    Tacos Lengua
    Jade G.

I haven't been here in a while and I wanted to try their Tortas because I've only have their tacos and they are good but not my favorite place. I ordered a Torta de Choriqueso and two tacos de lengua and some flan. The torta: Really good, packed with caramelized onions, and tomato along with the chorizo and queso. wished there was more cheese on it cuz I wanted it to be cheesy. This was very good tho, the bread has an interesting sweetness. The tacos de lengua: GET THEM, OH MY FREAKIN GOD GET THEM. Lengua can be easily to mess up as the meat is so tender and rich, but this is seasoned to perfection, not too little to where the tongue tastes like you're eating cubes of butter but not over seasoned to where the meat gets lost. Absolutely perfect. Flan: AMAZING, I liked the texture, a firmer jello and the vanilla and caramel flavors where there, some flan can be watery and diluted but this was fantastic

La torta de milanesa mas fea que comprado... Los tacos de tripa igual y los tacos de carne asada pesimos....no recomiendo este lugar ..... la señora muy amable y el lugar muy limpio ..

This was my first time trying this restaurant. I like to try new places and was glad I did. I was treated with respect and I was explained the differences on the menu to help me make a decision. There's so many good items on the menu but I went with a carne asada torta. I liked that it had beans in it. I very much enjoyed it. I will be back to try a different option next time. The food came out quickly and fresh! The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean.

Service was amazing! Food was delicious, our first time they treated us well! Ambiance was 10/10

    Carne asada torta

First time trying tortas locals. Ordered a carne asada torta and this is what I got. More like fake steak ums you would use for a cheesesteak. No flavor or seasoning. Not even half an avocado. The tamales we got must have been sitting for a couple days. Half was still moist and flavorful but the other half was stale. Also got an order of tacos and the same type of meat not carne asada. No flavor. Very disappointing. High hopes but let down. Won't be back again.

    Chicken and pork tamales

Realllllly incredible tamales. The corn masa they use is not like any I've had before, so yummy. The pork tamale was softer (masa) but the chicken one was tougher (chewy/cover cooked). Still both were delicious and I enjoyed every single bite. Everything was seasoned perfectly. Also got an al pastor taco and it was okay, the meat was overdone. My partner got the ham torta and did not expect or anticipate how much meat was inside of it. She said it wasn't bad but way too much of everything. Service is friendly but took a little bit to get the food. Overall, good experience and would come back for the tamales.

a plate of tacos with lime wedges

Pretty good lunch! The Carne asada plate was plentiful. While the meat tasted good, it was fatty and stringy. The beans were cold when we got the plate. The tortillas were nice and thin. Enjoyed the tomatoes, lettuce, avocado and nopolas and the red smokey and green salsas. The meat in the tacos was better. The plate came with 5 tacos and lime and onion.

Friendly business owner. Great food and not so expensive. Will come back again. Feel like I'm in Mexico with the decor.

That being said, yesterday's visit was amazing - chicken tenders were incredibly fresh and perfectly made and cooked, and the older blonde woman was genuinely kind and helpful which made it a positive experience!! The jojos were also fresh and delicious, and the original chicken sandwich (next time we want to try the spicy though) was extremely good and came with a slice of american cheese. Their homemade ranch (.75¢ ea) that's kept inside the case on the counter with the other dressings and salads is one of the best ranch dressings we've ever had - it almost tastes just like Outback spicy ranch but without the kick. They also offer free hot sauce, ketchup and bbq packets. Definitely give this place a try if you're in the mood for some good, hot deli food!

Upping walking up to the gas station, I could smell the aroma of freshly fried food and I thought maybe I was in a for a nice treat. The food was sitted under heat lamps and most of it looked pretty fresh. The jojos are large and have a great crust on it. The seasoning is pretty solid too. The interior of the potato wedge was soft and nice contrast to the crust. The chicken tenders were fresh and actually moist. They were the most surprisingly the best thing I ate from here. The fried chicken left some to desire. The chicken wings were dry. Just dry and not good. The crust on the chicken thighs was good though. It was seasoned well and super crispy. The meat on the thigh wasn't as dry as the chicken wings but definitely not as moist or juicy as you would expect a thigh to be. The guy helping me was friendly although I had to repeat my order quite a few times. Overall, glad I tried it but in the world of gas station fried chicken - I wouldn't come out of my way to come back.

The last place I went to had clouds of fruit flies, the floor was sticky and the table looked like a science experiment (the Pho was good though, but ewww). But this isn't about Pho places in Covington. This is about Happy Autumn in Renton. I needed to be in Renton along 4th Ave and since I don't get to eat good Pho much anymore, I saw that Happy Autumn was along the route I'd be driving. My first impression. The food handling rating is EXCELLENT and the restaurant looked clean. The staff was delightful, professional, full of smiles, and had my order ready for pick-up right on time. I got the grilled chicken Pho to go, which is risky because 'to-go' meals can be skimped on since people don't tend to complain on meals to go from their house. I was NOT disappointed. They piled up all the goodies. Extra Sriracha, jalapenos, cilantro and basil. Lots of chicken and noodles and just a touch of sprouts (they are my least favorite Pho item). The broth was fragrant, flavorful and by the time I got home 45 minutes later, still hot. I put it all together and enjoyed some of the best Pho I've ever eaten locally. HIGHLY recommend.

Staff was nice, attentive and the tables and restaurant seemed very clean. We ordered pho, chicken summer rolls and a grilled chicken rice plate. The broth didn't have a lot of depth. It was fine but not enough to warrant a return. The grilled chicken was not exactly grilled. It tasted more like boiled chicken in a sauce and it was very sweet. I will keep looking for other pho restaurants to try. We have visited I Love Pho and Square Lotus in the Factoria area for probably 2 decades so need a change sometimes.

However, there are times, you just want a bahn mi, or something quick to grab - a very Vietnamese thing. Where can you go? Enter, Renton Deli! Renton Deli, located in the Renton Highlands neighborhood, IS NOT a western/American deli. It is very much a Vietnamese deli with an all Vietnamese menu. There is no Pho to be had here. However, there are some quintessential Vietnamese grab and go classics that are here. Noodles (i.e. Bun) with sausages, Hum bao, and of course lots of Vietnamese style desserts. However, if a bahn mi is what you are looking for, look no further. There is pulled chicken, grilled pork and tofu available. Please be advised, this is not a fast process. You will be waiting at least 10-12 minutes for your sandwich. Longer if there is a line. But that's okay. Plan accordingly, as these sandwiches are made to order, and hot. Don't forget to grab some soda's in the case behind you to finish the experience. Add Renton Deli to your routine of great grab and go cuisine in our fair city of Renton.
