This place is tucked away kn small shopping center between a chinese restaurant and a laundry mat. I've eaten at the Chinese restaurant countless times and finally decided to give this place a try. I went in on a weekday, during lunchtime, to a nearly empty place. I was, however, instantly greeted by a sweet man who took my togo order after I made my decision. While I waited, I filled up some containers of salsa from the salsa bar. I read some reviews stating the meat was very well seasoned and I'm not sure if I went on an off day because the meat was bland and my food was mediocre overall. With so many options around us, sadly I don't think I'll be back. read more

The description of the Chimichanga is a "crispy large flour tortilla," and the description was a lie. This is a wet burrito. I like web burritos, but this isn't what I was craving. It was pretty average, too. I also ordered the Quesabirria tacos, and they were alright. I've had better. Honestly, they're about what you'd expect from a place that doesn't specialize in quesabirrira. The chips are good. The salsa isn't bad. No complaints there. I probably won't come back. This is not the first Mexican spot in Fairfield that advertised a chimichanga but serves a wet burrito. I don't know WTF is up with Fairfield, but I'm leaving this review mostly as a reminder to not order here again if I want a chimichanga. For everything else, I'll probably try somewhere else before coming back here. read more

El Tejaban is a good spot and has a nice salsa bar . They serve a variety of food from tacos to soups . Outside the food the inside could use some updating . The service is usually good and the people are friendly. Only bad part is the area is a little sketch , it's next to a gas station , and the gas station has a lot of activity. read more

Honestly this place was really rude. They messed up my order THREE TIMES. Had the gall to BRING THE MANAGER IN BECAUSE I TOLD YHEM THEY MESSED UP. I made my order instructions SUPER CLEAR. Then basically gave me to the ingredients to COOK MY QUESADILLA MYSELF. Little food was given as well. Loud and hard to hear in location the ambiance was not good. read more

This spot was a quick yelp search while driving through town and wanting food. It came up as highly recommend and my buddy and I sent it. The parking lot is a little small and whacky , but once parked the restaurant is easy to see. It's in the corner of a little shopping center. Inside the place is pretty clean and didnt notice anything dirty jumping out. The bathroom was clean too. Food: was good. I got a carnitas burrito wet style and it was pretty fat. There is also a salsa bar that is available for customers and chips. Had to have a modelo to pair with the burrito. The food took a little long time to come out, but the chips and beer held us over. Service: 5/5. Good job over here guys! Younger kid came to the table and took our order very quickly. He came back to us and asked for a second round of beers and we took him up on the offer and then the food came right out too. read more

I ordered through door dash a breakfast burrito de chorizo but I think it was made of churria because that's what I ended up having for the next two days . Don't know if it was the salsa or something in the burrito but it ruined my weekend . We have to do better when it comes safety of the customers . No picture will be provided , thank me for that ! read more

If you live in Fairfield or Vacaville, or Suisun City, stay away from this Mexican place. We had to go back to their shop three times because they kept messing up our order. And they could Not care any less. They're dismissive and rude so if that's the kind of service that you want go right ahead, but is paying customers we deserve better than that. I only wish you would let me give zero stars!! read more

This is a very humble establishment but, I tell you the food is delicious. The plus was the service. Their menu is extensive, there is something for everyone. My husband loved his garlic shrimp. I stayed classic and had tacos (adobada, lengua, al pastor) Yum! read more

Tried this spot today and it wasn't bad. I ordered 2 tacos carne asada and 2 al pastor, the wife ordered a grilled chicken taco salad. My carne asada tacos were tasty and authentic but the pastor was pretty flavorless. The taco salad was tasty but barely had any chicken in it, and the chicken that was in it was definitely not grilled any time recently. My wife asked for jalapeños and the lady said they didn't have any. I'm assuming she meant they didn't have any pickled jalapeños because we saw grilled ones being served to some of the other people in there. If this restaurant was clean, I would've given a higher rating but it was pretty dam dirty in there. The lady was nice but we would probably not return. read more

A friend told me he had the best breakfast burrito here, so I thought I'd check it out. I ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo and am sorry to say it was far from the best I've ever had, the balance of chorizo to potatoes and cheese was too much chorizo (can't believe I'm saying that) to the other ingredients (didn't see any scrambled egg in it). The chorizo was flavorless and I was disappointed that the prices on their Yelp site was much less than I was charged. read more

We took a gamble and choose this spot for a quick lunch while my car was getting a car wash next door..... i'll start with the bad and end with the good. The bad part was they did not have any cold beer and I just really wanted one beer to eat with my nachos so instead I opted for water probably the better choice anyhow. Then there was no AC so it was really hot and since we had time to wait we decided to eat there. They forgot about our order so it took about 25 minutes to get our food and we ordered steak enchiladas steak tacos and a steak Super nachos. As we were waiting for our food the order that was forgotten about I wanted to get two more waters because we had already finished drinking our waters and as I waited at the cash register the two employees continue to talk about their work situation or what not which I thought was really rude so I just patiently waited in hopes that they would ask me how may I help you at least. So as they finished talking I asked can I purchase two waters and then the transaction proceeding. (Awkward). The good part. Chips and salsa were good the salsa was really good I think I had more of the spicy or hot red one not quite sure but it was good. My nachos came out in a togo box because once again they forgot about our order but overlooking that it was OK not a big deal the nachos were good flavor freshly made hot I couldn't complain I definitely didn't finish it but it was good. And the person I was dining with did not complain about their tacos or enchiladas the food was good I would definitely come back but I would just order to go specially with no AC very warm 90° weather day. If they would've had cold beer and AC I definitely would've gave it five stars. read more

Ok, let's get right to it. My best buddy and I are always trying restaurants and other places. I remember coming to this restaurant about 4 years ago and enjoying the burritos and enchiladas. This past Sunday we decided to come again and try the nachos and tacos this time. The first thing we noticed was that even though there were quite a few customers inside it was not very clean. I would not call it dirty but could have used some sprucing up. We don't speak Spanish but my pal understands enough to know that there was a lady complaining that there were too many gringos coming and going. I hope we weren't included in that assessment because yes I'm an American, but I'm definitely not a gringa. It was a busy time of day, but not worth complaining about. So we ordered our food and the server was very nice. I asked for the Super Nachos with steak and the Mexican soda jarritos in pineapple flavor. He got a tacos meal and jarritos with tamarind. It did not take long at all for the kitchen staff to prepare our food. I was surprised at the size of my nachos plate. It was huge! Even though I ate it by myself it was definitely enough for two or three people. I put some tapatio sauce on it and chowed down. Along with the soda it was very satisfying. My friend was pleased with his meal, saying the tacos were yummy. The beans were good. Overall the food was better than expected. And another plus, they were airing a futbal match (soccer) on the tv. It was an exciting game. I personally would like to come back again because the food was good, but I hope they choose to tidy up better from now on. I will update in a couple of weeks when I come back again. read more

Food is fresh and good as well as the price. Service is great , fast and efficient. Ambiance is ok .

t me start by saying this, I am from southern California. A place where meaty burritos and tasty tacos flow freely liks the wine in napa valley; a place where great taquerias ane not found disguised as overpriced restaurants but in strip malls that lay hidden in the corners of srip malls. Lets talk about portions, not just the amount of food on you plate (which this joint is rockin') but the yin and yang type portioning that makes your meal memorable. There should always be a balance when eating at a taqueria, especially when we talk about mission style burritos ( beans, rice and meat). There are few things worse than ordering a carne burrito overloaded with rice or beans with little carne. You might as well order a vegetarian burrito. No shady burritos or tacos here! Very well balanced! With that being said, this is a taqueria and a damn good one at that but dont expect some fancy restaurant. This place is about giving you good food that will not disappoint at good price. A solid 4 stars for me. I will be updating this review after a few more visits to ensure a 5th star is deserved. ;) read more

DIRTY RESTAURANT! THEY DO NOT CLEAN IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT CLEARLY! I came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon and ordered a super chicken burrito and their food was disgusting! The burrito was so small it looked like a small burrito not a super burrito! The chicken tasted old like it was 2+ days old nothing about it tasted fresh! Even the chips were stale! Like from 2 months ago! And the lady who was making my food was touching handling it with her bare hands, no gloves! I don't know where her hands were before she touched my food! I would not recommend this restaurant trust me take your money somewhere else where they serve FRESH FOOD so you don't get food poisoning! ALL THEIR SALSAS TASTED OLD TOO!! #DISAPPOINTMENT read more

Okay it's a taqueria, so don't expect anything fancy or ambiance, but the place is clean, but kind of small. Even with it being small I haven't had problems finding seating. the salsa bar is yummy and again CLEAN...that's my main deal here good food and clean establishment for taqueria prices... The FOOD is awesome! Love everything especially the tripas...fried goodness (for those that eat just regular meat, you don't want to know and stick to the carnitas/pastor). Everything is made fresh if you can go weekends have the menudo or the pasoles. My husband loves the torta...all the meats are good, so which ever you prefer. I love the ceviche/tostade with the octopus, shrimp, and fish (think it was the ceviche mixta or trio)...whichever its excellent and for the amount of seafood they give for $5 isn't bad! Anyway normally go to taco trucks in vallejo on springs, but this place is so much better... This is the best place for authentic mexican food, and clean, so I haven't had any problems which isn't something I can say on some taco trucks =P. read more

If I could give no rating I would.. I walked in and was immediately frowned at by one of the cooks... it took like 10 mins to be acknowledged, I said hello multiple times. We found this place by luck our usual neighborhood Mexican food place was closed. it was late and I didn't have time to make some Mexican food (I'm Mexican) I called this place after calling like 3 others and they answered very nicely. The service was great and we even got free chips and salsa (they have a little bar) will be going back for sure. read more

Pros: Affordable, very good food, fast service, friendly staff Cons: A little dirty and the place itself looks a little run down - not much of an ambiance - but who cares, just take it to go! Came here Friday, 6/6/15 for dinner. I ordered shredded chicken nachos with everything and shredded chicken tacos with the beans and rice. The cashier was friendly. The order didn't take long to be ready. There's a salsa bar but I didn't think the salsa was that good - room temperature salsa, meh. The nachos were really good. They use a different kind of cheese - it's not shredded cheddar like other places use. It was a white kind of cheese - I couldn't figure out what kind it was but man was it good. At initial glance I thought ugh they packed on the sour cream, guac and salsa but it wasn't bad. The chips weren't soggy or anything. I will definitely be coming back. read more

Ordered an asada burrito and a super burrito to go, both didn't have much flavor. The rice and meat tasted really bland and had no flavor

I was really hungry & I was next door doing laundry, so I thought I'd give this place a try. It's no table service, order at the counter, with a pretty big menu board up above. It's a little bit on the warm side inside, being that the kitchen is right there & the tables are pretty sparsely furnished. Salt & pepper, hot sauce & napkins on every table. The Tejano music they play inside would kind of give it a little Latin feeling, but they play it VERY LOUD. Too much so, I think. The walls are fairly well decorated, with earth-like mirrors & paintings depicting a Mexican villa scene. Nice. There are no public restrooms. I ordered a taco salad with pastor. It was very flavorful even though the shell was a little on the crispy side & tasted greasy. Still flavorful on the inside. I also had a chimichanga with carne asada. It was a BIG portion, more than I was expecting it to be. It, unfortunately was rather bland. I had to flavor it up with the Tapatio hot sauce sitting on the table. When I sliced into it a good portion of rice & beans came spilling out, making it a very messy meal to eat. The tortilla it was rolled in to me didn't taste fresh. Store bought, I thought, & it was a little burned on one side. I washed it all down with a cold Pacifico Clara. They also have Corona, Bud & Bud lite, all in bottles. Business was pretty brisk, with plenty of walk up customers. I might try this place again if I'm next door doing laundry, but I'd have to try something different from what I had today. Or maybe I'll just stick with a cold Pacifico. read more

If you're looking for good Mexican food, this is the place! I had the best first experience! I will for sure keep coming back. Everyone was so friendly as i walked in, they helped me with a smile, the restaurant is small but it feels like home. So comforting. Horrible service with attitude. Made a pick up order for a breakfast burrito added stuff to it. The burrito didn't have anything I added to it. Half way through the burrito I told them and showed them it's plain . They insisted they added the extras with Attitude even with proof that it wasn't . First and last time. read more
