Looking and found a wonderful little spot with street style tacos with lengua and cachete. The meat was moist and generous, filing the double soft shell. Chips didn't seem fresh, but salsa was good. Extremely welcoming and courteous staff and waitress' made for a very nice visit right from the moment we walked into the door of this small and unassuming "Taqueria". This place definitely has some delicious items - my Husband's chimichanga was stuffed and fried to perfection and my chicken nachos were piled high with toppings. The complimentary chips and salsa were great, however their hot sauce (in the squeeze bottle) is absolutely spicy and divine! The food is fantastic and tastes fresh, and the service is great. The owner is happy to be flexible with vegan and vegetarians. I ordered sauteed vegetables with beans and rice, and it was impressive enough for me to crave the same meal from this place often. I also recommend the guacamole! We visited the place for the first time. We didn't really know what to expect. We found a large menu with many good looking dishes. I tried the shrimp a la diablo. It was very good, but packs some heat. The spice level was about right for me. My wife had a shrimp quesIlla. She said hers was good. The guacamole was made to order and mixed with pick. I noticed this wonderful, small restaurant at 108th & Q while searching for a new Mexican eatery. We sat right down and looked at the menu. Not the usual drenched in cheese and lettuce offerings, and most items served on homemade corn tortillas. We settled on some ala carte tacos, chorizo, aside, and carnitas for me, and fish tacos for my wife. I noticed that as we waited for our food, at least three people came in to pick up to go orders, and all the booths were occupied, so business is good. The tacos are small in diameter, but very generously filled. At first I thought that maybe I should have ordered four (they are $1.50 each) but three was just right-I didn't leave stuffed, but I didn't leave hungry, and my wife's meal of 2 fish tacos was equally satisfying. The Chorizo was fabulous, not at all greasy, just very tasty, and the aside was my favorite. The hot sauce seems habanero based, which is fine by us, but may be a bit spicy for some. The cilantro and onion perfectly compliment the flavor-no cheese needed. The chips and sauce (complimentary) are fine, but a bit mild for my taste. I didn't ask if the owner (she's very friendly and accommodating) had another option, but I will next time. I haven't had sopapillas for years, but decided to try hers. Yummy good, but more than the two of us could finish (we did anyway-bye diet) so we'll stick to the main menu from now on. This is very much worth your time if you like fresh, nicely presented, and tasty Mexican food. The menu is full of great options, and we'll be trying them on our next trip. Usually I wouldn't rate a restaurant so high based on one trip, but she clearly aims for high quality and friendly service. Not trendy, just very satisfying. Ok so I relocated here from Sioux City, Iowa and there's a taqueria up there, La Juanita (read Yelp reviews), that's very hard to compare to. This place is right up there. I devoured my pastor and asada tacos and came right to Yelp. The hot sauce is amazing and bursting with flavor. Pastor tacos are off the hook. My kids generally don't like authentic Mexican and they inhaled the ground beef tacos (3 for $5.50...what a steal can barely do Taco Bell for that!). Everything about this place is spot on and I haven't had anything in Omaha that even compares so far. Friendly service, great prices and wonderful food. I highly recommend and have found a new favorite for authentic Mexican in Omaha. Will be back and back again! read more

We have gone several times to Taqueria Los Compadres for dinner. Today we were there for lunch. As usual, the service was excellent and the food authentic. We had chips and guacamole to start. Both the guac and the chips were fresh. I had the fajita mix dinner and my fiancé had the taco dinner. Everything was fantastic. We will definitely keep coming back. read more

this is probably the worst mexican food i've ever had in my life. even the queso had no flavor. the "refried beans" were like a bowl of soup that tasted like dish soap. i got the bean burrito, which is kinda hard to mess up, and it had the strangest most disgusting taste, i couldn't even eat half of it. in the picture on the menu it comes with rice and beans, when i got the burrito it came on a plate with 3 pieces of lettuce and 2 tomatoes. really ? the staff was overall pretty nice, but the cashier took about 20 minutes to tell us the total since she was talking on the phone with someone who seemed to be her friend. will never ever go back here again. read more

SO DELICIOUS! As Texans we weren't expecting much..... but WOW! The waitress was so helpful and I think we ended up trying one of everything. I was bummed out when the old Mexican place Zemogs left this space. Loved their food at first but it had gone down hill to some extent before it closed. Anyway, I was happy that a new Mexican place opened up in it's place. the food at Los Compadres is fresh and tasty. Nothing bad so far but I've only been twice now. The owner really goes out of her way to make sure your happy here, which I love at a restaurant. I love the entrepreneurial spirit, and she has it. I walk by this place once a week getting groceries and saw that a new Mexican Taco restaurant had opened up here and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. They have small authentic Mexican tacos at a great price (as well as a full Mexican menu). The tacos have onions and cilantro, not lettuce and cheese (although, you can get more americanized tacos if you like). I prefer the small authentic tacos. I got a sampler of meats, Carne Asada, Al Pastor, Chorizo, Chicken and Carnitas. They were all hot, juicy, and tasty. I preferred the Asada and Chorizo but the Carnitas was very good, too. They give you free chips and Salsa while you wait. The Salsa is somewhat spicy with a fair amount of onions, Cilantro and hot peppers. The salsa they give you on the side in a squeeze bottle with the tacos is very hot and tastes like habaneros. They said they have .99 cent tacos on Mondays so I'll be back for sure.
