If it wasn't for a business I near by I wouldn't even have known about this place. Been coming here for a few months now. This place is worth a shot to come try. We usually come dine in & enjoy the freshness of the food. I've tried a few things but the only thing I didn't like was the California burrito. Sorry it's not for me. Fries inside a burrito is not my calling. I've fried the taquitos plate 8.5/10 Menudo 9/10 filling and rich flavor Huevos rancheros 9.5/10 good good. The tacos are good but they are little. Comes with the rabanos and chile:) the rice is definitely homemade as well as the beans(I think) this is definitely food my grandma would make and it's comforting because everyone that works there puts love into the food. I love that! The service is always great. I've came a few times where it's so full. It amazes me how many people come here regularly and the ladies know everyone. The food tAkes some time but honestly it's worth the wait. They do have agua frescas and other sodas drinks. Always looking forward to the next visit. Thank you ladies so much! Great food, fast and friendly service. Don't let the size of this restaurant cloud your judgement. A small restaurant tucked away in a shopping center that truly is a diamond in the rough. The torta was delicious, good size, fresh ingredients and great flavor. I highly recommend the chile rellano. They were amazing. Lots of cheese stuffed into a tender pepper that had a light and airy batter that melted in your mouth. And don't forget to add a couple carne asada tacos...you won't be disappointed. I ate here the first time and we oder menudo and fry fish. The food was very good, so I came back. Only this time the menudo was not cooked properly. Te meat was very hard to chew - undone, and the soup had no flavor. I was disappointed at the food this time. We left most of the meat in the plate and only ate the broth. First time tonight walking in is a little strange they have all the meats beans and rice in a hot cart ya think ok?....but when ya ask about what taste like what they let ya have a little sample to see if it's something ya wanna go with barbacoa is bomb!! My sisters menudo was all bone, and tasted like they used enchilada sauce as the caldo, there was more hominy than meat(bone). Upon entering this establishment I noticed right away the amazing aroma of the food that was cooking! It was lunch time on a Monday afternoon. We ordered enchiladas and a burrito. The food, including the chips and salsa were perfect! Delicious and I already want more! The only reason that I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the atmosphere. I've only been a resident of Tulare for about 7 years. I was born and raised in SoCal. In LA county there are plenty of Mexican restaurants to choose from. I'm not sure how long Rancho Grande has been opened in Tulare, but it is by far the best Mexican cuisine this town has to offer. And I've have eaten at all the others. I've tried many of the dishes and sides, ala carte as well. Every single one has been of a homemade "Grandma" type quality. Very delicious and beautifully presented. There are many places to eat Mexican food in Tulare, but why bother when Rancho Grande is simply the best. My favorite thing to order is: Chili verde enchilada and a shrimp taco. Rancho Grande is a small modest size place, but their staff make up for it in hospitality. Please give them a try, you won't regret it one bite. read more

First off let me say I have 15 yrs exp. In food service and hospitality with that said.....This place sux My girlfriend and I went in to get 8 $1.00 tacos and a side of rice and beans and two drinks ,to go. It took about 40 minutes to get my food there was a table full of nurses who were on their lunch break and only half of them got their food before they had to go back to work. the Cook has no idea what he's doing and seemed to be overwhelmed by maybe 15 customers . and as I was waiting for my food the nurses came up and wanted a refund because they still had not received their food. and when I finally got my order home and sat down to eat( I live two blocks from this restaurant) my beans and rice were cold the meat had no flavor and my tacos were cold, the cook needs to use fresh ingredints and have a tables orders ready at the same time so everyone can eat hot food. Also the rice and beans were probably old and reheated . This place probably will be shut down or go out of buisness soon if they dont get it together! (I Would hate to see how they maintain the back kitchen probably a health hazard) by the way I ate 2 bites of my food and threw the rest out! Save yourself the trouble and DO NOT EAT HERE!! We should have known to just walk out of this restaurant when everyone stopped talking as we walked in. The waiter then proceeded to give us two menus for three people. After leaving us for 3 minutes he was annoyed when he returned as we asked for more time. When we placed our orders I asked for chips and salsa. I was told they don't have any chips or salsa yet they have nachos with salsa on top on the menu. We received our drinks right away, unfortunately they were all flat. As I moved the drinks to the side I spilled some and there were no napkins anywhere. I asked the waiter for some and I had to get up and get them myself. They only reason they even got one star was it was the lowest rating I could give them. This is by far the worst restaurant I have ever been to.
