Inexpensive Tex-Mex diner with great breakfast plates. They have the best tortilla chips too... really crunchy, not overly salty, and they don't crumble when you dip them. I got the "commercial breakfast" of bacon, eggs, refried beans, potatoes & tortillas. My friend got huevos divorciados with sliced steak. We shared queso. They brought really runny red salsa which neither of us liked, but the bottle of jalapeño sauce they brought for the table was excellent. They had the soccer games on TV and our waitress was so nice. The TVs were a little loud, but it was World Cup matches, so that may have been why they turned up the volume so much. There is parking on both sides of the restaurant. Best breakfast tacos in houston. Yes there are a lot of places that serve breakfast tacos in houston and they all have their unique characteristics. As for the service I think of a time when I stopped by to pick up a to go order after the gym. I think I had overdone the sauna and while I was waiting they (without me asking) brought me a cup of water - probably looked like I was going to pass out and a few other times they have opened the door for me. Which you might expect at other higher end establishments - the staff is friendly and engaging. It would be a great place for a group or couple of people - they have some tv's so you could catch a local sporting event there. If you are lookign for some amazing breakfast tacos - give them a try. I have a favorite. I periodically stop in and do takeout, have dined in a few times in the past. The staff is mostly friendly and helpful. Fajitas marinadas with double rice and flour tortillas - so the fajitas are always seasoned nicely but the portion size and thickness of the meat varies , rice is average Chicken quesadillas - consistently good Green salsa - I would buy this in buckets; haven't found it better anywhere else This is nostalgia and will always be a spot I turn too. Let me start off my saying that these chains are honestly hit or miss... but this one was definitely a HIT! Came here for a quick lunch break since I work close by. Service was great and sooo fast. Also food was fresh and delicious! I ordered the Tacos al Carbon (chicken). Everything was great, especially the beans!!! Also came with queso which I used to dip some of the complementary chips in. I have been to other locations, (Humble, 59/Aldine Mail Route, 290/Beltway 8) and I thought this location did not match the quality of the other locations. It was Okay, but the vibe was different and the food just wasn't what I remembered from particularly the location on 59 north. Maybe the chefs were just not enthusiastic this day. I will give them another shot and see. The next time I go to another location I'll review that one. I will say the Margaritas were great as usual. read more

Example: Asked waiter to make sure I received a proper serving of meat vs. beans and veggies quantity in my Torta. Again, as all the previous times before , I received a teaspoon of meat, 2 slabs of beans,2 slices of avocado, and 2 or 3 sliced tomatoes and a dash of lettuce. They charged me 21.00 for torta+Jamaica water and a flan . I've gotten a better quantity of food products at Torchys tacos. Do not visit this Arandas or any of them for that matter. I love Taqueria Arandas. I've been to many locations but this one was a bit off. Me and my coworkers came here for lunch and for some reason everybody was getting served quickly except us. Some tables got their food already when we came in first. They haven't even taken our orders. We would try to get their attention but nobody was looking our way. When they finally did some of our orders came pretty late too. There wasn't much people but we still felt neglected. Our food was great as to be expected. It was just the service was bad. read more

What a find! I have seen these for years and never stopped in... a mistake! If you want authentic Aransas is the place! The music, the waitress , the food, even the menu - all authentic. When the first part is in Spanish and the the second is English , well, you know you are in the right spot. Stan had camerones ensalada( shrimp salad) awesome, with fresh slices of cucumber, avocado and oranges, not the mayonnaise kind of salad. I had a combo plate with fajita skewers. One of the best Arandas locations in town! Fairly authentic Mexican food but they can Americaniza it a bit for you if that's more of your style. The salsa comes out fresh and streaming hot and there seems to be a small crowd even outside business hours. I stopped by here with a couple of friends for lunch today. The service was reasonably quick, but nothing spectacular. The food came out hot and fresh. They serve a large torta for the price, and their flautas are massive too. I came here for brunch because my friend was craving some real Tex-Mex food. Their menu says that breakfast ends at 11a, but they actually serve it all day, which was a plus because I was set on having breakfast. The dining area is nothing fancy. They have a juke box that was turned up way too loud. It was hard to have a conversation with my friend across the table. The staff is friendly and attentive. I ordered an omelette (ham, pico, cheese) with refried beans. It came with tortillas, but I ended up giving them to my friend. They looked homemade. I also ordered a coffee. When the food was brought out, it looked really nice. Unfortunately the cheese and the ham tasted like imitation cheese and meat. I ended up scraping a lot out of it. The eggs, pico, and refried beans were really good though so it didn't completely ruin the meal. The coffee was blah. The Dunkin donuts coffee that I brew at home tastes much better.
