    Great drinks

We stopped by this little Mexican joint because it was right across from the Hampton Inn we happened to be staying out while in Seabrook, TX. This place caught our eye because my wife was looking for a place that served a fun drink and they had a rotating cocktail flight that looked really interesting. I do have to give this place credit for trying to stick out from the competition. From walking in, they have a lot of things that they offer to their customers to enhance the experience including great daily drink specials, free soft serve ice cream, a huge expansive menu, and as I mentioned before, cocktail flights. So did we do try the flight? Unfortunately, the month we came by, the flight was adult soda flavors which didn't quite appeal to our taste buds. Instead, we tried the Acapulco which was a mix of rum, fresh citrus, and blue curacao. It was the refreshment I exactly wanted after walking all day in the hot Texas sun. Now on to the food. Portions, like many Mexican joints, are large and very filling. We sampled a little bit of everything by ordering a couple different mixed plates. All of the food was tasty, I especially like the refried beans here. The one thing that really stuck out though was their green poblano sauce. OMG, that sauce was delish. I ordered a side order of just that sauce so that I could pour that stuff on everything I ate. So good. I wish I could have bought a bottle! Service was quick and friendly. You could tell they were so grateful to have you in. Great place, give them some love and support because they are working hard to earn it!

First time here! Although not impressed with salsa, which is usually how I choose my Mexican restaurants , the service, queso, food and definitely margarita flights would be a good reason to return!!

The chips and salsa alone were enough to keep me coming back. Red and green were both excellent. The margarita is why I'll come back regardless. Perfectly balanced, not too sweet. Bartender had a smile on his face every time he talked to me and never left me waiting for anything.

Didn't pay much attention to ambience. First time here, and I will come back. Ordered the Pollo Jalisco with charro beans and poblano sauce (not shown) on the side. The charro beans were like home cooked. Fabulous. The poblano sauce over the top of the chicken and pico was great. I sat at the bar and Casandra was so sweet and knowledgeable. Her recommendations were great.

I had a jalapeño margarita hand made on the rocks. The seafood enchiladas with rice and grilled veggies. Very fresh. Service was great. And I got to watch the lakers play on tv.

Well..... the food was okay.. we had a large party of 10, so many different dishes were ordered and sampled.. the food overall is okay, but nothing wow about it.. rice was mid.. it just didn't hit.. if they said it was day old rice I'd believe it.. the beans tasted like they were from a bag or something.. again. They were okay not bad but not amazing, but neither rice or beans tasted homemade or freshly made, I'm Mexican and eat them daily. I feel like I know the difference but taste is completely subjective. Service was friendly our waiter was patient and took the time to answer our questions and concerns. They gave us chips and salsa, I'm visiting Texas and so far every place gives me warm salsa, maybe it's a Texas thing but it's just not something I'm used to but it tasted good just weird it's warm.. We had an issue with the horchata, not tasting at all like horchata, we asked the server what was in it and he was completely clueless and said I don't know, and on his phone while we asked this and just seemed not happy to be there, but they swapped it no problem.. thanks again, we got the lemonade and it was delicious. I ordered the carnitas and they were amazing.. I would recommend you get them yourself I've had lots throughout my life and they're definitely top 3. My mom ordered the shrimp cocktail, it didn't hit.. we ended up sharing my carnitas plate. I don't recommend the shrimp cocktail, the shrimps were tiny, precooked and I could tell they came frozen.. I love ketchup, but this was an excess. Idk something just wasn't right.. my mom ate maybe 1/4 of it and was done.. cousins got burgers and fries they were basic but hit the spot, someone else got fajitas and they hit.. enchiladas were yummy, someone got a tamale I didn't try it but they ate it all.. same with the crunchy tacos and tostadas.. overall the place was okay. Ambiance was great, it's nicely decorated and very cheerful., services was friendly and we finished it off with complimentary self serve ice cream..

I came across this place with tons of great reviews, and the food looked amazing, so I decided to give it a shot. It's only about 15 minutes from where I am in League City, and the place was super nice and clean. The staff was very attentive and friendly and I ordered 4 breakfast tacos with chorizo, potato, and egg. They were SO good! I honestly have no complaints about the food. My only gripe is that I wish they gave a little more salsa, especially for the size of the tacos. I ordered 4 tacos and was only given 3 tiny 1-ounce cups of salsa not even one per taco. I asked if I could get a couple more, but they said there was an extra charge for them. I thought that was a little strange, especially since they were such small portions and since they have some at the table if you sit and eat. Luckily, I had some salsa at home, so I took the tacos home and absolutely killed them. I'll definitely be back and would recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for some really good breakfast tacos!

Let's start with the good and end with the bad. First off,…read morethe horchata was really good definitely one of the highlights of the meal. The torta, though? Not going to lie... pretty mid. The fajita had good flavor, but there was nowhere near enough meat. There was so little fajita on it that I started wondering if the torta was on a diet. By the time I got back to work and actually sat down to eat it, the bread was already getting soggy from the mayo, which didn't help. For $11, I was expecting a considerably bigger torta and a decent amount of meat. At this size and portion, I'd say $5-$7 would be more reasonable. The rice was probably the weakest part of the meal. It was very plain and didn't have much flavor at all. I also tried the green and red sauces. Green sauce was actually pretty good. The red sauce, however, tasted like regular Pace Picante sauce... just watered down. I've seen some other reviews saying the tacos are pretty small, and after this experience, I'm definitely curious to see for myself. I'll be back for the tacos, so stay tuned for the Taco Update. Overall, not my favorite spot, but I wouldn't completely write it off. Maybe I'll swing by every few months or more and give it another shot. The tacos might redeem this place... we'll see.

While randomly Googling, I remembered Boondoggles and decided to give the 'old place' another try. My first visit was for a dinner with classmates from UHCL; my second was with my brother. The eatery looked practically the same as it did nearly eight years ago. Its dive bar meets German beer hall vibe is still very much alive, and the place was still bustling with people. I came in with fish and chips on my mind, but a lengthy scan of the menu led me to the Florentini Chicken, while my brother ordered the shrimp po-boy. The Florentini Chicken was really good, and I think it's a solid choice for the health-conscious. The chicken was tender and the vegetables were perfectly crisp. My only wish was that the entire dish had been a bit larger, as the mashed potatoes were gone in just a few spoonfuls. On reflection, while the Florentini Chicken deserves a try, I'll probably stick with pizza next time. I asked my brother how he liked his shrimp po-boy, and he had no complaints, so I'll take that as a sign he enjoyed it. Price-wise, while the costs may have risen over the years, they were not unreasonable.
