We've had their tacos, enchiladas, veggies wrap, and even dabbled in their chicken tenders + fries. We've ordered their kids quesadillas, but their chicken chunks we a bit too big for our toddler to eat through :( All in all, a great place to work through some Mexican cravings outside of taco (which were awesome). The only thing that I would say is that they do not have Chile Rellenos ;)

It's become a local favorite, and after eating there, it's easy to see why. First off, the service is great--super friendly and fast, even when it gets busy. You never feel like you're waiting around, and the staff makes you feel welcome from the second you walk in. The portion sizes are generous, and you get a lot of high-quality food for what you pay. Whether you're ordering a burrito, tacos, or something off their full entrée menu, you'll leave full and satisfied. The burritos especially are solid--hearty, flavorful, and well put together, and the rest of the menu holds up just as well. Everything is seasoned perfectly and cooked with care. The interior decor is really fun and vibrant, with a lot of attention to detail. It's one of those places that's actually worth sitting down to eat in just to enjoy the atmosphere. It's colorful, cozy, and adds to the whole experience. That said, it's a little pricey for Mexican food, especially compared to quick-service spots--but the quality and setting justify it. You're definitely paying for a sit-down experience with authentic flavors and not just a quick bite. Overall, El Mariachi Loco is one of the best spots around for Mexican food--a great local place with bold flavors, friendly service, and an atmosphere that makes it worth a visit again and again.

It's took me a long time to finally check this place out. I knew about it, and I even knew where…read moreit was supposed to be located, but I'd driven by it a thousand times without going in...largely due to the very small sign located over the location. I didn't actually realize it was where I wanted to go until I was parking in front of it. As mentioned in other reviews, the dining space inside is small and very basic--which is fine. The portion of the store selling Mexican food staples is in the front as you enter, and the handful of dine-in tables are located at the back of the store between the store's aisles and the kitchen counter. What finally got me there to visit was that it was open for breakfast, and while a lot of places say they're open for breakfast, opening up at 9AM twice a week doesn't qualify. El Sabor Oaxaqueño 2 is open for breakfast most days at 6AM, because they serve people who are working their butts off and who need a good meal. The breakfasts at El Oaxaqueño 2 serve that need. My Chilaquiles Verde were spicy, but not super spicy, and it was served with rice and black beans. My carne asada was an addition as were my fried eggs. You can also get chicken breast (pechuga) or a red sauce if that's more your style. My wife's Huevos con Chorizo were very flavorful and very filling. They were also served with rice and black beans, along freshly made tortillas and a stick of cheese to crumble over your meal. She was only able to finish off half her plate, and we took home the rest. Our next visit was for dinner, and because I couldn't decide on what I wanted, we split three plates between us. First up was my Tacos de Tripa. I asked for the tripa (pork chitterlings, not tripe) to be well cooked so that it was crunchy, and they served them up just as I like them. They were topped with chopped onion and garlic, and once topped with the spicy green fresh salsa, we gobbled them down. The tortillas were freshly made and had a nice texture. The next dish was the chicken enchiladas en mole. Four enchiladas were well stuffed with white chicken meat then bathed in flavorful mole and served with rice and beans. Thankfully, it wasn't topped with a ridiculously huge glob of melted cheese. Last was the Quesadilla--not your Mama's quesadilla either. It was huge, and it wasn't as cheesy as the quesadillas the average person knows. Inside it was stuffed almost like a taco with big pieces of shrimp in one half and carne asada in the other. There was cheese, but cheese was not the star as it is in the average quesadilla we're all used to. It was good, and we both enjoyed it--it was just a surprise. The place is far from fancy, but they serve real food, and it's real good.

Before we entered the restaurant we were "distracted" by the vibrant ice cream store in the same strip. We walked in and were overwhelmed with all the ice cream options. Speaking to the owner, he said his family owns the EL Primo Plaza. We were on a mission for food, but will definitely visit the ice cream store in the future (our plan was after dinner, but dinner was so delicious and so filling, there was no room for dessert this time...better planning next time!). The restaurant is in a Mexican convenience store, but this is not your typical Mexican convenience store. They had so many options for everything. And they have this great bakery in the back before the restaurant. Everything looked SO good! In the back is a full sit down restaurant. We were seated and it is nicely decorated and has a view into the kitchen to watch them make the food. Our server promptly greeted us with some chips and what I think was a mole sauce. They were very tasty. We decided on a watermelon drink and shared mixed fajitas. The watermelon drink was fresh watermelon and it was very refreshing. The mixed fajitas came out piping hot, full of steak chicken and good sized shrimp. Sometimes at other places you get the baby cocktail shrimp, but these were a good size and nicely grilled and seasoned. You get a nice amount of sides to make your fajitas. There was so much food that we asked for extra shells at no additional cost! We thought we put a dent in the food, but we had so much still to take home. Everything was so fresh and seasoned well. The meat was nice and tender. There was a good amount of peppers and onions but it wasn't overpowered as sometimes also we have gotten fajitas elsewhere when there is mostly veggies and very little meat. We were absolutely stuffed by the time we left. Very good. We have added it to the list of places to return.
