This place is fantastic a hidden gem for sure if you're in willits looking for good food , you can't go wrong with Rios !

So I first reviewed Rio's about 7 years ago and it has changed quite a bit. All my favorites are gone, unfortunately. I used to come in for the fried cod, the fried oysters, clam strips, clam chowder and my husband loved the seafood pasta. OK, so they don't have ANY OF THAT ANYMORE. (Sad face). They only fry red snapper. Meh. They still do fish tacos, thank goodness, but again, just red snapper. No more oysters. I am so very sad. And really, cod is made for frying. Let me pretend to be in a little town in the U.K.? No more. They still do their good fish tacos, though. Those are winners, for sure. They did add breakfast and that seems to be popular. I tried their breakfast quesadilla today and I have to say that it was pretty spectacular. The tortillas was huge and very fresh. Hash browns on point. scrambled eggs, diced ham, and lots of Monterey Jack cheese inside. It was melty and super scrumptious and huge. My hubby got the eggs and hamburger patty and he basically licked his plate. The coffee was really good, too. But I want my fish and chips place back. I really do. read more

Amazing food. Friendly family business with great service. It is worth it to exit the 101 for this great food. We had fish and chips...fresh, flakey fish, prawns and chip... delicious light crunchy breading, and a very tasty fish taco. The cole slaw and fries were very good too. This is one of those reviews that is difficult to write. The service was friendly, the food (Fish and Chiops) was good. The problem that I had with the restaurant was cleanliness. The floors were filthy, there was dirt around door handles on the doors in and out of the bathrooms. I was a bit grossed out. read more

The guy serving us was super friendly, he even threw in an extra piece of fish for us! Out of all the fish and chips combinations, I would recommend onion rings as the side and red snapper as the fish. There is no doubt at all that red snapper is much better then the cod here. read more

We found this place by accident and we are glad we took a chance. It's a really small place next to other businesses in a small strip area. The guy at the register was very nice and acknowledged us as soon as we walked in and asked what we wanted to drink. They have a few other options but we stayed with the seafood options and OMG everything was so good! I had the platter with onion rings, fish, and prawns. They were perfectly cooked and the seasoning was on point. My husband ordered fries, calamari, fish, and oysters all fried. It also comes with coleslaw and you are able to swap out the fries for their other options. This is definitely a family business that is proud to serve their food. We left supper full and satisfied. We will definitely be back to try something else on the menu. read more

This review is long overdue! On a road trip, late at night, most places were closed or behind us. Found Rio's on the map and navigated to it through the pouring rain. We were SO impressed by the quality of the fish and chips. They were incredibly hot and fresh, large portions, we couldn't stop talking about how great it was. Employees were nice too! Today I had eggs Benedict with a perfect hollandaise sauce Wow yummy the vegetarian and regular are amazing. If you want you can substitute the potatoes for fresh fruit. Great food, but I ordered fish and chips via DoorDash , a bit confusing I thought chips came with fish and chips, they asked me to choose a side as it usually comes in most restaurants, so I choose potato salad not realizing it was either or. Best fish and chips I've ever had, even better than the fish and chips you get in half moon bay. The staff is super friendly and had good recommendations. I got the red snapper fried fish with sweet potato fries. The texture was so good, crispy and flaky, and it was seasoned well. The tarter sauce and slaw it came with was good too. I was very disappointed in this restaurant. I even read the reviews before we went, but the food was very bland no flavor. We had three piece meal fish with french fries and coleslaw. My cat is usually in my face, begging, if she smells any sort of fish. She's sitting right next to me and doesn't even notice I have fish. Awesome fish and fries. I'm usually really picky about tarter sauce, i LOVE this! I assume the man who helped me was Rio. I called in for pick up. He was super friendly when he took my order...he didn't need my name. I was so excited to try Rio's after reading all of the reviews. I was more than a little disappointed. Now, keep in mind that we got takeout but we live about 8 minutes away. Trust that I busted into those boxes the second they came through the door because it smelled good!! That being said, the fish was not crunchy at all and the portions were not at all what I expected. We got a 1 piece and a 2 piece and all told, it was probably 6 ounces of fish. The fish in the 2 piece was so small that I thought there was no fish in the box at first The onion rings tasted good but were more soggy than they should have been after 8 minutes. Listen.. this place was so surprising.The food was amazing. The service was quick and friendly, but after we got our food they didn't really check on us. We had to ask for more soda, and we were the only table.. but I digress. My mom and I came here.. had some fish and chips with sweet potato fries. And coconut shrimp with onion rings. And food wise they honestly knocked it out of the park. The best fish I've probably ever had. The server was very kind, but I just wish he checked up with us more as we were the only ones in there. Came in on a Monday during lunch hour and the place was empty. So of course we were seated quickly. Drinks brought promptly and our order taken as soon as we knew what we wanted. I ordered the 3 piece fish and chips and my wife had prawns and oysters. To be transparent, I am NOT in search of perfect fish and chips. However what I had here was tasty. The fish was not greasy at all. The fries have a coating on them and I'd prefer regular hand cut. The coleslaw is not great, so just average. The tartar sauce is thin but has good flavor. My wife enjoyed her meal and said it was 4 stars. I'll give this a weak 4 stars. The price was $12 per meal but I was wanting more fries as the less than 20 that was served left me longing for more. read more
