    BBQ Combo Meal

Renee's Kitchenette is such a neighborhood treasure. Everyone who works here is so lovely and welcoming, and it truly feels like you're hanging out at someone's home. The food is absolutely delicious, and the portions are GENEROUS, especially with the combination platters. Very affordable as well. It's easily among the best Filipino restaurants I've ever been to, and I feel lucky to have it in my own neighborhood.

The lechon was very tasty and wonderfully cooked. We also got the oxtail kare kare, though the flavors could have worked together a bit more. Finally, the service could have been a bit more attentive. Overall, prices are great and would definitely come back here to try out more dishes.

    BBQ Grilled Sampler

Make sure you come here hungry, we definitely ordered way too much food for 3 people but it was delicious. We ordered: * BBQ Grilled Sampler ($30) * Fried Sampler ($30) * Dinuguan ($14) * Oxtail Kare-Kare ($24) * Calamansi Juice ($5) * Calamansi Iced Tea ($5) * Warm Ube con Hielo ($8) Everything here is delicious. It felt like you were eating at someone's house. BBQ meat was slightly sweet and well marinated. The fried sampler was heavenly especially paired with the various dipping sauces from bagoong to spicy. Dinuguan was savory and paired well with white rice, don't be intimidated because it says it's a pork blood stew. The oxtail Kare Kare was tender and loved the peanut butter sauce. If you get the warm Ube, just make sure you mix it very well to get the perfect bite! This place is a must try in Woodside/Queens if you're trying to find good Filipino food!

This was my first time visiting Renee's. My family and I came here on 10/18/2025, arriving around 5:30 p.m. for dinner. The restaurant is quite small inside. They have high chairs available for babies, which is nice. The staff were friendly for the most part and seated us quickly. My husband ordered the popular Mixed Grill, while my mom and I both ordered Goto. We also got Sizzling Sisig and Lumpiang Shanghai to share. Two generous portions of garlic rice came out first, but they were a bit stale and not as warm as I would've liked. The flavor was bland and could've used more seasoning. The Goto was hot and tasted good overall although a bit more yellow than I'm used to. My mom commented that they probably used too much saffron, which explains the very yellow color. The Mixed Grill looked mouthwatering when it arrived and it smelled great and looked even better. When my husband bit into the pork BBQ skewer, he said it was a bit tough and didn't touch it again for the rest of our visit. He finished the chicken and pork belly from the platter and decided to take the remaining pork BBQ stick and longanisa home. Fast forward to Sunday night: my husband wanted to have the leftover pork BBQ stick. As he sliced the meat off the skewer to reheat it in the oven, he suddenly called me over in shock. The inside of the pork BBQ was completely raw--not just under cooked, but raw throughout the entire skewer. My jaw dropped. I've never encountered anything like that before. I've posted pictures so everyone can see how obvious it is that it's raw inside. When grilling, it's important to watch the cooking temperature. If the heat is too high, the outside of the meat can cook too quickly, burning the sugars in the marinade and creating the illusion that the meat is fully cooked. That's what happened in this case, the person handling the grill, whether untrained or simply careless, assumed the meat was done when in reality only the exterior was cooked, while the inside remained completely raw. Naturally, we were quite upset and shocked. My husband hadn't been feeling well that Saturday night after we got home, and now we know why -- he had taken a bite of the poorly cooked pork BBQ stick. Thankfully, he didn't bite into a raw portion, but the contamination was clearly there, which explains why he felt unwell. We honestly got lucky that he didn't become more seriously ill. We decided to contact the restaurant because this is completely unacceptable. Serving raw pork is a serious food safety issue, and the staff needs to be made aware so they can address whoever is responsible for grilling. Someone could become severely ill if this happens again. When I called a few days later, I was told there was no manager available, apparently they're only in on Mondays. The staff I spoke with didn't seem to care or show any real concern. They offered to replace the food, but since we don't live locally, that wasn't a realistic solution. There was no apology, no offer to refund the platter, and no gesture of goodwill for new customers who had such a disappointing first experience. My husband's family owns a restaurant, and I've worked in the food industry myself. It's a normalized practice to comp or refund items when a mistake like this happens. While I understand it's ultimately up to management, in this case, even a partial refund would have been more than appropriate. We were served raw meat, the entire skewer was unsafe to eat. It's frightening to think what could have happened if we'd fed that to our baby instead of the pork belly. What bothers me most is the complete lack of concern. The fact that their kitchen served this, and they didn't even apologize or try to make it right, or even say they would address this with their team, says a lot about their priorities. If we wanted to spend over $100 for raw meat, we could have gone to the grocery store instead. It's hard to find Kapampangan cuisine, and I really wanted to like Renee's. But after this experience, I can't recommend it. If you do decide to go, avoid the grilled items or make sure to cut into your meat before eating. Don't take a blind bite because you will risk getting food poisoning. I've gone ahead and also reported this incident to 311. I take food safety seriously and just because we were lucky not to get severely ill, the next customer might not be so lucky. We won't be returning. I can't support or give money to establishments that don't care for the safety of their own customers. I'm not trying to intentionally hurt this business but they need to do better. We make mistakes, but it's how we fix them that matters.

very cozy family run restaurant with a large menu and affordable prices. sisig was great but pretty acidic probably to counter the greasiness of the pork. its a busy spot but service was still fast!

Renee has really nice Filipino food and feels like a mom and pop shop type of restaurant! I had their pork sisig, fried sampler, and halo halo. I liked the portions it came with, and really loved all of the food well as enjoyed the friendly service here. The fried sampler had a good variety of different kinds of food so that was something I really liked as well!

Quick fix for Filipino cravings. Small place, no reservations but staff are friendly. We ordered chicken, torta talong, avocado shake, sinigang with chicken. Highly recommend and got empanadas Togo!

Yes, give me all the -logs!! My Filipino friends always say that I'm considered Filipino, not by blood nor by marriage but by food. I honestly kind of agree because if you know me IRL, you'd know I am well-versed in the Filipino culture, food, and even some of the language (I also got the accent down a long time ago). Plus, my name can sometimes throw people off because the general mindset is: Asian face + Spanish name = Filipino, but in my case the math doesn't add up. Back to the food - I convinced my ate (work bestie) last weekend to ditch her go-to spot for brunch and come to Renee's with me instead. We woke up late and were on a tight schedule that day so we ended up having to order our food to-go instead. She got the tinapasilog and I got my favorite longsilog. I'm not one to eat fish for my first meal of the day but her food smelled really good. My longsilog as usual, was delectable - very juicy and the right balance of sweet and savory. The only thing I was displeased with that day was the garlic rice. It did not taste right. It tasted like they mixed a spoonful of minced garlic from the jar with old rice and that's not how it's normally supposed to taste. It's my favorite place to grab breakfast in Woodside so I'll be back.

    Ox Ox-Tail Kare Kare

The lechon was nice and crisp...just how it should be. The ox tail was great with the peanut sauce- huge fan of it. Ssig with a fried egg was a staple dish which I would come back for time and time again. I want to come back and try the grilled meats and desserts.

    Fresh Lumpia Lumpiang Sariwa

Fresh lumpia lumpiang sariwa is fantastic! Super fresh, with perfect textures and nice bite to the vegetables. Garlic rice and atchara also pretty good. Not many vegetarian options but typical of Filipino restaurants. Service was very clear and efficient.

    Ube Shake

I've had Filipino food before, but having Filipino food at Renee's has upped the bar. Renee's is a hidden gem in Woodside and you can tell the place is family owned and authentic. The restaurant is casual but homey and the restaurant wasn't crowded on an early evening on Friday. My friend and I didn't take into account that this place closes at 7pm and we got there at 6pm. If you want more time to dine, lunchtime is a better bet. Despite the confusion on why our bill was closed so early, we were provided with friendly service. Our food also came out relatively fast so we had time to eat. My friend and I shared an ube shake, a spicy sisig, and the oxtail kare kare. The ube shake was sweet and creamy and tasted pretty good. I really enjoyed the sizzling spicy sisig which was not super spicy but had a flavorful kick. The sisig was especially great with the garlic rice. The oxtail kare kare with the shrimp paste was also very good and they gave several pieces of tender oxtail. These entrees with the amount of rice given to us were more than enough to fill us up. While Filipino desserts have gotten special attention these past few years, I think Filipino food still hasn't gained enough traction to catch up to the Filipino dessert craze. Renee's is definitely a great introduction to good Filipino food for those who haven't tried.

The place has changed a bit, slightly different decor from the last time we were there. The atmosphere was more "bakya" than Kabayan (from across the street). Still nice. They kept the bar, which is good. The staff was friendly, but kind of rushed us to get our orders before the show started. They explained it would have been more difficult to take orders later. The food was really, really good. All the flavors were on point. For the appetizer, we had some Crispy Chicken Skins. It was nice and crispy, but it needed some more salt. We had the Port Belly Kare-Kare, Beef Salpicao, the Pancit Palabok, Laing and Gambas. The one that stole the show was the Bagnet. That was mind blowing! Very flavorful and I highly recommend it. Dare I say that the food was better than Kabayan. The Key Of C band rocked the whole night through. Everyone was dancing and enjoying the great music. It was such a fun-filled night. The chicken barbecue sticks were flavorful and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the lumpia Shanghai didn't quite hit the mark for me :( it tasted like it was fried in older oil, and the filling was very minimal, so it felt like mostly wrapper. I was most excited to try the pork sinigang. While the broth had good flavor, the pork didn't taste freshly cooked and came across as if it may have been made a day or two prior.
