly accommodated. Outside was quieter but we still had to keep going, "WHAT?!" One star for the food - we split the fajitas for two and the meat was sooo good! Yum! Good guacamole and beans too, and the tortillas were fresh and on point. Also my husband got a mojito and it was super yummy - very fresh! Had to lose 3 stars though: -1 for value/price. No prices on the drink menu - the mojito that was so yummy wqs $15! It was WEAK for being that expensive. -1 for service. We got chips and salsa right away, but then sat about 40 minutes. Our server finally came and was friendly enough, but wow - I was in the verge of leaving before she came. -1 for presentation - they never brought plates! For a dish called "fajitas for 2." I even asked when the meat was dropped off and she promised to bring more then we never saw her again. Wound up eating off the lid to the tortillas. This is super poor. No one ever came to check on us, they never brought more chips. I had to flag down the (super busy and hard working!) busboy and ask for a box and the bill. -1 for parking - tight lot, and very hard to get in and out. Be aware, especially if you have a bigger vehicle. So... the food was great and it was pretty, but I probably won't be back. The service and value just weren't there. La Hacienda remains king!

Amazing as always, super friendly staff and amazing drinks and food

Great authentic Mexican food. I love the presentation for many of the dishes. Not going to lie, I mainly ordered the taquitos because I wanted to play with the cart it was served in. The drinks were HUGE that it's enough to share. Decor is like outdoor Mexican patio and there were some servers who didn't know any English, but can kindly direct you to someone who does.

    Tostada and Enchilada lunch special

Fridas was an amazing experience. The $8 lunch menu had a great selection and the servings were plentiful. Our waitress was attentive and quick. The ambiance was relaxing and inviting. Overall a great experience.

He is very kind. It is obvious he puts care into having his meat ready to cook and marinated and seasoned greatly. (#1) For years when this taco cart operated along Portland Road (#2) it was low on the radar but known in the community. Fast forward a few years, it's not quite a brick & mortar, but a space for patrons to sit inside to enjoy their food while everything is cooked outside on a cart. The format isn't for everyone (#3), but it's right up my alley. Beyond the colorful murals along the interior and spacious seating, this is still very much a dive. The place is open typically at night and the cloud of grease that permeates the room from all the fatty meats being grilled up. The ventilation is questionable and the seating (fold up chairs and plastic tables) is hardly glamorous. I don't know if I'd have it any other way. For some folks, seeing certain taco meats sitting in a pool of lard / fat / questionable liquid might be an eyesore but once the grilling begins it's a new ballgame. I enjoy almost all the meats, whether it's their famous al pastor sitting on a tromp with a pineapple on top, or their variety of cecina, carnitas, cabeza (cheek, mainly), barbacoa, and asada. There's no guarantee of what they'll have on any given night, so I'm usually good with whatever they have available. The charred grill is also the same place for their tortillas, which are also fried in said lard, and give off this smokiness that might not be everyone's cup of tea. I think their barbacoa, which is chivo (#4) style, is really the best thing they have. The meat is incredibly tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It completely encapsulates their namesake in "ricos tacos" as one of their signature items. As always, it is cash only and speaking Spanish is a must. I'm not saying it's the best taqueria in the city, but for late night eats, it's certainly one of ones to beat. __________ (#1) Aka "The Godfather" (#2) Twas another time: https://www.yelp.com/biz/taqueria-el-padrino-salem (#3) Real talk: Most folks in Salem will likely never go to a place like this. That's really too bad. (#4) Goat, my amigos.

Driven past Alberto's for years and finally decided to stop in. After seeing it so many times…read morewithout trying it, I went in more curious than expectant. I left pleasantly surprised. My first impression was positive. The establishment was clean, brightly colored, and filled with natural light. The dining area is relatively small, with a modest number of tables and chairs, but it felt comfortable rather than cramped. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming. The employees were friendly, and the service was notably fast without feeling rushed. I ordered the chicken burrito for $8.99, genuinely unsure what that price point would translate to in size or quality. The answer was immediate. This was a substantial burrito, roughly 10 inches long, and packed from end to end with filling. Not one of those burritos that gives the illusion of size but turns out to be mostly tortilla. Once opened, the cross-section told the story clearly: generous meat, a good mix of fresh ingredients, and a burrito that looked thoughtfully assembled rather than carelessly thrown together. The flavor matched the appearance. It was hearty, satisfying, and exactly what one hopes for in a burrito. The chicken was flavorful, the ingredients worked well together, and nothing about it felt skimpy. The tortilla had a light browning to it, which added both texture and visual appeal. Just as important, it was wrapped exceptionally well. For a burrito this full, that matters. It held together while eating, keeping the filling where it belonged rather than turning into a mess halfway through. Another detail worth mentioning was the sauce selection. Having multiple options from mild to hot allowed for some customization, and they were worth sampling. They added another layer to the meal rather than feeling like an afterthought. What stood out most was the overall value. Quality, quantity, speed, and price do not always align this well, but here they did. For $8.99, the portion was generous, the food was flavorful, and the service was efficient. Add in the fact that Alberto's is open 24 hours a day, and it becomes even more appealing. In the end, what impressed me most was not simply the size of the burrito, but the fact that the entire experience felt solid across the board: clean setting, friendly staff, fast service, fair pricing, and food that delivered. After driving past this place for years, I can say it was worth finally stopping in. I would return.
