Big fan of the seafood dishes here, so I'd recommend the FISH & CHIPS, ROASTED COD and CALAMARI. Could've done without the DOGWATCH PASTA and BURNT ENDS, which I found a bit bland and dry respectively. The MAC ATTACK, on the other hand, was a terrific pasta option and I personally was a big fan of it. If you're looking for more protein dense options, I'd recommend the RIBS and LOADED NACHOS. This was probs the most loaded I've ever seen an order of nachos at any restaurant. They also have a pretty extensive kids menu, making this spot very ideal for kids and families. So I went here with the family to have dinner. My order was simple, collard greens and wings. Before placing the order. I asked the server if any kind of meat was in the greens and she said no. So I am eating and something was off. I called the server and showed her the meat and asked what it was, she comes back and says bacon. I don't eat pork, and ended up sick like a dog. Don't come here for the lobster rolls because they're not that great. It's more of a barbecue place. The bun that came with my lobster roll was stale on the bottom. The onion rings were greasy and the french fries were terrible. The stuffy's. (Stuffed clams) we're not good. I asked for a coconut margarita and they gave me a lime margarita when I complained they took my drink back and added too much coconut. That being said they do give you a lot of Lobster meat. Once again another birthday. The person celebrating his birthday had only been here once before with me. And he agreed that food quality, choice, portions and prices are beyond great. I have to say I love how easy we can reserve tables online. The staff always works with you to accommodate your seating preferences and are always pleasant. We get the usuals and always try something new. Our something new was the Chicken spring roll. Taste wise was good, the sauce definitely made a big difference as we thought it was a bit dry but great overall. I picked Kale salad and was super happy with my choice. The kale was chopped which I loved, it had Golden Raisins, Macadamia Nuts, lots of Shaved Pecorino Romano cheese and the best thing, the Cranberry Citrus Vinaigrette (yum). And last, Dogwatch Seared Tuna. Holy cow was it great. The quality of the tuna as always perfection. Tasted better than any we've ever had and panko crust was a perfect added bonus. I will say that the place was clean when we picked up our to go order. Thus, it warrants once star. Other than that, I really do not understand what all of the fuss was about. The chicken was overcooked and absolutely tasteless. No one will get food poisoning from that chicken cutlet, or any enjoyment. The stuffed clams were blobs of stuffing - and perhaps a the title of clam comes from the fact that the stuffing was served in a clam. Other than that, it was a tasteless disappointment. The barbecue sandwich tasted similar to the stuffed clams - tasteless. The coleslaw was warm - not sure how they did that. I am in amazement that this place is often so busy. Save your money and time - go anywhere but here. It's not worth your time, your hard earned money and your taste buds deserve so much more. There are so many great restaurants in Mystic - and this is a TOURIST TRAP to the max. At least the Stonington location has the water view to distract you. Skip this location forever. read more

First time at the Dog Watch Café Mystic location, and it was a lovely experience! I've been to their Stonington spot many times (and love it), so I was excited to check this one out. The Mystic location has a great outdoor patio, perfect for enjoying a nice day. It's dog-friendly, has games for kids, and the atmosphere is laid-back and fun. The menu here is slightly different than Stonington's. While Stonington leans more toward seafood, the Mystic location has more of a smoked BBQ focus, so it really depends on what you're in the mood for! My dad went with the lobster roll and fries, and I had the Gluten Free Salmon BLT. They don't offer GF bread, but they do have wraps, which worked just fine. Portions were generous, everything tasted fresh and delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. The staff was welcoming and attentive, which always adds to the experience. Went to the Stonington Dog watch and did not have reservations. The host said 1 hr. wait , no it will be an hr and 45 minutes. She was very rude. We decided to go the Mystic Dog House.Got in right away. The hostess was very nice and so was the wait staff. We had the scallop dinner and Cuban panini. Which was very good. We've been a couple times to the Stonington Borough location and have enjoyed our experience both times. This is a busy place, and we were fortunate on our first visit to snag a table for four on the heated patio (where they give you blankets for your lap, as well, which is a nice touch). Our party ended up getting the nachos, the cod dinner, the poke menu item, and one more thing I can't remember; the point is we were all happy with what we got. Service was friendly, efficient, and timely. The second time we thought we'd try the outside patio--but it ended up being too cold for one of us. They moved us inside rather quickly, even though they were again very busy. Can't remember what we got that time, but I remember we were both happy. Our favorite spot out of the three options (front heated/enclosed patio, inside, or back deck near the harbor) is the front patio. I think the outside patio would be too sunny for us, if the weather were warmer, and it was way too cold when it's still in the 50s out. I would say this is a consistently solid choice for dinner in the area, and one we recommend to our friends when they visit (as well as continuing to keep it on our list for ourselves). read more

Really cool restaurant with outdoor games and firepits with Adirondack seating. I tried the Dog Watch salad with ahi tuna, which was really good with all the right proportions. This is our first time dining at the Mystic location and second time at a Dog Watch restaurant. The location is nice and has some fun outdoor games. Parking is limited so if going when busy, leave time to find a spot. The menu was great and the food was delicious. Chowder was good and the fish sandwich was a little messy due to the tomato. My daughter got a pizza and that was a steal at $12. Looked great and she raved about it. My son got the Mac and cheese with pulled pork which again was very good. While the food was good there was a point of disappointment in our visit. We put in an appetizer order but it didn't arrive. Our waitress said she forgot to write it down and didn't seem too affected by her mistake. Unfortunately this is the second time this has happened. In our first visit to the Stonington location, we ordered a cup of chowder for an app and that didn't arrive either. I don't imagine this is a normal occurrence but twice in two visits is a bit off putting. My family had dinner here one night we were in Mystic. We ordered a variety of dishes. I would not get the flatbread pizza, although my kids did eat it. The lobster roll, salmon, brisket and mac and cheese were really tasty. The service was excellent. We came in a half hour before closing; we were told that orders had to be put in within 10 min (completely understandable). The server took her time to take our orders, answer our questions fully and even gave my husband a taster for a drink. There was no pressure or feeling of being rushed. This was our last stop at Mystic before heading home, and it didn't disappoint. Despite there being a wedding reception, we were seated inside immediately, there was a 1 hr wait for outside seating. We had calamari and burnt ends for our appetizers, the burnt ends were delicious and tender. The calamari was great and we loved the chorizo and peppers that came with it. For entrees, I had the St. Louis ribs, which was so tender, it fell off the bones. I picked the mashed potatoes as one of my sides, it was a bit peppery for my liking but still good. The corn bread that comes with the ribs was good as well. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich, which he enjoyed. My oldest had the plain flatbread pizza which was throughly enjoyed. My youngest had the kids pasta with olive oil which she ate every last bite. There was enough food for us to take home, which we ate the next day. I've been craving fried calamari all week and a lot of people on Facebook suggested Dog Watch. I go to get some and it looked delicious but it was so soggy and greasy. So I put it in the air fryer and left it on too long and actually burnt them all! That part was my fault, but I was trying to make them not soggy anymore. This is what they looked like right after I got them. Also! I ordered online and I chose curbside service so they would bring it to the car because I was having female pain. I even added a $3 tip online for someone to bring it out. So when I get there I call inside and they said they don't do curbside anymore and I have to walk in to get it. She said they didn't update their website yet. So I paid $3 to have someone reach 2 feet to get my food and hand it to me. I left 2 stars because because when I tasted It, the flavor was actually really good. It was just all wet and soggy. Was really disappointed, won't be going back. At least not for calamari. It's a shame because their other foods look really good, so hopefully this isnt the norm for them. read more

Absolutely no issues at the Dog Watch Mystic during my first ever visit. Food was good. Service was good. Outdoor area was nice. They even have some games for you - like corn hole - on the front lawn if you're waiting for a table. Several food options.... For our table of four, we had a chicken sandwich, chicken and waffles, teriyaki wings, and a burger. Plus the pretzel appetizer and some mashed potato and Mac and Cheese sides.
