    Birria tacos being cooked.
    Aricka L.

Was recommended by a dear family friend to try their Sunday Pop up Stand at Los Berros Market. They start serving at 11 until the sell out at 1. Usually have two different meats. Options are $3 tacos or $3 quesadillas. Your choice of meat. There was only Birria left when we got there and a crowd. These tacos and quesadillas were legit the best I've had in a long time. We had swore to make it a weekly drive as a $6 meal can't be beat!

Quesa Birria tacos. Homemade salsa is sooo flavorful!

While exploring the nearby businesses of the hotel we were staying at, we decided to stop for an early dinner. The place looked quiet, and even though there were very few patrons, we had a short wait before being seated. (This was the first red flag) The restaurant is structured nicely with an open facing entryway to the street, allowing the sun and breeze to flow. The problem, is that it was difficult to admire the interior of the restaurant without ignoring the noticeable spiderwebs and cobwebs in the ceiling and rafters. If I can see them, then I know they can see them. They do however, have very nice indoor and outdoor patio seating, with several tv's throughout. We were served complimentary chips and salsa shortly after we were seated. The chips were light and crispy. The salsa? Awful. Very thin and runny, with absolutely no flavor. We had to have waited a good ten minutes or so before our drink order was taken. Upon taking our drink order, I also placed an order for chips & guacamole. Our waitress was friendly, but curt. After tasting the salsa I chose to play it safe and went with the chile verde enchiladas, and my wife went with the combo plate with a chicken taco and enchilada. By the time we placed our second drink order it was blatantly obvious that our waitress had completely forgotten about our order of chips and guacamole, which was confirmed when our meal arrived. I will say that the margaritas were outstanding, maybe one of the best I've had. To my surprise, the chile verde enchiladas were actually really good. Nice texture, good flavor. The rice was bland and flavorless, and I'm convinced that the black beans were straight from a can. Lacking both flavor and/or seasoning (They weren't even hot) and equally plain. My wife's meal wasn't any better. The chicken was super dry served on a sad and raw tortilla. The beans...disgusting slop. If I had any doubts about whether MY beans were canned, I had absolutely no doubt about hers. These beans were so undoubtedly canned I'm surprised they didn't still have the impression of the tin can on them. No seasoning, no flavor, and lukewarm at best. Enough is enough. I couldn't wait to pay my tab and make a swift exit.

A small place near beautiful pismo beach. Decided to first order a shrimp taco for myself, in my opinion it was overloaded with tomatoes, i should've asked to taken it off, but the shrimp was alright. Then i decided to get some chips and salsa as O wanted a good crunch, the salsa was yummy and flavorful, good choice. but nachos were so plain, the crunch was great but such a. lack of flavor I could not force myself to finish my $6 plain chips , even with all that salt i added cause of it's lack of flavor. I just saved it to make chilaquiles at home lol also the salsa bar was poorly maintained :( pretty sad lookin my boyfriend got the 3 plate tacos of birria and he rates it a 2.7/5, he was expecting to get the soup alongside it, because he's gotten it from other places, which i think is #valid but this taco of asada...was SO FRIKEN GOOD I HAD TO SIT IN SILENCE EATING IT AND JUST ENJOY ALL THE FLAVORS, I WILL BE BACK FOR THIS TACO DE ASADA overall $30

The actual restaurant is very cute and has large windows and outdoor seating which looked enjoyable.

The guy was nice to two white YOUNG girls and smiled and laughed! And when they left he stared at them as they walked out the door. Wow! He's a little old for them . Plus he told us he has a younger daughter! Hopefully not a wife since he obviously was flirting with 2 young girls! What a crazy weirdo! Plus, they were sitting there for their to go order or something cuz they finally said something and spoke up about their order. Inexpensive now we know why.... The tacos were not tasty. Enchiladas were ok. And my 14.00 Michelada was warm. I ordered water so I took the ice out to make it better. I almost didn't finish it. Not good at all! The people behind us said their beers were warm too! There were only 2 other tables.... With 2 workers with terrible service.... My ex in-laws use to own a restaurant, so I know what busy is.... Bringing salads, bread, appetizers, water and opening wine bottles... this small Mexican restaurant is just taking an order and dropping the food and minimal work... they couldn't handle that's!? Will def not go back when we ever come back to Arroyo.
