I returned to enjoy a meal here again and this time opted for the Pastor Super Burrito. The service was incredibly fast, but the only hiccup was that my burrito was missing the sour cream cheese and guacamole. I paid for the super and received the regular, which meant I paid for more and got less. Aside from that, it was absolutely delicious. Just be sure to get what you're paying for. I've eaten at this establishment a handful of time over the last year. This place is the definition of a hole in the wall, in an unlikely plaza. Inside is quaint and clean. They offer a salasa bar that is really good with fresh chips 5/5. The staff are friendly and quick taking and delivering your order 5/5. I feel like the photos do not do the flavor justice. Their tortas are my favorite but this time I tried the Mexi-fries, and they were good, but they could've been better. The fries were either overcooked or undercooked, which put a dent in the meal, but the meat, the cheese, the sour cream and especially the guacamole. Hadn't been to this place in years as they used to make the best burritos near the base. I have to say I was unfortunately disappointed. The burritos used to be huge, stuffed with expertly seasoned meat. Today, I ordered their El Pastor Jumbo burrito. Maybe my taste has changed but, for me, the meat lacked flavor. The burrito was smaller than what I remember. It was so-so. They used to have fresh made tortilla chips at their salsa bar. Today, they were obviously store bought and overly salty. The salsa was still on point. They also used to give you the choice of refried or black beans in your burrito. Just refried offered now. All in all it was not horrible but, I don't think I'll be going back. With all the Mexican restaurants in this area, they have some stiff competition. read more

Stopped by while my kid was in boxing just for a snack, his coach recommended this place. Saw a soup I've never heard of and was intrigued. " Carne en su Jugo" was what it was called. And I'm glad I tried it because it was REALLY GOOD!!! Light yet hearty and tasted so Bomb. The man at the counter was really nice and came out to check if I liked the soup. Co workers said this taco place is good. So I had to see was up. It is almost invisible. If you don't pay attention then you will miss the door for the taqueria between the other shops. It's small for the most part but there is enough seating for lager groups up to like 8 or so if you combine tables!! Tacos were great and so was the chips and salsa. Good lunch spot. read more

Better than Air Force Base food? DEFINITELY Always better? Ummm kinda This is always to go so nothing is based on eating in experience. The people are usually nice and rarely a language issue at the counter. Food is always called in and rarely an issue there. They also double or triple bag for bungee cord to back of motorcycle so that is way cool and unexpected. Chicken super burrito is the go to. Has rice, beans, and all the usuals in there. Way too big to eat in one sitting or you eat it all and be down for the day I believe you also get free chips if you ask for them (or maybe you just go grab?) but I am not really into the chips and sauces in little plastic cups with little plastic lids that just open up in the bag leaving you with a STRONG hope that there is no little hole in the bag which leaks on your seat or wherever you place said bag only to be left with the knowledge that even without a hole your food is now swimming in it and there go the napkins (whew) read more

Honestly don't want to leave a bad review, but the breakfast burritos are made with deli ham and have a slight vinegar aftertaste. I have learned my lesson and will not get breakfast burritos at Mexican restaurants... it's not authentic. The burrito didn't even stay warm long enough to get to my house, less than a mile from base. I had to season the burrito once I got home. I believe that simple ingredients bring out the flavor of food, but in this case, the cheese was a glob, the meat tasted fermented, the beans were pale and the tortilla seemed as if it had been microwaved. I had higher hopes for this place, and want to give them another chance. Stay away from the Vacaville location if you are craving breakfast burritos, they are the same dismal quality. read more

I am truly split between three stars and 4 stars. This place is good but not great. I cant explain it... I keep going back to it because the food taste good ( I guess it taste like something made at home not a restaurant , but not something made in (Mexico or LA or San Jose)). When you take it to go sometimes the tortillas on the tacos go soggy. I have tried the sopes they were pretty good. The Flan taste pretty authentic and the chips were nice and crispy. I have to say the salsas were real good. The Jamaica was super concentrated and the horchata was just okay. Like I said they have things that they are strong at and some stuff they could work on. Customer service is another one where I am confuse. The lady is not super friendly but shes not mean. Its weird. She takes your order. Doesnt great you, but is semi friendly when talking to you. She sometimes tells you thank you for coming or see you next time. Yet these are rare occasions. Will I come back? Yes I keep coming back Should you go there? Like I said the food is decent but dont expect something you would have had in LA or San Jose or Oakland or one of those bomb authentic Mexican places. This is more of a get me by place. read more

The food here is pretty good everything on the menu is probably going to meet your expectations but not everything will exceed them I really enjoy the crispy tacos with pollo asado it's definitely one of those things I say everyone should try once. Rude. Desperately need to work on customer service and social skills. Also told them no guacamole & they smothered it in guacamole & then refused to remake it. Even after I told them it was due to an allergy. Didn't go back for months & months. A coworker bought us lunch from there again recently. I over heard her say no guacamole on mine & repeated it to them again. And again covers it in guacamole. Also when she picked it up yet again they were rude. Decided to try the carne asada California burrito today and a hibiscus drink for $17 and some change!!. Never again. Meat was poor quality, had gristle, tough and burrito was dripping with grease. Barely any sour cream and guacamole which are the only two ingredients beside the steak, cheese and French fries. Definitely not a good choice, I hope the other items on the lunch and dinner menu are better but I'm not confident so stick to breakfast only. This is a staple if you work on base and like Mexican food! The staff is always friendly and helpful, the food is amazing, and there's a wide selection available on their menu! Definitely a hole in the wall, mom and pop type place so you can expect that type of vibe here. The fountain drinks and chips and salsa are self serve so don't wait for a waiter or anything to refill for you. They get super busy at lunch, so it's nice that they have those items available for you to get at your leisure, especially since they don't have a large staff. The one thing that makes me sad is how the prices go up slightly every year. it isn't too bad, but would hate for like their taco lunch special to get to like $7 just for 3 tacos and a drink. Fairfield is way below average. Food lacked freshness; Mexican flavors were missing in the tacos I had. The people of Travis AFB are very fortunate to have this joint right out the front gate. It used to be called El Tejeban, but I imagine it's name changed either due to a management turn over OR the fact that we all started calling it "The Taliban". (Sorry about that...) That aside, THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. The giant quasadilla gives new meaning to QUESADILLA. The tacos are actually athentic, which is NICE! Oh, and there's a salsa bar and warmed chips. They also have two of my favorite "staples" in a Mexican place... flan and bottled Coke. I'm not sure, but I don't think they have pasole--but they have menudo. If you're not military or work at the base, I'd recommend avoiding the place between 1100-1300 Monday-Friday... we pack the house and you won't have time on an hour lunch break if you don't work near the base. I've also tried the location in Vacaville off E Monte Vista... but I prefer this location. I'm sure the food isn't terribly different, but to me it just was better at the one by base... read more

The people at Hecho en Mexico is what makes this place a one of a kind hole-in-the-wall establishment. My first time dining here was embarrassing. When I was about to pay, my credit card was declined and I had no cash with me. The cashier at the time just brushed it off and told me not to worry. "Just come back and pay for it another time." Wow. I was impressed, and it's not like I was already a regular or anything. So that alone made me to come back! For 8 years we've been coming here regularly, probably at least once a week on average, either with my husband or friends and co-workers. When we do to-go orders they always include plenty of fresh chips and cups of fresh salsa/pico de gallo from their kitchen. Someone was always there to help me bring orders to my car, even if I don't ask. Their carnitas tacos are my favorite. I always order their lunch special and that always make me do the happy dance afterwards. Their breakfast burritos are great too. My friend ordered carne asada fries, I got the plain nachos and cheese, and tailored my breakfast burrito w/ rice, egg, cheese, beans, mushroom, and jalapeños. Everything was ok. It wasn't bad nor did anything shout out amazing. Portions are big for small prices. Place is clean enough. They have a salsa/chip bar that's a nice free option. I've been here many times, and every time I leave disappointed. For some reason I think that they might have improved since my last visit. I've had the tacos, burritos, tortas, and lunch plates. I would say they just might be the worst in all of Solano county...for real. Their "super" burritos look like a typical microwave version, it's mushy, consisting mainly of beans.
