The quesabirria and consomé are my fav from here, very flavorful and they don't skimp on the meat. Today I tried the steak burrito and the hard taco (chicken) threw DoorDash. Again, they give a lot of meat which is good, I wish the steak was more flavorful but the burrito was overall okay- I've had better, wish they put more crema and beans! I saw this on a list of under-the-radar taquerias, and since it's so close to where I live I had to check it out. And I'm so glad I did! Down a few precarious stairs and into a small, below street level taco joint, my husband and I had a great lunch. We're were able to nab one of the two tables for two (there are also a few cramped bar stools with a small bar for your plates) We both got the sopes and split a tamale. The mole tamale came out first - and it was a great amount of delicious, spicy mole chicken in really flavorful masa. Each bite it just got better! And the sopes were sturdy with a great amount of protein on it - we tried the shredded pork, the chorizo and the Al pastor. They were all great, flavorful option but the al pastor got highest marks from both of us. So glad to know this place is so close to home and looking forward to trying more.... read more

This was a decent place to grab a burrito. I had the vegetarian burrito and a cheese empanada. The empanada was good, but super greasy, so I'd probably skip it next time. The burrito was great - rich and hearty from the beans and rice, and a touch of smokiness from the grilled vegetables. The flour tortilla had just the right amount of chew. A literal hole in the wall...but that's obviously where the best Mexican food comes from. I saw they had birria tacos on the menu which is the hip new thing du jour, and mainly found in Queens so I was happy to not have to schlep halfway across the city. These were the best tacos I had in a while and that consomme? *Chefs kiss* I spent an entire six month work pick working weekends at 225 Street station and now I'm kicking myself for not going here before now. I walk past this restaurant all the time and have avoided ordering because it always looked dingy, but against my better judgment, I decided to order delivery. The guy who takes the delivery order clearly has an issue with following directions. I requested chicken nachos with jalapeño and guacamole and I got none of that. Was craving tacos so I decided to check this place out for a quick bite. A little hole in the wall, as other people say but I know those are the best gems. I got the carnitas (roast pork) and cecina (salted beef) tacos and I will say these were some of the best tacos I've tried here in NYC in a while. Lunch in the Bronx calls for Mexican. With my work colleagues we called for takeout. The food was ready for pickup within fourteen minutes. I ordered the Bistec (steak with French Fries) $7.95 which was good. The meat was fresh as well as the veggies and served with sour cream sauce. The meat was not hard and not too chewy but a good consistency. The fries were not burnt nor overcooked. Price for wraps are reasonable. Upon pickup the staff were attentive and able to converse in English. Seating is very minimal and this business is located in a basement thus watch out for steps leading downwards. read more

Really tiny, blink and you miss it Mexican spot. It's downstairs, not creepily downstairs, but it's like 3 stairs nonetheless. There are 2 tables, but this is a take out joint. I worked a double and honestly could eat a horse, so I ordered a couple of tacos and a quesadilla. The tacos I got were of the pollo (chicken) variety. They were tasty, stuffed pretty full and the chicken was nicely grilled. The veggies were fresh, all was good. The quesadilla was really good. Got steak, you cannot go wrong with that. I was a damn good quesadilla. It wasn't greasy, the steak was flavorful and the cheese had a nice bite. No sour cream though, but they did sprinkle some cheese and sauce on top, which gave it a bit more......yum. It also came with rice & beans. The rice was a bit dry, but the black beans were tasty. The chicken tacos are always great from this place. It is our local go-to Mexican spot. They are very generous with the servings. The chilaquiles are good as well. The guacamole and chips is tasty! I will say that Taqueria Sinaloense is OK if you are starving and really in a mood for a taco; however, I found the tacos to be pretty bland. I ordered three different tacos, and there was not anything amazing. Wait, I lie. One of the tacos had pineapple as a topping. However, I was not expecting to be blown away, but I was expecting some that would excite my taste buds. The restaurant really is not worth going out of your way for tacos. Five stars just for the carnitas burrito! Mmmm, fatty pork goodness. It was so good I ordered it 3 times in one week. It's so hard to find a good burrito here in nyc but I've finally found one! Tacos here were merely ok and the horchata tasted very artificial--kind of like a fall scented candle. I wouldn't recommend getting either of those. I live around the corner and I have to say, I was really excited about this a Mexican restaurant opening up. I love Mexican food and this place is a default for me and my family. It's best to call in advance to put your order so it's ready asap. The wait can be long. It's two hard-working guys running, but they can only work so fast. There are about 5 and a half chairs here (I'll have to check), but if it's empty, you can relax and watch some tv. I like to order the vegetarian burrito which is always delicious. Sometimes they forget to put beans in it, but maybe that's their style? I also love getting their mole tamales. For $2, you can't beat that deliciousness for cheap. They go quickly though. Tamales are also sold 10 minutes walk away at Mi Lindo San Miguelito on W231st, like one with just cheese, but it's a bit more expensive. For those hoping to reduce waste: you can let them know that you don't want any napkins or plastic forks, etc. I'm sure if I asked, they would also use a to-go container that I would bring (even though other places are hesitant due to FDA regulations), at least for the sauces... and their sauces are delicious. I'd like to try that. They are open to putting the food in a bag I brought too. read more

Taqueria Sinaloense is absolutely fantastic, and has a top notch and impressive selection of foods from the Sinaloa region of Mexico. While their physical location is a bit small, for anyone living in Grubhub ordering range of this gem of a place or close enough to pick up an order to go, it should be first on your ordering out list. Their salsas are truly flavorful and very spicy, as is their guacamole and pico de gallo. Tamales, tortas, huaraches, tacos, quesadillas, and sopes are all off the chain, and their ingredients are fresh and wonderfully prepared. I could not recommend a place more! read more
