Ok. Normally in Yelp reviews I take a bunch of pictures, write a ton about the service and the ambiance, etc. Taco Riendo doesn't need all that. Because it's 100% legit. It's my favorite taco spot in Central Florida. It's deliciously simple and unbeatable. All the tacos are outstanding and the real deal. You can get cabeza and lengua, if you know what you're doing. But the asada, pollo and al pastor are amazing, just in case you don't wanna venture too far. And once you get your tacos, or sopa, or however you prefer comida Mexicana, there's a self-serve cold bar of grilled onions, cilantro, radishes, limes, raw onions and several bad ass salsas for you to adorn your food with. We pulled up on a Wednesday thinking they were closed so don't let appearances fool you and check the hours; after eating here, we were confused as to why they weren't busy! We were greeted when we walked in and service is at the cash register so this is more of a quick service style restaurant. The restaurant itself has plenty of seating despite being in a small space, and is very cheerfully decorated. We ordered some flautas, steak and pork tacos, and chips and queso. There is a topping bar for your tacos with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and hot sauces. The chips and queso were delicious, and the flautas were also fantastic! I didn't like the refried beans as much as my husband did--they were on the thinner side and to me the taste wasn't what I wanted it to be, but the rice was good. The flavor of the steak taco was great but the cubes of meat were too big in my opinion. The real star of this show was the tacos al pastor! Super tender and delicious!!! If Yelp had a half star system, I would definitely have given a 4.5 but since they don't it feels necessary to round up to a 5, because overall this place is a winner! OUR FAVORITE LEGIT TACO SHOP! We have been going here for over eight years! The food is authentic, you walk in knowing you are going to get great food. I LOVE the rolled tacos and my husband loved anything carnitas and my kids usually do a boring quesadilla but even that is great. They have a small self serve area with fresh and grilled onion, cilantro, peppers, sauces, etc. It's owned by such a nice woman who I adore and her kids work there as well, I love a family run restaurant! They have fun drinks, popsicles, the whole thing. They open super early for some amazing breakfast options and stay option late. If you're going to support a small biz, this is a great place to start, the owners are truly genuine and appreciative of their costumers and take pride in their food. 10/10 !!!! read more

I always hold hope to love Mexican restaurants that are independently owned and run. I read the reviews carefully and held hope that the recent reviews were being unfair. I had the horchata. It tasted watered down. Not my favorite experience. I also had 2 steak tacos. As another reviewer wrote they are absent of flavor. Very sad. I also had 2 chorizo tacos. Slightly more flavor but nothing to cause me to return. Sorry to say this gets my FVLV flag... that's first visit is my last visit. read more

Its your typical hole in the wall taco place. We ordered 3 tacos; one chicken and two carne asada. We also got a side of rice and beans with carne asada burrito. The carne asada was very dry and chewy and the chicken was also dry. It was lacking flavor and it did not hit my taco spot. We were able to get our own veggie toppings and sauce to top our tacos. Taco Riendo is a hole in the wall taqueria on Orange Blossom Trail in Apopka, Florida. It is the kind of place you could easily dismiss and drive by, but if you were to do that, you would be missing out on some fine tacos. I ordered three tacos, the asada, the cabeza, and the chicharon. While they were small, they were also only $1.50 each. This also allowed me to try two more tacos, a pastor and a chorizo. Out of the five I tried I would have to say the cabeza and the chorizo were my favorites. They had a little area with onions, cilantro, sour cream, grilled onions, and several kinds of salsas. I found the salsa to be good, though none stood out as spicy. This is a good spot to grab a quick meal. I recommend here and will be back. read more

I got Carme Asada burrito and it tasted old , some of the pieces were black . I asked the lady and she admitted that they did cook it before . Just decided to stop in after work and was glad I did, I ate 3 sopas (chicken) and it was very enjoyable. Then I got the harritos drink then, decorated the sopas with lettuce, tomato, onions, cilantro and the other topping that were available and open for anyone's convenience. Finally found some legit Mexican tacos! Apparently this place has been here for a while, and I can't believe I've been driving by this place for years! Little did i know that within this kind of beat up strip mall, I would be transported back to Mexico and eating delicious street stand-style carne asada mini-tacos. These tacos are not your taco hell/ fast food chain variety. These are in-house-made corn tortilla, tiny two bite taco tasty treats. Alliteration much? :) If you've ever had taco truck tacos with cilantro and onions, then you'll LOVE these. They come in different meats: Carne asada- grilled beef Pastor- pork pollo asada- grilled chicken lengua- beef tongue chicharon- crispy pork fat/belly tripa- beef tripe They have others that I can't remember. I ordered pretty much one of each except for the tripe and they are all delicious. My favorite being the classic carne asada. I just top those babies with cilantro, onions, salsa, and a little crema (kind of like sour cream) from the salsa bar and I'm good to go. 6-8 tacos are probably just enough for dinner, but i find myself wanting to order more because they are so good. Which isn't bad because they are like $1.50 each. They also serve sopes, quesodillas, ceviche, soups, etc. The pineapple and horchata drink is also delicious and if you really want a treat, they have Mexican coke... or at least the ones in the bottle. The staff is sweet despite their lack of English. I ordered everything in English and didn't have a problem. Their kids hang out there after school, I guess. I did not liked this place. The service is poor and the location is not up to date. Bathroom is outside the small structure. The tables only have salt and spicy sauce. There is a TV on with a very high volume. The tostada I ordered was small and cold, but the flavor was not bad. The combo portions are big and the burrito as well. But the horchata tasted like the one that comes out of the supermarket package, therefore, it was not fresh. The prices are too high for the food, service and place. NOT worth it!!! This is not a truck like it's classified here. It's a small structure with couple of tables. I would only recommend it to order food for take out. read more

What a gem! This hole in the wall taqueria is authenticity meets Mom's cooking. You will get hugely satisfied if you are craving those street tacos found in Mexico's streets. They have a nice small well stocked salsa/trimmings bar, with roasted onions too boot! For those of you who love to use cilantro as salad-- like my awesome wife-- you can go nuts here. I ordered the carne azada and pastor. It was oh so delicious. We will definitely be returning here when our craving for street tacos hit. The prices are ridiculously inexpensive. Ever since that first visit I've been back a couple of times. The restaurant itself looks like it's a little old and a little sketch, but hey that's part of the adventure. Don't worry, for those of you who don't speak spanish, there usually is family member that is there to help you out and make sure your order is just what you wanted ;) Let's get down to the nitty gritty, the food here is bomb. Inexpensive prices, fresh ingredients, and food comes out pretty fast. I can tell it's freshly made just by seeing the women in the back hand make everything. I absoutely LOVE the Carne Asada tacos, perfectly seasoned, and there's a topping bar to add whatever you'd like. Do yourself a favor and order more than 2, trust me :) Don't forget to add those Christmas sauces, but make sure you ask which one's are spicy or not! They have other things in the menu other than Tacos, some of their specials are written on the board, and their menu literally consists of three print out pages. Was waiting for a window tint next door. Walked in here for breakfast. I asked for something that was not on the menu, Chilaquiles, and the ladies said they can whip some up. The tacos are really inexpensive $1.50 They make the tortillas hand made, you can see the kitchen and the lady in the back making everything from scratch. $1.50 for tacos with hand made tortillas that's a deal can't beat that. We also got menudo which is a soup made with cow stomach and I'm always scared it's going to smell and it didn't smell bad it smelled good. It also came with three hand made tortillas nice and fresh. These tacos are little, but full of flavor! I ate 5: 2 "Lengua" (Tongue), 3 "Tripa"( Fried Beef tripe)= Result: Satisfied! I also ordered 1 Jamaica (Hibiscus Flower Juice) as a beverage. If you dare to try something different, try it here, because this is the only Mexican Restaurant where they actually fried the Beef Tripe after boiling, which is the right way to prepare this dish! Then, top with any of the salsas and you won't be disappointed! It is crunchy!!! The salsa I used in excess on the picture is the mildest but still delish! My wife, from Bakersfield, California, is always in search of an authentic Mexican Taqueria in Central Florida. We have been to many restaurants and Mercado, but I think our search is finally over. This is as close as we have found to a California Taqueria, and while still not perfect, they have excellent food, friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere. Many of the places we have been to in the area generally only speak Spanish, but here I can tell they are trying to reach out to the English speaking clientele, which makes me feel very welcome and cared about. So between this and the several other Mexican restaurants I have found in the area, we are able to get our fix whether it's hole in the wall, Mercado or fancy dining. read more

How do you know a Mexican place is going to be good? 1. When your in Apopka, the place is packed, and your the only gringo there 2. When everything is in Spanish So it was with Taqueria Taco Reindo. The restaurant looks awful from the outside, and isn't much better inside. The whole building has a lean to it that makes you wonder how it passed fire code inspection. I would never had ventured in if it hadn't got such glowing Yelp reviews. When I called to ask how late they were open the person answering handed the phone to someone who could speak English. Another good sign... When we arrived we were greeted by a quiet, but nice young guy who then handed us menus. He also gave us samples of their flavored water- the milky Horchata (made with almonds and rice), red Tamarindo, and yellow Jamaica (pineapple). Our favorite of which was the Tamarindo. The menu is not extensive but has the fundamentals. Quesadillas, burritos, flautas, tacos. I ordered a cheese quesadilla for my son but it came with shredded pork that he deemed "spicy" (it wasn't). We had to order another that was "cheese only". He devoured this one. My husband and I shared the flautas, tacos and burritos. I really enjoyed my pork burritos supreme ($6.99) which came with a side of refried beans, rice and pico de gallo. The meat was moist and well seasoned. My husband's taco trio ($1.25 each) were good but small. The flautas supreme ($6.99) had a good flavor but were a little dry. I liked the topping bar- there you can chose from, among other things, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, grilled onions, and four types of salsa. Even the mildest of the four was a little spicy for me, but I'm a wimp. My husband, who loves hot sauce really enjoyed them. Food is cooked to order so you sit and when the food is ready it is brought to you. You then have to go back up to the toppings bar, which is a little awkward. Pay at the counter after you eat. They, unfortunately, do not serve beer (or margaritas!) which is too bad. It would've gone great with the food! I left Taco Reindo absolutely stuffed. read more

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Orlando, this place gets almost as real as the real deal in Mexico with the food been deliciously good and a lot like what you find in restaurants in Mexico and in street stands in Mexico city. The price are good for what you get and tacos are not expensive but you do have to eat a lot of them in order to get full unless you have very little appetite. The location i was going to in Altamonte before right almost at Apopka closed due to leasing issues so i found out they had a second location, who knew. Well i think this location in Apopka is as good and it is a bit larger inside then the one in Altamonte and can sit more people unlike the other location in Altamonte , witch was small and sometimes it was to busy to find a table or there was no parking spot. This location has as good of service and the food is fresh and good, you can also get aguas (waters) de orchata. I recommend this place to anyone that likes Mexican food and is looking for a cheap and good Mexican place to eat, i suggest do not arrive very hungry because they can be packed and very busy at times so you might have to wait a bit to get food and there is no appetizers. They are open every day except for Mondays and open till 9 O' clock at night. read more

No muss, no fuss. Just good tacos! I'm sure the other food they have is really good, but all I can speak of are their tacos. The restaurant its self may look a lot run down and maybe unsafe, but that's how you know you'll get some good food. Every time I go, I'll order myself 6 asada tacos and either horchata or a pina drink. 6 tacos may sound like a lot, but let me tell you they are small but full of flavor! Once you get your food you can add all the toppings you want from their toppings bar. I personally am fine with just cilantro, onions, lime juice and crema. But their toppings bar has more than just that there for you to choose from. If you are looking for tacobell-esk food you're looking in the wrong place. If you're looking for some good authentic Mexican tacos, you've come to the right place! This hole-in-the-wall, Mom and Pop restaurant is a fantastic find in Apopka... authentic Mexican fare, easy on the wallet, and genuine hospitality, too. Wonderful! I 'ditto' everyone else's comments and recommendations. There are a number of tasty dishes to try, but if your Spanish is rusty, be ready to point at the picture menu ... truly authentic - from mom in the kitchen to dad or daughter taking orders. I went out of the way to be nice and personable and got blank stare. No language barrier either, spoke perfect English but just didn't give a crap. Wow. The food here is delicious. The taco shells are made on site and everything we ordered was fantastic. We got a pork quesadilla supreme and the chicken burrito supreme. We will definitely be back next time we are in Apopka. read more
