    Tripa Tacos

Horrible experience, genuinely wish I could leave 0 stars. We waited over 40 minutes for our food, customers who had been there for 10 minutes were getting food before us. The waitress were flirting with the boys at other tables. When I went to ask the girl working cashier she went to the kitchen to ask about our order and one of the girls working in the kitchen just threw the receipt at her...really unprofessional. The way the restaurant was busy I assumed the 40 minutes I waited the food was going to be amazing. The worst tacos I've had in my life, undercooked, no flavor. To be honest the tripas could have still been attached to cow from how undercooked it was. REALLY obvious they just threw our food on a plate with a cold tortilla and served it to us. The tortilla had more flavor than the meat...not to mention overpriced for the 4 pieces of meat that are actually on the taco. Save your time and drive to Taco Bell down the street.

Wow! Didn't realize we were staying in town on Prom and wedding weekend. Downtown crazy busy. Nick…read moreat the Compton recommended Blu. SO glad he did! Tenny was our waiter. Super job! Great recommendations and when the special we ordered was sold out we were able to change the fish for the same prep. Started with a blueberry margarita, which was tart but excellent. I like grapefruit (I peel it like an Orange and eat the wedges without sugar) so right up my alley. Even my wife (who doesn't like grapefruit) loved this drink. Had the Ceviche app. Really good. I am kind of a ceviche expert (have been eating it and a similar food called kelaguin all over the world) and this may be the best we have had in the States. We shared the lobster ravioli and a pecan crusted red snapper (the monkfish was sold out) and both were great. Ravioli was exceptional. Three pieces, shrimp and perfect sauce. Lots of lobster in the filling. The snapper which again was the substitute for the monkfish was light with a more subtle flavor but was served with really good mashed potatoes and broccoli. Unfortunately the ravioli came out first (had to change the fish so slight delay) so the strength of the ravioli flavor would have been better as the second shared entree due to the subtleness of the pecan crusted snapper. But really that is not a complaint. Tight rooms, packed with tables and people. Even so not too loud to have a conversation and everyone was super nice. We will eat here again next time we visit.

The presentation of the rolls was horrible--looked like it was made on an assembly line without any care for what made it onto each individual piece of the roll. The rolls also just weren't made well and many of the pieces fell apart after attempting to pick them up. Worst part of the whole thing was the embarrassing attempt to have lemon be apart of the rolls. The lemon slices were big and non-uniform--they looked like they belonged slotted on the rim of a glass of water not on a sushi roll. Instead of providing a nice hint of tartness, the lemon just overpowered any other flavor. Beyond that, they were just carelessly strewn across the top of the roll, so the coverage for individual pieces was laughable. Horrible experience. Up until this time, I would have been recommending Blu over Junto, but now I'm not even sure it ranks higher than Sushi House. Don't plan to be back anytime soon.

It's a trash restaurant charging 5 star dining prices. They won't even plate a porterhouse steak onto two plates if you ask. Told us we needed to do it ourselves. She laughed at us and said 'he's not going to do that,' referring to the chef. All the other restaurants that serve a porterhouse do that standard because it's a massive steak that two people share, and they offer before you have to ask. Just snobby and weird attitude about certain things. They also serve a cheap version of Caymus wine, but have it priced like it's the premium version (my friend knows wine). 3.5 hours is too long to wait for a meal, especially on a weeknight when the restaurant is empty. They also didn't apologize, acted like this was completely normal, and said 'we didn't know you were in a hurry.' Really? Pay the same price and pick a legitimate high end restaurant like Sestina, Conifer, Junto, Ruth Chris, or Atlas. This place is a joke and I still get mad when I drive by. No idea how they stay in business except maybe for tourists who don't know how bad this place is until they've wasted their time and money. We need better restaurants in this area.

Certainly the best steaks and top notch seafood is served here. Been here many times and never disappointed. The side dishes are as good as the main courses as well..
