Worst taqueria ever! Food was gross al pastor was ground up mystery meat with no flavor. I got a wet super burrito told them no salsa an they load it up with pico de gallo, i get home an realize this call them up and the rude girl says pico de gallo isn't salsa (new to me) but agrees to let me exchange it the next day because i live far away. So I come back an they say I cant have a replacement because i didn't bring back the old one witch they never told me to do. Just horrible customer service. read more

The absolute best Mexican food I have ever had. The pastor is amazing, the carnitas are crispy and savory, the prices are great, the chips are house made, the horchata is excellent, the portions are huge, the rice is flavorful unlike most Mexican restaurants, I can go on and on. No wonder other Mexican restaurants in willits buy from Maria's to sell in their own restaurants. The tacos, super burritos, and super nachos are always a go to. They have a 6 dollar taco special that comes with two tacos, your choice of meat, and rice n beans. You can't beat that price for such good food. We have never been dissappointed. My boyfriend and I had 2 of the best burritos we've ever had here at Taqueria Maria...And we are no easy judges--we live in the Mission neighborhood in San Francisco, famous for Mexican food and burritos specifically. The burritos are HUGE and taste really fresh/good quality. Reasonably priced and the staff are incredibly friendly. The restaurant double purposes as a market and there are lots of dry goods and housewares to browse through while waiting for your food. I picked up a packet to make some arroz con leche at home as well as a bottle of Valentina hot sauce. I will definitely eat here again next time I'm in Willits! read more

My wife and I were driving down the coast and stumbled upon this little hole-in-the-wall. Its situated in a strip mall right off of the 101. Don't expect to be flattered by the decor, but the food was spectacular and authentic as you can get. I had 3 different tacos chicken, pork and chorizo, as well as a steak enchilada. I could barely move when I was finished. Very affordable! Nothing fancy about this place, just good down home Mexican food. read more

The only reason I do not give 5 stars is due to the customer service. Don't get me wrong the food is great, and the owners are so sweet but they have a young lady working up front taking orders and giving to go orders and she is beyond unprofessional and blunt/rude. I come back because the food is great but I don't go as often anymore due to the lack of customer service. I was visiting the area and found this place on Yelp, and was very pleased. As most Californios I love me the nachos! And Taqueria Maria did not disappoint. For like 8 bucks I got nachos that stuffed my wife's and my belly! We chose the shredded chicken it was nicely spiced, had lots of pico de gallo and sour cream and quacamole on it! totally awesome! Why not 5 stars? They used bagged tortilla chips! Why not fry the up themselves! For you mexican food snobs, I am from Santa Cruz, so you can use that info to judge my taste, but this place deserves big cred for the area. read more

This is very casual and soooooo yummy! I got the Chile relleno burrito and I still drool thinking about it. I would definitely go back! The only con is that the lady seemed pretty stingy with extras. She brought us a basket with like 12 chips (for two people) and acted incredulous when we wanted more salsa or napkins. read more

Super delicious and excited to say I will come here regularly!! The Rellanos tasted house made with a red sauce rich and not too salty. Chips and salsa are solid. Also a small grocery section to make sure you get a more authentic flavor at home as well. Only thing is the atmosphere inside. Leaving some to be desired. This was the only place I could find in Willits serving a Mexican breakfast; and based on the photos, I was really looking forward to it. Minor fail when they served me machaca and eggs with carnitas (pork) instead of beef. Yes, I know - machaca can technically be pork as well as beef. But sorry...any good taqueria anywhere in Calif. understands that machaca for breakfast should be shredded beef. Other than that, everything was pretty good. Especially liked the oil & pepper type of salsa. Good beans and rice; good tortillas. Great salsa. They seemed like nice folks...I'll definitely be back to sample some more items on the menu. read more

My wife, daughter, and I came in in the middle of a long, hot car ride. What a relief to be treated to such exceptional service and delicious food. We're from TX and eat a lot of Tex-Mex, and Cal-Mex is way different and delicious. We had a couple of specialties of the house: molcajete and shrimp soup. Both were strange (to us) and delicious. So flavorful, so caliente. read more

The food here is excellent, and the service is personal and compassionate. We were dealing with special food needs a few years ago, and found that Taqueria Maria's was the one place in this area where we could get special requests filled by staff who truly cared. For those who didn't have special food needs, the regular menu is always a special treat, plenty to satisfy everyone, and some of the best Mexican food we have ever eaten. There are shelves with food items for purchase, candles, candies, tortillas, and sometimes great tortilla presses brought from Mexico. Everyone in our family loves Taqueria Maria's. read more
