eggshell found in my breakfast taco
    Analiya R.

We ate here for brunch as it was the only place that was not packed so we thought we'd give this small cute family dinner a shot. Not to any surprise as to why it was not loaded the barbacoa was nothing but fat no meat and the worst consistency I have ever had. Not to mention we ordered egg and bacon tacos a classic hard to mess up and there were eggshells found and the lady said "its okay its natural because I made them fresh not from fake egg" However this is not okay nor safe. It is a choking hazard and could easily cut up your esophagus or stomach lining not to mention they can transmit salmonella.

I ordered a barbacoa torta came out super sloppy !Horrible service no aguas frescas or chips because they had ordered, had to buy a side of avocado because 2 tiny slices came with the torta. The torta was a mess and salsa was super runny! Definitely will not be spending money here again!!

This place is kind of hidden gem. You have to be looking in order to see it because the way it's facing. Everyone who was working was very friendly. We asked for chips and salsa (it's a must for us when we eat out) they typically don't do chips and salsa in the morning but they did for us anyways. We Order two fajita beef tacos with cilantro and onion. One chorizo and egg. The chips and salsa was delicious by the wayy.

Hands down, the worst place to eat. My friend and I were giving this place a try because we like to support small business. We got there and we sat where we could find room because there were max, 8 tables. Okay, so we sit down, and I'm looking through the menu. The prices are a bit up there for really small portion meals. The owner took our order and was very nice and amable. I asked for queso because its usually what I want. Plus they didn't offer chips or salsa.. Anyways, I had read on yelp that the salsa was good.... I was highly disappointed because it was just water.... It was so bad when we tried the cheese, it was as if they had poured it out of the can into the bowl. She brought us our food. The meat in my tacos was so salty and bad. I ate it cause I was hungry plus I had paid $11 something for them tacos. My friend couldn't even finish the food due to the smell and horrid taste of the beans and rice. When we went it was New Year's Eve and they were closing early too. This place is not good and y'all need to go to a real taqueria.

Just moved to the area from Corpus, so my expectations may be high when it comes to taquerias. I ordered to go. This place was a big disappointment. Ordered 5 taquitos and the chilaquiles verde plate. The flour tortillas were very thin, small, and flavorless . The refried beans were super soupy with little flavor. They used whole tortilla chips for the chilaquiles, which immediately turned to mush. Very little quality, I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

I live right around the corner from this place, and somehow it took me two years to finally try it. I'm glad that I did, though, as the food was great! The place looks a little sketchy and is extremely simple, but it's certainly worth trying. I got a barbacoa torta to go, and due to the layout, was able to stand there and watch them make it. They certainly put a lot of effort into making it fresh for you (toasting the bun, for example). The barbacoa was a little fattier than I prefer, but still tasted great, and the sandwich was definitely big enough to fill me up for dinner. Not a lot of crema on it, which was appreciated. In addition, the torta had a big slice of ham on it, which I was a little worried about when I first saw, but ended up tasting great with the rest of the sandwich. The staff was super-friendly and gave me my food with a big smile. I'll definitely be visiting this place again!

Wasn't on the menu but they make it happen

Ok so we went over to Bay Area Meat market to get some stuff to grill. My wife was hungry so on the way back I suggested we stop at this taqueria I had spotted on Nasa one right close to Seabrook. It looked like a great little authentic spot. Inside it is simple with maybe 10 or so Formica type tables. Up on the wall are some pictures of the food items they sell. We just wanted something quick so I suggested Tortas. They do have a white board with daily specials I plan on trying soon. The people inside were super friendly and spoke good english so it was easy to communicate. We got ours to go since we had meat in the car. I had the Beef Torta and my wife had the chicken. The Torta roll was huge and soft. Really nice. Mine had some fajita beef and my wife had fajita chicken on hers(all white meat). Each Torta came with lettuce, tomato, onions which were all fresh and crisp. They also have some refried beans, avocado slices and some Crema (mexican sour cream). The real surprise to me was that both tortas had a slice of grilled ham and a slice of white cheese as well. My wife did not care for the Crema but otherwise these were some awesome sandwiches. They are messy to eat and really more than I could eat for lunch. At under 5 dollars these were a bargain. I plan to go back and try a sit down meal maybe at one of the outdoor picnic tables before the weather gets too hot. This is a BYOB place also so stop at a store and get you some cold beers and bring them along. This ain't no tex mex joint either. They also server breakfast which I can't wait to try. I will update after several more visits. If your are looking for a good Taqueria then give this on a try. I think you will enjoy it.

Tortas are amazing. Pechuga de Pollo is delicious and absolutely fresh. My favorite is the Huaraches. 10/10 I come here every time I want the real deal. Service is top notch and it's quick, simple and delicious. Come on over.

Tacos were homemade and fast! Loved the three taco plate with beef fajitas, rice & beans. My boyfriend got the beef fajitas nachos and loved them! Their salsa was good and I loved their chips! Yummy!

Well..... the food was okay.. we had a large party of 10, so many different dishes were ordered and sampled.. the food overall is okay, but nothing wow about it.. rice was mid.. it just didn't hit.. if they said it was day old rice I'd believe it.. the beans tasted like they were from a bag or something.. again. They were okay not bad but not amazing, but neither rice or beans tasted homemade or freshly made, I'm Mexican and eat them daily. I feel like I know the difference but taste is completely subjective. Service was friendly our waiter was patient and took the time to answer our questions and concerns. They gave us chips and salsa, I'm visiting Texas and so far every place gives me warm salsa, maybe it's a Texas thing but it's just not something I'm used to but it tasted good just weird it's warm.. We had an issue with the horchata, not tasting at all like horchata, we asked the server what was in it and he was completely clueless and said I don't know, and on his phone while we asked this and just seemed not happy to be there, but they swapped it no problem.. thanks again, we got the lemonade and it was delicious. I ordered the carnitas and they were amazing.. I would recommend you get them yourself I've had lots throughout my life and they're definitely top 3. My mom ordered the shrimp cocktail, it didn't hit.. we ended up sharing my carnitas plate. I don't recommend the shrimp cocktail, the shrimps were tiny, precooked and I could tell they came frozen.. I love ketchup, but this was an excess. Idk something just wasn't right.. my mom ate maybe 1/4 of it and was done.. cousins got burgers and fries they were basic but hit the spot, someone else got fajitas and they hit.. enchiladas were yummy, someone got a tamale I didn't try it but they ate it all.. same with the crunchy tacos and tostadas.. overall the place was okay. Ambiance was great, it's nicely decorated and very cheerful., services was friendly and we finished it off with complimentary self serve ice cream..

Let's start with the good and end with the bad. First off,…read morethe horchata was really good definitely one of the highlights of the meal. The torta, though? Not going to lie... pretty mid. The fajita had good flavor, but there was nowhere near enough meat. There was so little fajita on it that I started wondering if the torta was on a diet. By the time I got back to work and actually sat down to eat it, the bread was already getting soggy from the mayo, which didn't help. For $11, I was expecting a considerably bigger torta and a decent amount of meat. At this size and portion, I'd say $5-$7 would be more reasonable. The rice was probably the weakest part of the meal. It was very plain and didn't have much flavor at all. I also tried the green and red sauces. Green sauce was actually pretty good. The red sauce, however, tasted like regular Pace Picante sauce... just watered down. I've seen some other reviews saying the tacos are pretty small, and after this experience, I'm definitely curious to see for myself. I'll be back for the tacos, so stay tuned for the Taco Update. Overall, not my favorite spot, but I wouldn't completely write it off. Maybe I'll swing by every few months or more and give it another shot. The tacos might redeem this place... we'll see.

I'm finally dusting off my old 2017 review for Boondoggles to provide an update…read more I returned here last night for a pre-birthday outing. While randomly Googling, I remembered Boondoggles and decided to give the 'old place' another try. My first visit was for a dinner with classmates from UHCL; my second was with my brother. The eatery looked practically the same as it did nearly eight years ago. Its dive bar meets German beer hall vibe is still very much alive, and the place was still bustling with people. I came in with fish and chips on my mind, but a lengthy scan of the menu led me to the Florentini Chicken, while my brother ordered the shrimp po-boy. The Florentini Chicken was really good, and I think it's a solid choice for the health-conscious. The chicken was tender and the vegetables were perfectly crisp. My only wish was that the entire dish had been a bit larger, as the mashed potatoes were gone in just a few spoonfuls. On reflection, while the Florentini Chicken deserves a try, I'll probably stick with pizza next time. I asked my brother how he liked his shrimp po-boy, and he had no complaints, so I'll take that as a sign he enjoyed it. Price-wise, while the costs may have risen over the years, they were not unreasonable.
