Went here randomly and ordered some pork and barbacoa tacos to go. Wow.. amazing corn tortillas, great chips and salsa, totally decent giant margarita they'll let you take to go. Best mexican food I've had this far from Mexico. read more

Okay so I've only been a "Toppenishian" for three and a half weeks. Today I made my first venture to one of the many Mexican restaurants in town. I chose Taqueria Mexicana because it's only two blocks from home, has great Yelp reviews, and photos of the menu are online on Yelp. I was not disappointed at all. The salsa that comes with the chips isn't spicy, but it'll clear your sinuses, and I opted for the Chicken Enchilada Rancheras. OMGoodness it was good! I just might have to go back tomorrow! Best Mexican Food in Toppenish! We both had the chimichanga. I had chicken , my husband had shredded beef. It was made to perfection with lettuce , tomatoes, sour cream and guacamole and Mexican cheese! Served with rice and beans. It was the BEST Chimichanga I've ever had'!! And Their salsa is excellent All to top it off everyone who works there are so nice and friendly they make you feel right at home. We can't wait to come back! read more

The proprietor of a local gift shop steered us to Taqueria Mexicana, with a recommendation that it's the best restaurant in town. We were accompanied by friends who live by the Mexican border. (I point this out, since they are more discerning than me with Mexican cuisine.) Simply put, lunch was okay, but in our opinions not worthy of the accolades posted by other Yelpers. If we could give this place 10 stars, we would! We are from out of town and checked Yelp to find a place quickly and Taqueria Mexicana was the first and closest on the list. We took a chance and we're glad we did! We ordered Coronas which were served with chilled glasses with salted rims and lime. Nice! Everything is homemade and fresh. I had 3 street tacos, beef, chicken and shrimp. Our party also ordered the chimichanga (which I will order next time). If you are on the fence, give this place a try!! read more

I am extremely picky about Mexican food but even worse when it comes to tamales. This little place knows EXACTLY how to make great tamales!!! My favorite place to eat! Absolutely the best Adovada tacos I've ever had and the spicy salsa is amazing, super garlicky. The green salsa is mild and goes well on tacos. The enchilada sauce has so much flavor and the beans and rice are soft and seasoned. Chiliquilles are yummy, Chile Relleno is spicy, Pasole is good. Everything has always been fresh and the restaurant is clean. Nice family owned restaurant. Can be a little pricey but it's worth the money. read more

Stopped here for a quick breakfast yesterday. My wife and I split the Huevos Rancheros. The portion size was huge and easily enough for the two of us. It was pretty good, fresh and simple. They also bring out some chips and salsa for you which are ok. Their coffee is awesome, way better than the brown mud water that most cafes will serve you. The owner was super nice and extremely friendly and provided fantastic service. Overall, a really nice place. I would stop here again when I'm in town. read more

Service took forever we didn't get any drinks or chips and salsa until 20-30 minutes in just waiting. Small little restaurant so not sure why it took so long and was pretty empty. Waitress was rude and didn't ask if we needed anything else. Got food poisoning from the shrimp ceviche so beware of that. Will not be coming here again. read more

Salt-rimmed beer glasses: I never had that before. It was really nice with my Negra Modelo. Excellent guacamole. Fast service. On this trip, i did not have any food except the chips and guac. I was looking for a good meal at a local business and hit gold. Taquieria Mexicana is open for take out only, so I got a Quesadilla de lengua and I pleased when the order came with a generous portion of chips and salsa. The food was warm and delicious, and I really enjoyed the salsa as well. There is a nice park across the street to enjoy your meal. And they even offer you a free face mask. read more

Perhaps I caught this little place on a really good night. If so, you should take a shot. The menu is fairly typical but my Bistec Ranchero was seasoned perfectly and tender. The sauce wasn't heavy and it wasn't oozing with cheese. It was just done right. The corn tortillas that accompanied my girlfriend's meal were some of the best I've had in a very long time. It's sort of a shabby little place but none the worse for the wear if this meal was a true indication. I had the enchiladas... shredded beef and chicken. Both were delicious. My friend had a mango margarita. She enjoyed it and her version of carne asada. Not sure what it was really called but it was good. Service was great and the food came out quickly. The table salsa... they bring out two. One hit an done mild. Both taste fabulous but the mild was too mild and the hot was too hot so we combined the two and it was perfect. Very flavorful. If I come Thur here again, I'll definitely stop. read more
