Birria tacos were delicious. I ordered the 3 hard shell tacos with cheese and I was full! The other dish options looked interesting, like the grilled cheese birria. I'll have to try it next time. Birria on Valentine's Day? Um, yes! Great little spot here in Pico. Natalia was super nice and helpful! I got the #1 Birria Special with a champurrado. Tacos had so much flavor and the consomé was just right! El champurrado was very good as well, though l burned the roof of my mouth because it was so hot (be careful!) My wife got The Shack Sampler with an horchata and she loved it too. She agreed that flavor was there. Y la horchata? delicious! 10/10 will return! I wasn't gonna get cheese bur the wonderful employee, Nathalia, put half on without charge so I can try- soooo much better. It's a walk up stand and easier to place my order when in Spanish. It was easy to order from, the menu was taped on the counter and easy to read. I wa able to look at the menu beforehand and saw what I wanted. The wait wasn't too long and it was still piping hot when we got home. I got the Shack Sampler which have the mulita, keto taco, and the quesotaco with the consome on the side. Drool worthy the order came with some lime slices and radish slices as well. Just move back into a area I lived for many years well I a hop skip and a jump from from this mom and pop establishment. The California burrito was big and good flavor I love the way they cut it in half. Soft taco asada was great too. Lots of meat. My wife says the Birria tacos were bomb and my daughter thought the nachos were good surprise that the personal nachos was big. To think how big the bigger is?! I love mom and pops like this it's about the food prep not just making it. It's about the pride. Customer service was great like talking to your neighbor very detailed and knowledable. It's a small hole in the wall so it's a but noisy it's right in front of Washington blvd. Has a few chairs to relax and eat. Or to go as I did. Normally I love coming here to eat. Today I ordered at 8:29 two meals and two drinks. A skinny old short lady was rude to say that they charge for extra of the drink without ice yet all the times I've came they never told me it was an extra fee. She went to the back and took the "light ice" off and it was so little after. I did not want to make a scene so I just took it and left. First time I've had a bad experience... The Tacos dorados with cheese are bomb!! Yellow and red salsa are really good. I'm usually a green salsa type of girl but theirs is ehhh wouldn't get it again. Consome is alright..The only complaint is that the tacos are expensive.. $5 for one taco.. I really wanted to love this place and give them a high rating. Let's see, where should I begin....ahhhhh yes, their loaded fries! They must have used old rancid oil because my fries tasted nasty! Next, the rancid chips that came along side my birria ramen, that were probably fried in the same old rancid oil that the fries were fried in! The birria ramen was just OK, nothing special and a little too salty. My son had some burrito, I can't recall, but he said it was OK. The tonkotsu ramen had a slightly rich broth that was flavorful and a decent portion of noodles. We opted not to order the ramen with the egg since we were also trying the rice bowls. I feel like I can partly blame those who can't handle spice, numbing or not, and or people with generally normie tastes. Anyways, enough of that diatribe. Parking can get horrible and fisted here, even though there's parking in the pit. The best bet is to just park at the 99 Ranch Market across the street and walk over. This restaurant also gets super busy too and there's limited tables and seating inside for how popular it is. They did collabs too, like the Naruto one. There were instructions on how to properly eat tsukemen and staff was friendly and polite too. I know they tried to make the ambiance a bit nicer and fancier, but with the constant slew of customers and people, you can only do so much. Since it's a tsukemen restaurant, I always just got tsukemen here. I'd get the spicy chashu tsukemen. Comes with a generous portion of chashu pork and is made with their homemade spices. It also comes with a soft boiled egg, a slice of lime to squeeze in for taste, green onions and a sheet nori. After dipping the noodles, you can ask for soup wari to eat the rest of the broth in. It's a delicious and hefty portion and sorta justifies the $30 for a bowl of tsukemen thing. Flavorful broth with a depth of delicious spices. Nice thick noodles that absorb the broth nicely. I like that you get a good amount of chashu. Adding the lime makes the noodles a bit more refreshing if you get a bit tired of the taste. Spicy doesn't make it spicy at all, but at the very least gave a bit of heat to it. There's other Tsujitas out there, just now a bit farther.
