My friend and I went on a girls day and decided to try this cute place we've seen on tik tok! The decorations were absolutely pretty! For drink we got a margarita flight, watermelon, mango, peach and hibiscus. 10/10 For appetizers we got the coconut prawns, they were a little on the sweet side but good flavor. We also got the cheese dip, and oh my gosh! So good! Highly recommend to eat it first. 10/10 And for our main entre we got the fiesta Nayarit, the shrimp had a nice sauce over it that had just a little bit of heat, the carne asada was delicious! And on a plus side, they make their tortillas in house! The only thing I wish had a bigger portion would have been the rice and beans, you get about 4oz give or take. There's a stunning tree right in the center that gives the whole space this magical, almost storybook feel, surrounded by vibrant Mexican touches that make everything feel warm and intentional. My husband asked questions when we were seated about the drinks. When they came they both tasted great. Our food came out not long after we ordered and we were not disappointed. My husband ordered the 3 combo dinner with Chimichanga, burrito and tostada. I got the Birrea . I normally go for seafood but decided to go outside my comfort zone. The taste was wonderful. Nice restaurant. The menu is fairly large, with a lot of choices. Service was good, no complaints. The dish I wanted to try was sold out, so I'll have to come back another day and try it. I ordered Shrimp Enchiladas. They were very filling and delicious. My wife ordered Lobster Enchiladas, and thought it was very good. The first few times we ate here, the food was amazing. Unfortunately over time, it seems corners are being cut. For example, on an enchilada order today, it was obvious they took a cooked hamburger and cut it up and put it into tortillas, and the meat was hard and unflavored... whereas the expectation and past experience was a delightful, seasoned fine ground beef. Don't think I will be returning for a while... maybe with a reduction of customers they will go back to their original higher quality products. read more

Have been here twice (so far). It's close by our house so convenience makes it a desirable location. We shared a plate of fajitas first time we dined here and both had a Cadillac Margarita. We sat at the bar that time which we don't often do (except times where it will shorten the wait time to be seated). The Fajitas and margaritas were good. Unfortunately we had a grumpy customer next to us that left almost all of his dinner without finishing it. I couldn't hear what he complained about but for some reason he never said anything to staff about what was wrong until he got the check. Even though he was clearly upset and even rude, the server was still graceful and still offered to remake or replace his order. We went again a few days ago and I had the fish taco dinner and my wife had the tortilla soup. She commented to me that her soup was delicious. We both also had margaritas. As for my tacos? No bueno! The pieces of fish pieces in the tacos were greasy and gummy. And nope, I didn't complain. I was guilty of not wanting to deal with sending them back. Probably the same as the guy we sat next to at our previous visit. One thing for sure, if I do go back I won't be ordering any fish tacos from them. Really nice atmosphere. Reminds me of the Margarita Factory in PDX. Margaritas were delicious - pineapple/jalapeno and mango. They were very tasty and the best part of the meal. Ordered shrimp and halibut tacos. TBH, they were a bit bland. Not a lot of favor. Service - Interestingly, after we were seated, a staff delivered chips and salsa, asked us a few questions. We weren't ready to order. A 2nd person came over to take our drink order and we ordered food. She stated that she would get our server for the food order. A 3rd server came over to ask if we had ordered. However, the 2nd server inputted our order anyway. We were getting confused as to who was our server. A fourth server delivered our food. They were all wearing mics and headphones. But, the communication is terrible. We needed extra napkins after chips, salsa, and fish tacos. Asked one of the four servers for napkins. She never came back. I went to the restroom to wash my hands. Then it took a little bit for the fourth server to clear our plates and the third came back to collect the bill. We ordered a combo plate and one ala cart enchilada. The food showed up so fast, 5-7 minutes later, we couldn't believe it! Our drinks hadn't even arrived yet. That should have been a first clue. Partner ordered a steal plate but asked if he could only have the skirt steak rice and beans . They told him they could do that for him but he will still have to pay fulllll price! We said find cause we were sooo hungry hence not having pictures of the food. But what was additional to his plate that they still charged for was a shrimp skewer, nopal, and bone marrow . What a great find! The decor is bright & colorful with so many nods to Frida. Our server was terrific & knew just what drink to suggest. She recommended the honeydew margarita, saying "it makes me cry every time." My daughter totally agrees & enjoyed her choice very much. I imbibed in a decent glass of mezcal. Stopped in for lunch on the way out of town, at the recommendation of family who live in the area. Nice, but slow service. Clean and decorated in very cool way. Showy and big, if that makes sense. Also my husband got a mojito and it was super yummy - very fresh! Had to lose 3 stars though: -1 for value/price. No prices on the drink menu - the mojito that was so yummy wqs $15! It was WEAK for being that expensive. -1 for service. We got chips and salsa right away, but then sat about 40 minutes. Our server finally came and was friendly enough, but wow - I was in the verge of leaving before she came. -1 for presentation - they never brought plates! For a dish called "fajitas for 2." I even asked when the meat was dropped off and she promised to bring more then we never saw her again. Wound up eating off the lid to the tortillas. This is super poor. No one ever came to check on us, they never brought more chips. I had to flag down the (super busy and hard working!) busboy and ask for a box and the bill. -1 for parking - tight lot, and very hard to get in and out. This was the first time I came here and I took my dad. Our first waitress wasn't very warm, welcoming, friendly and didn't put much effort into really....anything.. not even a hi, hello... just a "you ready" as soon as we got sat. The next waitress was great, she was friendly and checked in on us periodically to make sure we were doing ok or needed anything. I ordered the pollo crema enchiladas and my dad got this massive burrito. Mine was not bad, but the chicken was pretty dry. I asked my dad how his burrito was he said it was okay but there was a lot of rice and beans in it. The flan was really good. I was expecting it to be smaller than what it was, its a big size. The decor is great, it is a very vibey place and different than what you're used to from the other restaurants in Salem which is a nice change. Prices are higher for a lot of the items on the menu. I had high hopes and I guess expectations. But I am giving this a 4/5. If it was out of 10 it would be around a 7.5 read more

I went opening week, so it was very busy. Beautiful decor, seating is ample and oriented for standard dining, but you can also glance at the TV if a game is on. Second time we've came here. This time was better than the first! Servers were amazing, they were constantly checking in on us and we were attended to very well even with a full house. Food came out within 15-20 minutes. Music non stop, not too loud. Most of the group had the macho burritos, some had the quesabirrias, nachos and asada fries. The macho burritos are pretty big, filled up my teen boys. The large na ch is age enough to feed 2-3 people easily. My teen daughter couldn't finish the asada fries in her own, a big portion. TLDR - Food is ok, service is pleasant. This will not be the first place I go next time I am in the mood for Mexican. As of February, Frida's is very popular! We arrived at 4:30pm on a Sunday and the parking lot was full. The bank next door is closed so there is parking there. The servers are attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is nice. Different than most Mexican restaurants. Kind of dark and loud but there are many TV's if you like to watch sports. The food is OK. One of us had the fajitas. They were so-so. The grilled peppers were "terrible" but the rest of the dis was not bad. One of us had the fish tacos. They were also so-so. Lots of extra sauces and garnishments but the actual fish wasn't great. One of us had the chicken quesadillas. They were probably the best of the four dishes we had. However, one side of the quesadilla was grilled and crispy but the other side was soggy, making them difficult to pick up. The taquitos were also so-so. Not bad but nothing spectacular. The timing of our food was very off. The fajitas came out first but didn't come with any tortillas until we asked. After about 5 minutes our server took the fajitas back because none of the other food had arrived. After a few minutes 3 of the 4 dishes came to the table but we had to ask about the 4th. I will chalk this up to being a new restaurant and a very busy restaurant. They are still working out the kinks. Only one of us ordered a margarita and it came in a small cocktail glass. It breaks my heart to see a brand new place not provide some quality food. Though this place is so busy, I have a Mexican family and none of them have had a good experience. Personally, I didn't have that great of an experience either when it comes to the food. I ordered mole chicken enchiladas, the mole was super good! But the enchiladas were extremely dry and due to this issue most of the chicken was getting pulled out with every bite.. basically, the enchilada just fell apart when I started cutting it. My mother in law also had a pretty terrible experience with the food. When I had asked her what she thought about the food she basically said she's planning on never going there again. It was a huge letdown. The servers were pretty quick though and the environment was really nice! Two stars instead of one because at least the mole was still pretty good! read more
