Fried avocado was my favorite
Alexandra L.

The Quick: Insanely good tacos with a relaxed vibe, very friendly service (thanks Kristina!) and Plenty of options for everyone. The Details: I was in a rush but wanted a tasty meal (not fast food) and boy did this spot deliver. With three different vegetarian easily made vegan tacos, our group was thrilled. Get the fried avocado, you won't be disappointed! Very accommodating. Really loved the mushroom, avocado, plantain, And salmon tacos all 10/10. The damage: ~ $5/taco with a great haopt hour 330-530

Absolutely love this little gas station converted into a taco shop. Great chips and salsa. Refreshing drinks and numerous tacos to choose from. Along with the kids meal selection that won't break the bank. Tons of shady spot out side to sit at on sunny days. The servers are great and food comes out quick.

I was super excited to try this place out. The layout is fun and it looks like a great chill spot with games and stuff outside. A decent size inside seating area and a cute outdoor area as well. You order through your phone, there are no menus. If you do not order table or ice water you will not get any. You can not go here without a phone. You can order watever through the app and they bring it to you but there is no one to check up and ask you how you are doing or if you want anything else or get your dishes when you are done until you leave. One very small taco is $6 minimum while chips and salsa are $10 the chips cheese salsa and guac is $14. The guac was the best part but brown at the bottom & the cheese was watery. I was honestly very disappointed.

Taquerio is one of my favorite lunch/dinner spots in Mystic, my friends and I love coming here when we are in the area. One of our favorite things about this place is the extremely unique environment - indoor and outdoor seating in a beautifully renovated gas station. If you're looking for a relatively quick outdoor spot for a meal, this is a great choice. The tacos are absolutely delicious (so fresh, flavorful, and filling), just note the price of $6-7 per taco. Service has always been great in my experience as well. Cannot recommend enough, absolutely delicious tacos! Pricey, but I would say well worth it.

Wow! So this place was recommended by someone we met at the base in Groton and he wasn't wrong to recommend this place! When the meat for the nachos was brought out on the side, my husband and I were kind of scared of trying the nachos because I have never seen the meat for the nachos be brought separately (I'm from LA and grew up eating all kids of Mexican food) but we were shocked that the barbacoa was yummy! I also loved the salsa verde and al pastor tacos, just had to ask for a lime ‍ as I am used to having limes with all of my tacos. My husband liked the carnitas and fried cod but I wasn't a huge fan. I also ordered a frozen coquito drink which I have only had when I'm with my Puerto Rican friends. Honestly, this food was really good and I can't wait to bring my kids here! If you get Mackenzie as your waitress/bartender ask her for recommendations bc she's amazing and honest! Right now it's decorated with Christmas theme and it's fun for the whole family very chill vibes and you need to come here!

each taco had exquisite flavors- my fiancée and i each had 3-4 tacos which was perfect! we went during lunch, were sat down promptly with efficient service. love that this place is an old gas station, such a cool concept and cute layout! my ratings are listed below: 1. fried cod !! so yummy and crispy, my fave 2. chicken bacon ranch - flavor explosion 3. fried avocado - sauce was sooo good! 4. the gringo - loved the differentiation of the crunchy shell 5. buffalo chicken taco (my fiancée's fave but i'm not as big on the buffalo flavors!)

We have had a ton of great meals here. But we couldn't imagine how cozy and fun and christmassy this place could get now that it's been "transformed by elves" into Santa's Sleigh Station! The staff were dressed up in adorable costumes and the drinks, food, and decor SCREAM holidays. Super fun for the whole family. I recommend the navidad nachos and the white Christmas margarita.

I normally wouldn't recommend gas station tacos, but I'll make an exception since this is a covered gas station/ garage. Super casual, a great set up for a group, drinks or bringing kids. The tacos though. They are mostly fantastic. Oysters were the best. Mushrooms were delish. The Carnitas ... Just okay at best as were the fish. I heard the Ceviche was great (comes on lettuce instead of a tortilla FYI). The kids meals were huge. The tacos were two stuffed crunchy shells. Really tasty (I got a bite) with a side of house made tortillas and a cheese sauce. My daughter got the chicken quesadilla, and to its credit I didn't even get a bite. If you're deciding between 2 or 3 tacos, go with 2, and then order the third after. They are ready in minutes. Over all charming spot with friendly staff and reasonable prices.

Wow, Taquerio is one cool taco spot! We were over in Mystic and my sister was craaving tacos. Taquerio popped up in our search. Once a gas station and car garage, this place has so much character. I love how it was renovated without hiding that fact, using it to their advantage with a wicked cool outdoor patio, bar area, and mechanic shop decor. It reminded me of Cars Land at Disney's California Adventure. Our server was fantastic and the food came out quick. The menu was simple... Tacos! There were also nachos with queso or guacamole, and desserts. Each taco was $4-$6 each from beef to chicken to vegetarian. We each got 3 different tacos and they were stuffed! We got Barbacoa, Carnitas, Pollo Verde, Buffalo Chicken, Chicken Bacon Ranch, Fried Plantain, Mojo Wild Mushroom and Shrimp Ceviche. The Shrimp Ceviche taco was fun since it was in a lettuce wrap. Everything was fresh, flavorful and was filling. We had no room for dessert. One little thing we were confused on was the parking. Since it was in a downtown area, there were parking areas reserved for other shops and businesses. There was a fenced-in parking lot directly behind Taquerio, but it wasn't marked. Luckily, we found off-street parking that wasn't too far of a walk. I would love to visit Taquerio during the warmer months to enjoy the outdoor seating. There were some corn hole games set up too. I can only imagine having a good time. Great food and great vibes.

Taquerio is a solid, casual location for a quick and easy meal. Built in an old gas station, it has a large menu with a wide variety of tacos. It's family friendly and occasionally features a trivia night. It doesn't beat some of my favorite west coast taquerias, but is definitely one of my go-to locations if I don't want to cook and want something tasty for dinner.

Parking is available on the side and back. Parking is limited compared to the size of the restaurant. Reservations aren't taken, so it is first come, first serve. If you're in the area, I would highly recommend stopping in. The staff is friendly and kind. You can order from the wait staff or through your phone. I've found that service is much faster when ordering through your phone. You're able to customize, pick, and choose various options as well as input any special instructions. We came on a Wednesday night, which is BINGO night. It's a bit loud if you have little ones with you. Super fun! Portions were a bit small compared to the pricing, but the food was delicious. I love that they have virgin options for their beverages. I wish that their churros were larger. They were small and hard.

The restaurant looks like a gas station turned restaurant, it's a fun design/layout. There's a large outside seating area. As we were walking up to the front doors from the parking lot the back doors were open and an employee was outside chatting with another employee and tossing multiple tortillas back in forth in their hands. I wanted to leave when I saw but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and hoped those tortillas aren't the same ones my tacos came on.. As for the tacos themselves way overpriced averaging $5/$6 each. They were flavorful but not worth that price tag. The coconut margarita was personally too sweet for me but flavor was there. Chips and salsa were good. The food came out in parts and not everyone at our table got their food at the same time but since we were sharing things it didn't really bother us.

Seated promptly and our server took our drink orders. They had plenty of St. Patrick's Day specials to choose from which included Shepard pie, corned beef sandwiches and various other dishes. We ordered pancakes, blue cheese bacon burger with fries. Very short wait before our meals showed up. Three large pancakes with plenty of butter and a nice bottle of syrup that was on the table. The burger was cooked medium as requested and was large on a nice soft bun with loads of blue cheese and bacon. Lettuce and tomato were on the side which was good because the burger was so big before adding them that you wouldn't be able to get a bite of it. Season of the meat was excellent and this was probably one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. A small container of coleslaw was on the side. Fries were very crispy and stayed that way through the meal. Service was excellent and the seating was very comfortable. Will definitely have return trips there for lunch if we're in the area.

Don't let the sign fool you, this place is much bigger than it looks on the outside…read more We ordered chips and chunky guacamole - this was delicious. Their fresh chips were cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. Mexican pizza with chorizo and jalapeños - it was good but I couldn't get my brother to try it. His wife didn't care much for it. This was a better choice than the carne asada tacos I ordered for the meal and was substantially more food. Carne asada tacos - I really wished these were better, but the asada was lacking much needed flavor. On top of it being disappointingly bland, it was also extremely dry with the 2 tortillas per taco. My brother had some delicious sauce with his burrito that spruced up the dryness and flavor. I would not recommend this. The margaritas - my bro had the mango margarita - it was very sweet. His wife and I both had a taramind marg and it was pretty good. She also tried the cinnamon marg but it was way too sweet - as I anticipated - and we left it mostly untouched. The cool thing about their margs is that they serve it in individualized shakers to fill up the glass when it gets low.

It wasn't too crowded when we arrived and we were seated fairly quickly. The menus on the table are paper and specials are on the board. My husband and I both decided to try fajitas which were on the Tex-Mex menu. I ordered the steak fajitas and he ordered the chicken fajitas. These were some of the best fajitas I have had in my life! I don't know what they use for marinade, but I would love to have bottles of it in my cupboard! The green sauce they give you with the fajitas is amazing! The black beans are some of the best black beans I have had out anywhere! If I had any complaints it would be that you need just one more tortilla. Three is just one short of enough. I really wish this place was close to home, but it's probably good that it's not. The next time I come I definitely want to try some of the real Mexican dishes on the menu. We were told that we cook was from Mexico City, so we were not surprised that the food was so good. I definitely would recommend trying this place out as soon as you can! Great food here. The drinks looked really good to. We ordered the chips and salsa also. The chips were a little on the thick side but definitely fresh and still hot and the salsa was good too. For dessert we shared some flan. It was a little under done in the center but it was still very good. Can't wait to come back!

Perfect spot to bring your family if you want more than just a sit down place to eat. I'd come mainly for the vibes and less on the food. We ordered a lot for our party of 6 (+1 toddler), so dishes were bound to be a hit or miss. Our server was very patient with us as we decided on our order. Big fan of the seafood dishes here, so I'd recommend the FISH & CHIPS, ROASTED COD and CALAMARI. Could've done without the DOGWATCH PASTA and BURNT ENDS, which I found a bit bland and dry respectively. The MAC ATTACK, on the other hand, was a terrific pasta option and I personally was a big fan of it. If you're looking for more protein dense options, I'd recommend the RIBS and LOADED NACHOS. This was probs the most loaded I've ever seen an order of nachos. They also have a pretty extensive kids menu, making this spot very ideal for kids and families. We ended up bringing the leftovers back, because portion sizes were huge.

Taste wise was good, the sauce definitely made a big difference as we thought it was a bit dry but great overall. I picked Kale salad and was super happy with my choice. The kale was chopped which I loved, it had Golden Raisins, Macadamia Nuts, lots of Shaved Pecorino Romano cheese and the best thing, the Cranberry Citrus Vinaigrette (yum). And last, Dogwatch Seared Tuna. Holy cow was it great. The quality of the tuna as always perfection. Tasted better than any we've ever had and panko crust was a perfect added bonus.
