I ordered tripa, labio, barbacoa, and pastor tacos + Banana Cream Matcha. Worth the hype. The best barbacoa I've had in recent memory. Labio and pastor were tender and solid. Tripa was also cooked nicely but not adequately cleaned before. I was naturally sceptical about the matcha latte made in a taqueria but it was actually good. Next time I want to try one of the cold brews. Friend liked his Cloud Nine Matcha (coconut water, agave, matcha). Service was good and friendly. Little seating inside.

Finally went to try the matchas. I love that it's family run and would love to come back to try their food too. Service is super fast. There a small grocery section, the kitchen and the drink bar. Has seating inside. The drink flavors are fun and the season changes keep it fresh. I love the Brazilian limeade matcha - lime with condensed milk + matcha. It's refreshing and vibrant. The condensed milk makes it less tart. Would make a really good slushie too. The banana cream foam top matcha latte was also tasty. The cream was smooth and full of banana flavor. The crumbs on top were a pretty visual and extra texture. I also suggested a blended fresh watermelon + coconut milk topped with matcha or matcha foam as a possible next flavor. The owner said she'll test it! Fingers crossed I get to try it here.

The tacos and burritos were obviously great, but I'm not sure why this spot is blowing up as a matcha spot. To be fair I'm not a huge matcha girly, but I thought the matcha was just fine and now there's always a longer line. Definitely get the food though!!

My favorite little taco bodega spot just got a whole lot better by adding matcha drinks to their menu! So cool to see this concept come to life. Matcha and tacos what else do you need? I love that the owners daughter is the main barista and she crafts her drinks made to order and whisks away for fresh matcha drinks. Banana cream matcha is amazing with their pre-made mix to top off. Their drinks are mostly all $8 and a perfect treat any time of the day!

Stumbled across El Jardin on my summer job. I appreciate the neighborhood vibe of this place. Handful of workers, a police officer and a mom pushing a stroller were inside. Two attentive counter workers... 1 was on beverages... and a grill man. Some people would argue that 10a is too early for tacos. Those people would be wrong. The steak was phenomenal... a little charred but still tender and juicy. The pastor (and I know we're spoiled) would get a grade of a B. The lady after me ordered an horchata matcha. I wished I had done that.

Came here because I saw they had matcha. It was a little wait but absolutely so good. The banana crème was my favorite and the cloud nine which is coconut water and matcha crème on top it tastes so refreshing. I would say the matcha is really good no butter taste and it really brings out the flavor. Will be coming back soon when they have their cookie butter matcha which I would like to try. This is inside a taco place and it's pretty hidden if you don't venture out to this side of the city a lot. Very authentic and I could tell service is great here. I will be coming back to try their tacos and other things on the menu. It's also like grocery items you can buy as well.

i've been going here since 2010! the food has always been some of my favorite mexican food in the city. the location is family owned and everyone in the family is delightfully sweet and caring. They care about the product they put out as well as the quality which i love. This year they started selling matcha and cold brew, and they are really hitting it off with the product! my little hidden gem is not so hidden anymore, but I am very happy for the family. They deserve it. my favorite drink is their cold brew, no agave, add taro cold foam! and my go too is always steak tacos!

Taco Special (pastor), banana cream matcha, and Luis!

Perfect in every way. Matcha was what I came here for, but the food smelled sooo good that I ended up getting the pastor taco special too! Price is amazing ($8 for 2 tacos and rice) and both the matcha and food were incredible. Got a banana cream matcha, super fresh banana flavor and not too sweet. Sat on the stools in front of the flat top(highly recommend) and Luis checked in on me through the glass twice and then introduced himself! Such a sweetie, and tacos come with 22 years of experience doing it. So awesome, service was wonderful and fast, will tell all of my friends and be back next week.

Cloud 9, Brazilian limeade and the Maple brown sugar matcha latte

This spot was a 10/10, I visited with my sister and was warmly greeted by the staff. Tried out three matchas, the Brazilian limeade, cloud nine and Maple brown sugar matcha latte! All so refreshing and not insanely sweet and all had such wonderful flavors to them! Tried out their tacos de asada and al pastor and they did not disappoint as they were juicy and well seasoned. Nice clean yet cozy ambience that had a homey charm to it! There was a nice seating area where we enjoyed our meal. I highly suggest visiting this place for their matcha and tacos!! Will certainly be back for more

They have MATCHA!! Flavor options are regular, horchata and banana bread with oatmilk or whole milk. Super courteous staff, plus the food is always amazing. Half convenient store, half restaurant. They have seats for you to wait for your food if you are taking it to go too!

I love getting lunch here! The staff is very friendly and there's a ton of snacks available as well. Service is always quick and friendly.

Inside chicken burrito-really impressed they use their fried chicken in it (which is DELICIOUS)
    Kristen C.

This place is where it's at! Passing it you're not sure but one of the best chile relleno and burritos I've had in the city. The fried chicken here looked outstanding also! Good for takeout but some tables in a clean sitting area. Affordable prices, super nice owner, large menu with he generous portions and most importantly DELICIOUS food! The chicken is their pulled fried chicken...wasn't sure about at first but a few bites in and I was sold! Packed with cheese and ingredients... Nothing was messy and ready quick for it being a 1 man operation. I feel like an idiot not getting here sooner...but I'm hooked now! Tried husbands rice and beans... usually I don't do the beans but theirs were outstanding and would order next time!

Time to be seated was less than five minutes for a party of four around 2:20 PM on a Sunday; busier times or days enforce their 90 minute time limit policy per table. The food was well seasoned, wish I tasted it a little more on the meat itself, yet all the vegetables tasted crisp and fresh. If you are looking to have intimate conversations be prepared to speak a lot louder, the DJ booth by the front keeps it pretty lively, but difficult to hold conversations across the table. Open authentic Mexican soda is always refreshing, and if you're looking for a place that has soft serve margaritas this is one of them. If you notice and unusual wait time or slow service please make your choice accordingly as I started to notice it was a case by case basis like some of the previous reviews had mentioned.

Both adults and the VERY picky children in our group all enjoyed our meals. I ordered the green chicken enchiladas and the other adult ordered a chile relleno combo, which I also got to try. Everything was delicious and devoured by all! We were so full but the owner talked us into the chocoflan, and we did not regret trying it. It was soooo good! Speaking of the owner, the service was great. We really enjoyed how he and the rest of the staff were very courteous.
