This is a cute atmosphere although it feels a little bit tired in the smell when you first walked in is not appealing. Their warm chips and green and red sauces are excellent and the customer service is super friendly. It seems like a real local kind of place where everyone knows your name. I have the enchiladas, which had a very interesting flavor and were super good. My brother had shrimp tacos and he said that they were really good too. It's quiet inside no loud music no bands playing, so it's a perfect place for people with hearing aids! Prices are fair. I think it was around $40 for the both of us. We had both had margaritas plus an entrée. They also have outdoor seating, which could be really fun when the weather is nice. read more

This is place was just OK on our visit. Not great. But not bad. First, the place is clean, but it is also dank (I.e., cool and damp) much like some other restaurants along NASA Parkway that sit near the water. Not a deal-breaker. Service here on our visit was attentive and friendly. As I do on a first visit to every Tex-Mex joint, I ordered a combo platter to taste a little bit of everything. Additionally I ordered an a la carte tostada. My wife had a single cheese enchilada with rice and beans. The mains were decent -- adequately seasoned and served hot & fresh. But nothing really stood out. The rice here is OK. The beans tasted more like an afterthought that happened in the kitchen. I have two rules when it comes to (red) salsa. Rule No. 1 -- it must be served cold. Rule No. 2 -- Cumin has no place as an ingredient. Gabachos' salsa is served cold, but if the cumin in this stuff was a taxi cab, I could hail it from a mile away! Why do some Tex-Mex joints insist on this?!? I've lived in El Lago/Seabrook for 6 years and finally tried this place.. now I'm wondering why I took so long. My gf had the Flamado beef/chicken and it was really tasty. She also had their mango margarita and it wasn't too sweet, just like she likes them. I had the snapper fish taco grilled and it was very good. My friend brought me here after spending the whole afternoon catching up on her schoolwork. The place was practically quiet, which made for a very nice ambience. If anything, though it was located on the very busy NASA Road 1, it had an out-of-the-way feel. Supposedly, not too many people know about the eatery. I sure didn't until today. The food? Mas o menos (Spanish: hit or miss). I ordered the taco plate consisting of three soft beef tacos, rice, and refried beans. The lone positive was the tacos. The beef was nicely seasoned and the vegetables were fresh. I could've sworn that the side dishes were riddled with too much salt. I'm iffy as to whether I'll give the place another shot. There may be other dishes, but they're accompanied by the rice and beans of which I'm not too crazy about. read more

We ordered takeout and the lady said it would be ready in 10 minutes. We live fairly close so it only took 8-10 minutes for me to get there. When I arrived it wasn't ready, but that's ok. The man told me they were waiting on the fajitas. So far so good right? Upon opening the boxes when I got home the fajita meat was VERY disappointing. It was the thinnest "fajita" meat I've ever seen. Literally cardboard box thin. Zero flavor and cold....I waited because the fajitas weren't ready? One would think they would be at least warm. We have fajitas at almost every Mexican restaurant we go. The way it was textured I'm not even sure it was beef. On to the beans.....the refried beans were no doubt from a can. They smelled weird. The boracho beans were watered down and nasty. My son's tacos....let's just say, avoid those as well. He took a couple bites and spit them out. Greasy ground meat. I saw a past post that said go across the street to the gas station and order from the taco truck. Probably not a bad idea. Or even Jack in the crack next door. Oh, almost forgot. Remember I had to wait? I sat at the bar. I don't drink but I did see how he makes your "margaritas". Let's just say you're not getting the tequila that comes from those nice, name brand bottles on the wall behind the bar. Unless they are pouring that name brand tequila into a plastic bottle w/o a label on it. Just short of $70.00, for what? Over priced and gross. I see lots of posts with high ratings. Must be friends and family members or folks that have never had good Mexican food. To sum it all up, AVOID THIS PLACE, unless you like "mystery margaritas" because that food is horrible. read more

I always enjoy when Mexican food restaurants have two salsas that come out with the chips, and Gabacho's had that. We came for national margarita day, even though they weren't offering any deals we got a margarita for $4.50 during happy hour. The food was a little too salty for me, and that's saying a lot because I love salt! The beans tasted like they came from a can. Overall it was a good trip. This was the best restaurant experience I have had in a VERY long time. Our server Kim was amazing. Immediately engaged with our kids, we had clearly just left NASA and she asked them all about it. Kim let us know about any/all specials and even have recommendations for drinks. Chips and drinks came out quickly. I ordered the Tostada and the husband got tacos pibil... both awesome. We both ate them took quick to get a picture. The restaurant is clean and inviting. I CANNOT rave about Kim our server enough. She made our whole day. 10/10 recommend! Don't pass it up! read more

CREDIT CARD FRAUD!!! Ate here regularly since I moved to Seabrook but on January 6th 2021 I ordered to go like I always do and the waiter decided to add his own tip in. I checked my bank account on the 8th and saw they charged me a different amount than I signed to. So I called them back. The person who answered couldn't care less and said the manager was busy and to try to call back in 30 min. The manager called me back 20 min later to apologize which was cool but all they said was we will return your tip, we will talk to the employee, ask why he did it, it won't happen again, please don't call the police. Was given about 2ounces queso and I ordered a 4.50$ size, I was basically given a side of queso and charged for half an order. The man that I talked to kept changing the prices on me, and he was very condescending. My DoorDash driver even told me that they didn't seem to have their act together when he got there to pick up my order. I will never patronize this establishment again. So I have lived in the area for almost 10 years, and I have lived next to gabachos at least 2 times in those 10 years and because of bad reviews never visited. I decided today for a quick lunch I'd give it a try. Upon walking in the place smelled older which doesn't matter a lot of these seabrook places are like that. At 12:30 on a weekday it was dead which didn't give me much hope. The chips and salsa were ok nothing to write home about. In fact iguana Ranas chips and salsa are waaayyyy better. I ordered cheese enchiladas with Queso. It was just ok kind of like a frozen dinner. The waitress was great and quick so service is really good. Pretty darn good. I had never been here, as I had heard some coworkers say it wasn't that good, so I just never bothered. When I went out to lunch with some different coworkers, this place was suggested and since I wasn't driving, or paying, I was down. It wasn't very busy at 11 am, and we were seated and served super quick by a really sweet waitress. They have a huge menu, and it was hard to choose what to get as everything sounded good. I finally decided on the chicken chimichangas from the lunch menu with the Gabachos cream sauce which was so freaking good! We also had queso and guacamole and both were very good! The chips and salsa was fantastic, and the waitress kept them filled, so of course I kept on eating. The green sauce was really good, and the red salsa was good as well. It seemed a little pricey, but not too bad. I would add this place to my rotation if my other regular places are closed or we wanted something a little different. It was a good, solid, lunch and definitely good if you're on a time crunch for lunch! read more

Amazing Mexican food! A nice little restaurant on NASA with really good salsa and green sauce (I'm sure it's like tomatillo or something but I call it what I call it ). I had the chicken and spinach enchiladas and they are so dang good! Tortillas packed with spinach and chicken then slathered in cheese. I mean how good is that?! We used to order from Garbacho's and always enjoyed our food. The prices were fair, and we never had problems with our orders. Tonight, we ordered 3 meals for carry out. When we opened the bag with our order, it only included 2 of our meals. We called immediately to let the restaurant know that one of our meals was not packed. We were told that the person who took our order was not working at that time anymore even though it was not an even hour where shift changes occur. The person at the restaurant stated that we only ordered 2 items and were charged for only 2 items. As we disputed the amount that we paid, we were told different prices which were way higher than our menu showed. It could be that we had an old menu,but nearly $40 seemed a bit steep for a taco salad and a burrito. As of today, we lost trust in this business as they did not care that we were held short one item. We feel taken advantage of because the person initially taking our order restated the order of all 3 items with the price that we were charged for 2 items. Omgosh, sooo enjoyed our carry out meal from here! I ordered the beef Al Carbon and the beef was tender and tasty. Others goth the California burrito, stuffed avacados and something with chicken, cheese and mushrooms that looked soo delicious if I liked mushrooms there was so much food each meal could have fed two people. We also got the guacamole and queso which was gooey and perfect. It was hard to not over eat. Their menu reminded me of our favorite Mexican restaurant at home. The flavor or my eggs with chorizo was pretty good and the retried beans were alright, but it was all clearly microwaved, so the eggs were rubbery and the tortillas were rubbery. The pancakes may have been the only thing not microwaved and they were good, although they forgot one of our orders. They did make another stack and bring them out. read more

To me this is the most underrated Mexican place in the Seabrook/TLV area. It's not fancy, not edgy, but solid. Service is always quick. I agree with a previous poster, this is not the place for a big group more than 6. The menu is really diverse, everything I've had is really good, nothing has been below expectation. Yet everything I've had, can't say I've had better anywhere else. I find myself thinking "I could go to X place and wait 30 minutes and get food, or I can slide into Gabachos and get food more quickly and it will be at least as good. Great margaritas, and really good prices. It can't be that bad, many Mexican places failed in the same location, but it seems to persist, with expansion, and now offering breakfast on weekends. ****Update**** A recent visit has shown a changed menu with higher prices for the plates ($9.99 for most). For kids or those not too hungry, you might try a la carte, my wife got one verde Enchilada ($2.50) and side of rice ($1.25, and it was more plentiful than came on my platter) and didn't leave hungry.
