    Chips salsa and drinks

Taqueria Maya is a neighborhood spot in a strip mall. We were trying to get some fresh authentic Mexican food and decided to give it a try. Bright and neutral at the same time. We were told they did some updating when I commented to our server that I liked the colors. Service was friendly and the food came out quickly. Chips and salsa are complimentary and good! I asked for a spicier salsa and IT WAS SPICY. I was told most people don't like it because it's that hot! Shredded chicken tacos (crispy) YUM and shredded chicken enchiladas verde YUM! Excellent value excellent service will definitely be back

This is a very good Mexican restaurant. Started with the complimentary chips and salsa. Chips were served with a traditional salsa and a tomatillo. Both super flavorful. Service was very good as well as the ambiance. I would of given 5 stars had the quality of the chicken used in the Enchiladas been a bit better. Chicken was a bit on chewy and tough side. Overall a great little spot worth checking out.

Wow - in my first review of Taqueria Maya I was a little constructive in my criticism. I'm not sure what they did to change but wow. This has got to be the absolute best Mexican food in the area now. Six of us went for dinner. As I said in my earlier review, they still do a great take-out business. The interior is the same, which I complimented them on before. And, I also said their service was good last time. They have upped their game significantly. First, they finally (finally) got their liquor license. They have a nice, albeit small, bar with a good selection of Tequilas. We all orders margaritas and they were really good. They have these really cool curved glasses which I did capture a picture of. The meal was outstanding. The service even better.

This placing is the best!!! Service is amazing. Drinks are good. Food was quick and very good. Restaurant was clean. Sanitizer at everyone other table due to covid & I felt very comfortable eating here, considering the covid circumstances. If your ever looking for good Mexican food with great service, give this place a shot. You won't be disappointed.

My parents have told me to check out this locally owned taqueria several times,so, I finally did! Due to the pandemic it was take-out only or outside seating so take-out it was! I placed my order online through a third party site which was easy to access. Then, someone from the Restaurant called me to let me know that they didn't have agua de Jamaica At this time but offered to switch my drink, so I went with agua de orchata which was perfectly fresh & flavorful. I ordered the chicken taco salad and really appreciated the way it was arranged because it prevented the Shell to get soggy! It tasted very fresh and would definitely get it again. We also ordered the Chilaquiles verdes which were surprisingly really good! Not many places can make these quite as good! We look forward to returning & very happy with being able to support this local business!

This is the spot to stop by. The Pozole was on point and you're treated like family. Alberto the owner was super attentive. Don't miss out. I'll definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone

Fresh, tasty food in a bright and spacious (although somewhat sparsely furnished) restaurant. We came for dinner on Friday night, and there were a few other tables of diners already eating. This seems like a family run restaurant, and our server was very nice and friendly. As soon as we sat down, she brought chips and salsa to our table. Then she made some green salsa for us, so we had both red and green salsa. The menu is quite extensive, and I decided to order the chicken fajitas plate that came with rice and beans. I had my choice of corn or flour tortillas, and I chose corn. They came out piping hot, and my dinner was served on a ginormous plate. I liked how soft and fresh the tortillas were. I'm a big eater, but I could only finish about half my food, so I took the rest to go. Score! Got two meals for $11, haha. When our server found out it was our first time dining there, she gave us a coupon for a buy one get one free entree. So nice. My food was delicious, so I can't wait to try something else on the menu the next time we visit.

I truly do not understand the high ratings for this unpretentious and easily forgotten storefront. We came on a weekday a few weeks ago, and aside from a wrapping up large group in the main room, there was hardly anyone there. We ordered the Skirt Steak and the Chiles Rellenos. Neither of these stood out, and the steak should never be confused with Carne Tampiqueña, as this one is a roundish pounded piece of meat with little flavor. The accompanied rice and beans were ordinary. Good salsas, however. No fountain beverages, just cans and all the Mexican sodas and the usual beers. Service was perfunctory; perhaps we would have fared better if were friends of the owner, as the table that came in after us appeared to be. Prices, however, were reasonable compared to the latest trends.

So, I stopped in during the week, just after lunch time and found this little hole-in-the wall of a restaurant conveniently nestled in a shopping center next to the local Walmart. Even though I walked in and the restaurant was completely empty, the pure vibrancy of the decor and the cheerfulness of the staff encouraged me to stay. Not to mention that the aroma making its way out from the kitchen was absolutely mouth-watering. I took a seat at the bar while I perused the menu and was delighted in the simplicity of it. You know the food is about to be fire when the menu is simple and a restaurant focuses on what it does well. In addition to the excellent service, the food was absolutely phenomenal. I started off with some chips and salsa.... which was delightfully flavorful and perfectly crisp. Then, I had a bowl of the tortilla soup. Each spoonful was like deja vu. Each bite made me feel like I was in my grandmother's kitchen as a little girl all over again. The broth was perfectly seasoned and each bite came with a chunk of chicken and an assortment of veggies... truly perfecto! Once I was done with the appetizers, I made my decision to try two tacos from the menu. The first was a salmon taco--and it didn't TASTE FISHY. It was grilled to perfection and then paired with an unexpected yet delicious topping of crispy potato strings and chipotle aioli. I ate every bite of this. It was the perfect combination of crunch and flavor, I just couldn't get enough. Then I also ordered the carne asada a cabron taco. Simple, yet dynamically flavorful. I was so full at this point but took this one home to eat at a later time. Still as amazing as the day I ordered it i'm sure. While I neglected to have any desserts or margaritas here, I was assured that they are just as remarkable as anything else. I had a wonderful meal, excellent service and I greatly look forward to going back if i'm ever in the area again for work. 10/10 Highly recommend!!

Nice that they give an ice cream dessert. Enchiladas: good portion, my son tried mole that was spread on top for the first time, he didn't like it, but it doesn't mean it wasn't good, just something new he didn't enjoy. Cactus taco: they made it right. Nice texture with the crispy beets on top. Fish taco: this was ok, it fell apart bc there were so many tomatoes on top the juice softened the corn tortilla. Salad: good but they didn't have many dressing options and the one that came with it didn't have much flavor to add. Overall, cute spot, price is a bit higher here. They have many seafood entrees, seems to be what many guests ordered so maybe thats popular here. Service was good. No issues and things came out timely.
