This used to be one of my favorite restaurants today I came and got four shredded chicken tacos. The tacos had no onion no tomato. The only thing they had on them was lettuce, sour cream, a green sauce that resembles a Taco Bell sauce and the chicken. It was so wet. It wasn't even edible. Stopped by Taqueria Jalos by accident. I stopped to grab some gas and figured I'd stop and get a quick bite as the Taquaria was right next to it. Man am I glad I did. I ordered the bacon breakfast burrito and it was one of the best burritos I've had. Very flavorful and it was not a small burrito either. Service was super quick and staff are very friendly. This spot is next to Arco Gas Station. After coming back last night into Willits, I decided to give it a try, since I see people always going in and out. I decided to get a grilled chicken and Al Pastor Wet Burrito. It was for to-go. I can tell by the service, they wanted to get out of there. I asked for fork and knife, they said it was all in the bag. When I got back to the Motel (this small town only has Motels), only had the fork. It was hard trying to cut through the burrito. Polo asado, didn't have flavor, and matter of fact, I chewed into a few gristles. Al pastor, also didn't have much flavor. Over all, I would have enjoyed it had the meat been seasoned well! A Mexican taco joint sharing space with an ARCO? Sounds suspicious but it's one of my favorite places to get a good Mexican meal. It certainly isn't a first date spot, it's more of "I just drove from Fort Bragg on 20 and I'm starving" sort of place. The locals come here and being that it shares space with the quickly mart, it seems always busy. The food is good. It's plentiful and quite tasty. I had the two chicken enchiladas plate. Y'all..... come get this quesa birria!!!! It is, hands down, the best in town. They don't skimp out on any meat and cheese and crisp them to perfection. The sister restaurant to Taqueria Maria's, this place is right next to the AMPM mini mart. Oh. But it is so much more. Very nice service. great tacos. But my favorite -- is the simple huevos rancheros. They do not overcook the eggs, they leave them juicy and delicious. The sauce is delicious. Lots of rice and beans. And....they give you a good chunk of Mexican cheese and half a grilled jalepeno with your breakfast, which is, with giant basket of fresh tortillas, sublime. Best breakfast in Willits. So twice in a row now food has been under par, last week the chile relleno sauce tasted like plain tomato sauce today the Chile verde came out with fried carnitas meat not Chile verde chunks. The taste is over whelming grease. After mentioning the carnitas instead of the chunks that should be in there we were ignored. Hard to find a place open on a Monday night that serves soup. But they have it here--beef soup, shrimp soup, and fish soup. The fish soup was a bit too spicy for my taste (if, I knew before, I would have ordered mild). The beef soup was good.
