Do you ever crave authentic Mexican flavored food????? Well then I have just the place not to go to. This place was absolutely garbage, food had no flavor and I had to ask for hot sauce. But when I asked for hot sauce I got green shit, so then I had to clarify that I wanted red hot sauce and guess what? THEY DIDN'T HAVE IT! So just to reiterate, this place is perfect for people that have lost hope in life, and would rather kill somebody else than themselves. P.S. I ordered the sizzling fajitas that comes with a bean dip and I received the shit that the cooks shitted after they ate beans. I went in this morning to get a quick torta to go. The cashier was talking to a comadre about all kinds of things, none of them having to do with taking an order or having the comadre pay. I stood there and was not acknowledged, so I told one of the comadres "excuse me" and grabbed the menu that she had her elbow on. She looked at me and seemed bothered that I interrupted the conversation. I looked through the menu to decide on the torta I wanted and finally decided. I stood there as they continued their conversation, not once acknowledging me. The phone rang and the cashier answered it and it was a customer and the cashier seemed bothered that the conversation was interrupted by the phone call. After 5 minutes of wasting my time, which I can't get back, I left, hungry and frustrated. If there was negative stars I would happily give them. Horrible guest experience. read more

Excellent Tex-Mex at good prices. When I moved to College Station, a friend and I embarked on a search for the best place to get Mexican; she'd always order cheese enchiladas and when we'd leave, I'd hear nothing about how they didn't compare to her mom's. Well, when we ducked into Taqueria Arandas, she seemed a bit shellshocked so I asked what she thought of the place. She leaned in and whispered, "They're better than my mom's." I've hopped around the menu and found I liked everything I order. Once in dozens of times I came here and they made everyone's food bad, but otherwise they've been consistent. The service is fine, but come for the food, not the service and definitely not the ambiance. read more

I'm so mad at Arandas. It used to be our "go-to" breakfast place because the food's good, large portions, cheap prices...but the last two times we went, the service and the food just got worse and worse. We went on a typical Sunday morning, the last time, and it was super-obvious that there wasn't a manager on-site. The floors were dirty, the servers could barely be bothered to service us or any of the other patrons, and the food was just crap...bland, lukewarm crap. I will say this much: Being mad at Arandas helped us find Coco Loco and La Familia. Which are ever so much better. p.s.: An very kindly-worded email to Taquerias Arandas did nothing at all. I've dined here once, and gone in on take-out a couple times. This place is packed at lunch & dinner peak hours, and has a very small parking lot, and some of their customers you wouldn't want to scowl at, much less compete with or argue over a parking spot. The restaurant itself is fairly small, so you may be jostled a bit at your table, by other customers being seated or leaving. And if you're with a group of more than four, forget it. The tables are too small for four, and although I never asked, I haven't observe any customers moving tables together for a group. The last time I had their Quesadillas, I was disappointed. They weren't ready when I came to pick up the carry-out order, so I know they were fresh. The tortillas were quite greasy, soggy, and the usually juicy beef was tough & dry, like it was on a steam table too long, or was reheated. To be fair, I have always had good service there, and they always give me plenty of sauce, and never charge for extra sauce cups to-go. read more

This place was absolutely terrible and I can't believe we spent money here. It's a hole in the wall type place that just isn't good. We should have left as soon as we walked in. The whole place is old and outdated and we probably should have been concerned for sanitary reasons. The salsa was bland and watery. All of the other food we had lacked any flavor, was poor quality, and was overall unappetizing. We all left most of our food on the table. First time I've seen my husband leave behind most of a burrito lol. Never going back. read more

Finally a Mexican restaurant with great tasting food. Been staying in the Bryan/College Station area for 6 months and I've been to about 7 "Mexican" restaurants and have always been incredibly disappointed with the food. I was scared to try any Mexican restaurants at this point. Arandas has delicious and authentic Mexican food at a great price. If you live in the area and have not tried this place yet, you need to try it. I also experienced the best service I have experienced in any restaurant here, the waitress was exceptional and on point with her service. She was super nice, fast and attentive. In search of the best enchiladas in BCS tried here on a whim. The food was good, the enchiladas were different than all the other enchiladas in town, they used the "milk cheese"... Not sure what to call it but it was very good. Refreshing change from the usual want to be enchiladas we have been getting. The tacos looked awesome too. read more

I don't know how the bill came out to 40.00$ we ordered the calambres, burrito, queso, and one horchata. The waitres was friendly , the calambres were very tough and didn't taste good at all. We ordered 3 alambres and they came out on skewers. At first we didn't say anything until we tried them. They were all very hard so none of us ate our food. The manager came over and said we could exchange them for something else so we ordered different plates and they took our food away. we asked for the plates to go and they manager said she could not put them to go. We would have to eat the plates here in the restaurant. In the end we did not want to eat our food here because we were full because of sharing food from others at the table. So they CHARGED us for all the food and had TAKEN it away and never replaced it because we wanted it to go. The micheladas are beer with salsa. And also the menu has dessert but they don't actually have dessert!!! I gave it one star because of no option to put no stars. read more

Taqueria Arandas is a family owned chain of Mexican restaurants that is growing quickly across Texas. I have been a fan for 15 years and used to visit their restaurant on Burnet in Austin almost every weekend for some great breakfast tacos. Their specialty is grilled meats and I highly recommend their Arandas' Special (#1 on the menu). Grilled beef served with rice, cactus and beans. I recently tried the Alambres (#3 on menu) in Bryan. It was excellent - grilled beef kabobs with peppers, bacon and onion served with guacamole, rice and beans. This is a very casual family oriented restaurant and so don't expect anything fancy. The key attraction is the food - simple, cheap and fresh. read more

Two eggs (w/ runny yolk) in a sea of a tart, tomato based ranchero sauce. It also comes w/ 2 strips of bacon (crispy but tasted a bit dry), breakfast potatoes (decent seasoning w/ slight sweetness but not crispy=I'll pass), refried beans (fresh & smooth texture) & 3 warm tortillas. Egg & ham tacos ($1.49 before tax): They require you to buy 2 of a taco at a time. Nevertheless, it was a good taco, w/ tender, juicy ham. You have the option of a semi-chunky, semi-spicy red sauce or a much spicier green sauce to add additional flavor. OVERALL: Decent food for a franchise Mexican restaurant. Based on the other reviews, I'm hesitant to try their lunch/dinner, but their breakfast was very reasonable in price. This place is ok. Customer service is nice. Just don't order anything with meat. I recommend the breakfasts, like the machacado, chilaquiles, huevos ranchersos, scrambled eggs, etc. All those were perfect. But don't even try to order anything with beef or chicken like the enchiladas or gorditas. I ordered beef gorditas once and the chicken enchiladas once. It was disgusting and I didn't return the food but I couldn't eat it either. They are the cheapest restaurant in the whole College Station area when it comes to buying and cooking their meat. The beef seemed the worst cut from the cow, and at least half of the volume of the beef was these little fat balls that you can't eat or the muscle coverings, which you can't chew. And the chicken enchildas, all the meat seemed to be chicken legs with the skin, the veins, arteries and tendons of the piece mixed together. You just had to look at it to know that it was mostly skin and scraps. I have returned despite this fact but I don't order anything that is supposed to have meat. I have been to two Houston locations and the meat wasn't the best either but it was not this bad. Still, the worst thing is that they have a jukebox and people can pay for playing loud tacky music and they DO IT! I don't like to have this type of music forced down my throat so I try to go during the weekdays, at times when they are not too full, mostly late breakfast. read more
