[[HIGHLIGHT]]this place looks flashy from the outside, and it was packed when we came inside[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], the lady at the cash register was so lovely, we got our food fast and it was so fresh and flavorful, i got the veggie burrito and it was huge, my mom and brother got tacos and my cousin and aunt got the molcajete, everyone loved their plate, we all got full, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place was clean and they very attentive[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], service was amazing, food was amazing, prices were also amazing! when they say the best mexican food they don't come to play

Stopped by Taqueria Jalos by accident. I stopped to grab some gas and figured I'd stop and get a quick bite as the Taquaria was right next to it. Man am I glad I did. I ordered the bacon breakfast burrito and it was one of the best burritos I've had. Very flavorful and it was not a small burrito either. Service was super quick and staff are very friendly. I got my burrito in a matter of minutes. If you are looking to get authentic Mexican food this has to be your go to spot. 10/10 recommend

This spot was soooo delicious and affordable. We stopped here on our way to San Jose and it didn't disappoint. I had the special "quesa-birria for $5. My husband had the 2 taco special and our daughter had a bean and cheese burrito. We also had a large horchata. The entire bill was about $18. It's next door to the Arco, but it has its own outdoor patio.

Wet burrito. I asked for a knife, only had a fork.

Staying in Mendocino. Decided to do a road trip, coast, then around through the redwoods...so a big circle. Drove by and swung back around to come here. Omg, food and prices... so good. I had the Quesabirria taco, tostada ceviche, and 2 street taco plate with rice&beans, negra modelo, and pineapple drink they make. Ugh wish they were near where I live. Everyone was super nice. In the same parking lot as a gas station so don't let that fool you. Such a nice experience. read more

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants today I came and got four shredded chicken tacos. The tacos had no onion no tomato. The only thing they had on them was lettuce, sour cream, a green sauce that resembles a Taco Bell sauce and the chicken. It was so wet. It wasn't even edible. I'm so sad because I've been eating here since I was 16. read more

Stopped by Taqueria Jalos by accident. I stopped to grab some gas and figured I'd stop and get a quick bite as the Taquaria was right next to it. Man am I glad I did. I ordered the bacon breakfast burrito and it was one of the best burritos I've had. Very flavorful and it was not a small burrito either. Service was super quick and staff are very friendly. This spot is next to Arco Gas Station. After coming back last night into Willits, I decided to give it a try, since I see people always going in and out. I decided to get a grilled chicken and Al Pastor Wet Burrito. It was for to-go. I can tell by the service, they wanted to get out of there. I asked for fork and knife, they said it was all in the bag. When I got back to the Motel (this small town only has Motels), only had the fork. It was hard trying to cut through the burrito. Polo asado, didn't have flavor, and matter of fact, I chewed into a few gristles. Al pastor, also didn't have much flavor. Over all, I would have enjoyed it had the meat been seasoned well! I guess it was a good thing to make it a wet burrito. read more

A Mexican taco joint sharing space with an ARCO? Sounds suspicious but it's one of my favorite places to get a good Mexican meal. It certainly isn't a first date spot, it's more of "I just drove from Fort Bragg on 20 and I'm starving" sort of place. Y'all..... come get this quesa birria!!!! It is, hands down, the best in town. They don't skimp out on any meat and cheese and crisp them to perfection. Also, the $7 two tacos with rice and beans deal is unmatched. The plate of food is massive. I love this place! Just a heads up though, the glass bottle cokes are $5.25 which shocked me but whatever , I'm still getting one. read more

This place is so delicious. I don't even live near it, but stop every single time I am near. You can't beat the taco plate, the ceviche is perfect, as is the birria. Best beans and rice. The only thing that I am never crazy about is the chips they serve with the salsa. Not my favorite, but everything else is so good I can overlook that one detail. read more

We have been eating her for 5 years. Food is authentic Mexican. Most Mexican places in Mendocino are not very authentic, true Mexican. Jalos also has best prices. So, it's a win-win!! The only place here I easy Mexican since we moved from Southern California. read more

The sister restaurant to Taqueria Maria's, this place is right next to the AMPM mini mart. Oh. But it is so much more. Very nice service. great tacos. But my favorite -- is the simple huevos rancheros. They do not overcook the eggs, they leave them juicy and delicious. The sauce is delicious. Lots of rice and beans. And....they give you a good chunk of Mexican cheese and half a grilled jalepeno with your breakfast, which is, with giant basket of fresh tortillas, sublime. Best breakfast in Willits. It is also one of the few places you can get Mexi breakfast in Willits early during the week. Love it. Such nice people, too! read more

So twice in a row now food has been under par, last week the chile relleno sauce tasted like plain tomato sauce today the Chile verde came out with fried carnitas meat not Chile verde chunks. The taste is over whelming grease. After mentioning the carnitas instead of the chunks that should be in there we were ignored. Pretty sure this if the last time I'll be coming here after it being my favorite place for years. Not sure what happened but the good odd falling off. read more

My husband and I get the Molcajete bowl all the time and share it is a lot of food amazing. There's three ways you can get it garlic medium or spicy but tonight we had the tacos special we had grilled chicken and pork and they were both amazing. highly recommend this place. read more

Delicious authentic Mexican food! I ordered a burrito (it was HUGE) my bf had the shrimp fajitas. Both dishes were fast and big portions. The customer service was very friendly. Handling with COVID-19 The restaurant was clean and they made sure people kept their distance. There was an employee cleaning everything the entire time we were there. read more

Hard to find a place open on a Monday night that serves soup. But they have it here--beef soup, shrimp soup, and fish soup. The fish soup was a bit too spicy for my taste (if, I knew before, I would have ordered mild). The beef soup was good. We're from the Bay Area and don't get to Ukiah very often, but when we do, we hope to try some other things on their menu. read more

The lady that helped us was really nice as we ordered our order to-go. I went with 2 crispy pastor tacos, lingua street taco, and an elote. Upon getting our order, I asked for extra hot sauce stating I would like the hottest one they had. I LOVE hot and spicy food and sauces. She tells me they have a very spicy chili oil but it's extra. You better believe I paid for the super spicy chili oil. The oil was amazing. The chilis were blended down into a thick paste in the oil. She told me to be careful since it can irritate your skin. I started with one of their tortilla chips and dip a little corner in to try it. The flavor had a smokiness to it. It is similar to thai chili oil. It was spicy but it was manageable. I proceeded to cover my crispy tacos in globs of it. Well, the heat builds hahaha my lips were puffy from eating so much and my mouth was on fire a little but I didn't feel like I was dying. Some water helped clear it up. If you like spicy, this oil is definitely something to try. Be careful if you don't normally eat very spicy. The crispy pastor tacos were pretty good. The pastor was seasoned a little different than what I have ever had when ordering pastor but still good flavor it was just a little on the salty side. I probably will change meat type next time. The tacos came with lettuce, cheese, cilantro, and a little pico. I asked for no sour cream. The tortillas have great flavor and were super crispy. There was a lot of extra lettuce, which I appreciate. My tripa street taco came with radish and a grilled jalapeños tucked inside the tinfoil which was a nice surprise since I thought it was just the taco. The tripa was fried nicely and was crispy. The flavor was simple but good. This taco wasn't salt which I liked. I covered this in chili oil as well lol. I also got an elote that I didn't take a picture of. I think by the time I ate it the heat had caused it to sweat a little so the toppings were dripping off a little. The flavor was good. Not too much not too little tajin so it was good for me. The elote was ok. I probably shouldn't have eaten in hot. Don't know if I would order it again. I love this place. It was a pleasant surprise for sure. I will absolutely be stopping here again on long trips out of town. My boyfriend loved his food. Still fluffy, still flavorful, still exactly what I remembered. My son ordered enchiladas with their green sauce and that sauce deserves its own paragraph. Tangy, bright, and full of flavor without being overwhelming. Definitely something I would order myself next time. I went with the El Mexicano burrito and the poblano peppers inside absolutely made it. Deep flavor, and just full of cheese, and one of those meals where you slow down a second just to appreciate it. I also tried the birria and the flavor alone already has me planning what I'm ordering next visit. Service was excellent. Attentive without hovering and genuinely helpful. One thing I really appreciated is how flexible they are. They'll adjust dishes for taste or dietary needs and pretty much anything can be made vegetarian, which makes it easy when you're dining with different preferences. There's also plenty of seating, which makes it great whether you're coming in solo, with family, or with a group. For me this wasn't just a meal, it was a reminder of a place I used to enjoy back on the coast, and it was nice to find that same quality and consistency still alive here. I'll definitely be back.

The restaurant has a semi-open kitchen and it's always fun to see your food being made. Agua frescas were ordered, I had the horchata and it was refreshing. The menu has all of your favorites and then some. The table gobbled up all of the chips mostly because of the epic salsa bar. The salsa verde was a hit! Food came out fast, fresh, and portions were hefty. We left happy and recharged for our road trip. We'll be back again.

The lady that helped us was really nice as we ordered our order to-go. I went with 2 crispy pastor tacos, lingua street taco, and an elote. Upon getting our order, I asked for extra hot sauce stating I would like the hottest one they had. I LOVE hot and spicy food and sauces. She tells me they have a very spicy chili oil but it's extra. You better believe I paid for the super spicy chili oil. The oil was amazing. The chilis were blended down into a thick paste in the oil. She told me to be careful since it can irritate your skin. I started with one of their tortilla chips and dip a little corner in to try it. The flavor had a smokiness to it. It is similar to thai chili oil. It was spicy but it was manageable. I proceeded to cover my crispy tacos in globs of it. Well, the heat builds hahaha my lips were puffy from eating so much and my mouth was on fire a little but I didn't feel like I was dying. Some water helped clear it up. If you like spicy, this oil is definitely something to try. Be careful if you don't normally eat very spicy. The crispy pastor tacos were pretty good. The pastor was seasoned a little different than what I have ever had when ordering pastor but still good flavor it was just a little on the salty side. I probably will change meat type next time. The tacos came with lettuce, cheese, cilantro, and a little pico. I asked for no sour cream. The tortillas have great flavor and were super crispy. There was a lot of extra lettuce, which I appreciate. My tripa street taco came with radish and a grilled jalapeños tucked inside the tinfoil which was a nice surprise since I thought it was just the taco. The tripa was fried nicely and was crispy. The flavor was simple but good. This taco wasn't salt which I liked. I covered this in chili oil as well lol. I also got an elote that I didn't take a picture of. I think by the time I ate it the heat had caused it to sweat a little so the toppings were dripping off a little. The flavor was good. Not too much not too little tajin so it was good for me. The elote was ok. I probably shouldn't have eaten in hot. Don't know if I would order it again. I love this place. It was a pleasant surprise for sure. I will absolutely be stopping here again on long trips out of town. My boyfriend loved his food. That's my experience of Northspur. I've never stopped here with friends, but I've thought of my friends while I've visited. As in, this is a place my friends would really like. And, this: it feels like folks from around these parts that have friends come here with friends, and while they're here from all appearances they have a really good time. They could be faking but I don't think they are. The Willits bypass as observed by others and maybe other places by me was an unnecessary boondoggle that not only separated normal CA taxpayers from their money so as to avoid maybe five minutes extra travel time as they whisked north to ... to where would anyone need to be whisked in the north. I-5 is for whisking. 101 is for a different kind of trip. Not only that, the bypass also then has folks that don't know what's in Willits pass right on by. Their loss, though also a stake in the heart of the vitality of local business. Thanks, legislature, Caltrans and people that make money building things we don't need. This then for the people that would otherwise whisk by without stopping and are maybe hungry and turn to Yelp as the leave Ukiah to see what's ahead. Northspur is ahead, my friends. And if it's late in the day, get a room in town so you can sample every drop Northspur has to offer. The vittles aren't complicated, the menu isn't exhausting - but everything on it is good. The brewed offerings are delicious. Staff is straight out of Lake Woebegone (all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average). Friends with friends are having a rollicking good time and the vibe vibes with this happiness. I will stop every time. Try it once and I guarantee you will as well.

This place is a certain gem. Great food. My litmus test for a great Mexican restaurant boils down to the quality of the following: Chips, salsa and margaritas. I know that if those three things are high quality then everything else will be great. Now, they do not serve margaritas, but they DO serve *excellent* micheladas - go on, order one! The chips are fresh and the salsa is excellent. Everything else on the menu that I have ordered (and it has been a lot) has been muy bueno.
