    Asada burrito
    Alex S.

My review is for the taco truck they have outside some evenings. I haven't been inside the building. I ordered an asada burrito , chorizo, carnitas and Barbacoa tacos. It was after 11 on a Friday . Service was friendly and cashier spoke perfect English. I started with the burrito. It was medium sized; steak was flavorful and tender, came with some rice, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese, with their orange sauce, radishes and limes in the side. The tacos came with their green sauce on side and more radishes and limes, plus a big cooked jalapeño. They were heavy on the cilantro and all three were outstanding. Carnitas was excellent, Barbacoa was delicious , and I LOVED the chorizo. Their chorizo is the spicy sort and the best I've had in the area among the other taquerias I've tried. Liked that they included the cooked jalapeño as well. Can't really comment in the service, but this is some pretty good Mexican street food.

The complimentary chips & salsa are a great appetizer. The fajitas & tacos are always amazing. Great service on a busy night. The environment is always entertaining with music. The prices are very inexpensive.

best tacos al pastor in town.. try their vending truck outside in the parking lot, tacos are better than inside..

Where do I start?!!! Rice instead of rice and Parmesan cheese.... enough said...

Affordable & very authentic! The carne asada & barabcoa tacos were (in my opinion) way tastier than Tacos Al Carbon!.

Inside it's very decorated with flowers, signs, hats, and colorful designs. Lively Mexican music was playing. They have a lunch specials menu. I took advantange of that and ordered their shrimp fajitas. First came a large plate with yellow rice, refried beans, and pico de gallo. I left off the lettuce. A separate colorful basket with a lid was delivered next with hot tortillas wrapped in foil -- that kept hot the entire time. And a sizzling skillet came with grilled onions and peppers and shrimp. The meal was delicious. I even took some home including all the tortillas. My husband was in the mood for breakfast -- which they do all day. He got their huevos ranchero. The two lightly fried sunny side up eggs on top of a tortilla were covered with sauce and cheese. The plate also had refried beans, rice, and salad. He said it was very good. Just what he was in the mood for... We'd definitely return here. Service was also very good. And there are a lot more things I'd like to try on their menu.

We ordered a few cocktails, the El Segundo Classico, a classic margarita, and the Oaxaca Peach Old Fashioned made of blanco tequila and a bit of mezcal, very refreshing to start off with. Our servers recommended a few different menu items. The Pimento Cheese Elote Dip small plate was delicious. We then moved on to the tacos - the Brisket Burnt Ends, the Chicharron Ceviche, and the Cali Fish (my favorite). The Cali Fish was nicely fried and just a bit of heat and slightly sweet slaw. Also tried the Birria Tacos and the Burrito, both great. We loved sitting outside in front of the restaurant. There are few artist studios across the parking lot. I thought El Segundo was a solid 4.5/5.

El Segundo has ample indoor and outdoor seating. Though slammed, I sat at the bar and met Connor. His beer "is so cold, your teeth will hurt." That statement is a sign on Isla Majure. The menu is awesome. Prices are great. It was tough to finish my blackened chicken burrito! Deliciosa!!! But what makes this place vibe is the young staff. They rock! And they got each other's 6. I witnessed this as Sam was pouring one of their famous margaritas. As she was close to empty with her container, Connor does a stealthy maneuver and slips in another container for her. Sam did not miss a beat because of Connor. Everyone and I mean everyone connects. It is worth your time. Enjoy the local art too.
