I've been coming here for almost 10 years I wanna say and when I'm craving a lengua burrito that never disappoints I go here. Some places skimp on the lengua because it's since become and expensive cut but not El kiosko. It's tender and delicious. They've moved their location to a much larger location since then and it's so nice. Well deserved. The parking lot is huge so don't worry about that. When we came in we were told to choose a seat wherever we'd like then promptly served chips and salsa. The salsa was so good. We got to try their taco Tuesday for the first time and the Al pastor was so flavorful and they make the carnitas super crispy. We were also surprised to see they now have a full bar. We ordered a cantarito and although yummy, I didn't think they put the right amount of alcohol for how massive the cup is but that's alright it was good nonetheless:) Salsa bar was nice and full both times we came to the new location and kept clean between uses. Do not buy the tamales unless you want to feel scammed. First of all there was barely any meat filling. It was enough for one bite. The meat was not seasoned well and was also very dry. The rest is all masa. The masa isn't even good. It was very dry and not moist like it's supposed to be. It has a weird sour tang to it as well. They also charged me almost $3 for a small thing of sour cream as well. Super disappointing. read more

I'm surprised I haven't gotten to review this place; the first time I came here to eat was 3 or so years ago; this place is too good to pass up! For this visit I only did takeout, though I did get a chance to go inside with my friends as we were waiting for our orders. It's bright and extremely casual inside with ample seating, though nearly everyone that came in did takeout like we did. And there were people constantly coming in and out for the food here! Staff was quick in prepping everything and asking if we wanted extra sauce on the side. I got their carnitas plate, and as a takeout portions are huge here! Meat was flavorful, tender and savory; the jalapeños added a nice spice to the dish; and the extra sauces on the side added even more spice onto it that I enjoyed. The dish was wrapped well in a disposable aluminum plate and covered as well. This went for all of our orders, which included the burrito plate and taco salad. This place is easily one I'd come back to for Mexican food at a great price and quality! read more

I love that I can count on El Kiosko to make a great burrito, great tacos, have fresh chips, ... I love that they are in a larger location now and can cater to more people. This place may be small, but it is absolutely mighty! We usually order our meals to go since the seating is pretty limited, but the food is consistently delicious. Truly, everything on the menu is fantastic, you really can't go wrong here. Our go-to order is the Carnitas Plate. The pork is tender and flavorful with plenty of those crispy bits I personally love. I always request mine without rice, and they are always happy to accommodate any preference. The staff is warm, welcoming, and consistently friendly, which makes every visit dine-in or takeout, a great experience. read more

I visited this spot with a friend for lunch and we had a nice experience. I went for the chilaquiles plate, my friend chose the burrito plate, and we shared an order of asada fries. It's a small place where you order at the counter and then grab a seat; there's a bit of outdoor seating available too. Our food came out in about 10-15 minutes. My chilaquiles plate came with a fried egg, Spanish rice, lettuce, sour cream, and refried beans. The burrito plate was similar, minus the egg. The Spanish rice was fresh and tasty, and the lettuce crisp and good. The beans, however, lacked flavor. The eggs and chilaquiles were well-seasoned and enjoyable. The asada fries were generously portioned and overall solid--I'd recommend them. My friend also liked the burrito. read more

We like Mexican food and have eaten at fast-food restaurants as well as dine-in restaurants. El Kiosko is not merely a secret hole-in-the-wall in the Renton dining scene. It's that reliable neighborhood restaurant; your go-to, if you want something both tasty and familiar. At least 20 different dishes flash on the menu-screens. The friendly cashier also packs your to-go-order and delivers your food to you, hot from the window to your table - hot sauce bottles in hand. That's service! I ordered two beef tacos with flour tortilla. And since I was extra hungry, I ordered chicken burrito platter - served with a healthy dose of sauce refried beans, rice, and topped with sour cream and guacamole (didn't need to ask for it. It just came with it). For fun, what I ordered would've been comparable in price to Taco Bell or Taco Time (not to disparage the two chains). However. food quality wise my tummy was definitely happy. This shop is amazing. The food is always good, and it's super fast. I keep a small menu in my kitchen drawer and we call the order in ahead and it's always ready promptly when we arrive after 20 minutes. This has become our go-to for Mexican take out. The shop is small, only a couple of tables, so we always do take out. And the team here is awesome, super friendly. The tacos are awesome, that's 90% of what we get here, but my wife always gets the sopes, and my son loves the tamales also. I have had the tacos al carbon, and also just the basic tacos. Last time I tried the enchiladas, and it was good, but I will go back to the tacos. Definitely recommend this restaurant for any meal. read more

One of my favorite taco places in Renton. One of those few places that doesn't dry out their chicken. That alone makes it a 5 star situation. Staff is super patient and helpful when ordering. There are places to sit inside and out, however it's tight inside. Grab and go may be the best option unless you go when it's not super busy. I came from LA. That should tell you how much I take tacos seriously. This is definitely a hole in the wall kind of taco place in Renton. But don't sleep on it. The inside of the restaurant is simple but clean. I came in a somewhat warm and smoky day, so I sat inside which has an AC running so it's perfect sitting inside. Food is brought to you if you are dining in. The server asked if I wanted some limes and hot sauce. Compared to the pictures here from other Yelpers, they have definitely removed the sauce bar. Instead, they bag their limes and bring you bottles of their salsa each table upon request. Their taco meat (asada & pastor) are pretty flavorful, and served hot! So you know they are not just sitting there for long and they just scope it up for you. They need to use 4 TVs to display their menu, so you know that's an extensive menu right there. I got the #1, four tacos plate ($9.99+ tax) with two asada (beef) and pastor (spicy pork). Service is pretty fast about 5-10minutes after order and they served up my food, even though there's been a lot of people coming in/out picking up their to-gos. The only reasons I gave 4 out of 5 stars: - I would prefer to be able to get any number of tacos if I want it instead of at a plate of four tacos. Four tacos is not enough, eight is too much. Sweet spot would have been 6 tacos imo. - A table next to us (Hispanic) was served right before we left was asked if they wanted grilled onions and their pickled vegetables on too, but my party (Asian) wasn't asked if we wanted it. I would love to have some charred grilled onions and jalapenos to go with my tacos for the full experience. Otherwise, the experience was great, food is affordable and tasted great! Kind of mixed feelings. My husband loves the tongue burrito, perfect every time. I love chicken fajita. Theirs have always been very good. Except one time I went in late afternoon I ordered and it was awesome. Fresh chicken and large slices of onions and peppers. Every time since it has been below subpar. It's not easy to find great authentic Mexican food, although there are a number of places that are decent. El Kiosko is definitely one of my top go-to spots and a good value too. You must try the chicken taquitos & guacamole plate, which is far better than anywhere else i've tried. These are not dry at all, but very large and flavorful, with a perfectly crispy outside and it comes with rice, beans, sour cream and guacamole. My other favorite dish is the carne asada sopes, which are thick fried corn flour shells loaded with meat, beans, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes etc. Honorable mention goes to the carne asada plate, carnitas tacos, tamales plate, and their chorizo breakfast burrito. It has a small dining area inside, so I usually get it to go, and there's outside seating when the weather is nice. Oh and they make very good red/green hot sauces, plus pickled peppers & onions which are nice. read more

This place is legit if you're looking for good Mexican food in Renton! Located near Downtown Renton, I always have to stop here for some food before heading back home. It's no frills, the menu is on the wall with pictures, and you basically can't go wrong with anything here. A friend of mine recommended the Botana de Carnitas and it's now what I normally order. The plate is a big portion and it has plenty of jalapenos and tomatoes to go with your tortillas. I took my friends the last time I was craving Mexican food in Renton and they got the burrito plate and enchiladas. Again, big portions, good price, and are stomachs were full. We came in this morning for a much needed chorizo breakfast burrito. We have had this before and absolutely loved it, so we got it again and decided to try something we never had before. We chose the Arroz con Pollo (#42) and it did not disappoint. We ordered our food to go and were on our way within ten minutes. I would absolutely dine in had our plans today allowed that-it was clean and a very chill place to be. We should have gotten more of their hot sauces-both the red and the green. Seriously some of the BEST tacos and food in general I've had in a long time. I've tried about 10 mexican spots in the area and none of them had delicious EVERYTHING like El Kioski does. The meat, tortillas, salsas, rice, and beans are all equally important to me. I'm sure even the napkins here taste good I ordered pastor tacos with rice and beans, and my girlfriend ordered posole. The meat was tender and delicious, the tortillas were warm and so soft. The rice was flavorful and the beans were perfectly seasoned. The posole was so yummy and comforting, comes with a side of a house spice blend, diced onions and jalapenos. We got a bone section in ours and that's how you know it's good and homemade. I ate my entire plate, scraped it clean with my fork and everything! I particularly love that they aren't frugal with the salsas, they give you big squeeze bottles for your group when you dine in. They had the Texans v. Patriots game on the TV, and with the great food, it was truly the best way to enjoy the chilly but sunny Sunday afternoon. It got so busy that we decided to leave shortly after finishing up to make room for others to enjoy the food and remainder of the game. Now it's time for me to place a pickup order! read more

It's in downtown Renton (where there currently is a lot of construction taking place. My better half ordered Egg and chorizo burrito with a side order of chili relleno. He thoroughly enjoyed the burrito and save part of it for a late night snack. I ordered a chili relleno plate that included; Mexican rice and some of the creaminess and delicious refried beans. Yummy. Will definitely order again despite their large variety of offerings. Pretty authentic Mexican food at very reasonable prices. Our bill came out to be roughly $23.00 I will definitely go back more when I am in the area. read more
