Burria Crispy Beef Birria Taco (1)

Absolutely electric birria taco from Taquisimo @ bow market. Being from California, it's hard to come by a good birria spot but this place is pretty dang close to west coast standards. Def coming back here next week- thanks for a baller taco

Fast service, reasonable price, piping hot delicious birria bowls! Also nice to order outside on a hot summer day. Limited outdoor seating and very popular when the weather is good. Very salty.

Tacos never miss and don't forget to pair with the homemade salsa!! The carne asada is my favorite but the variation of birria is so amazin Always great service even when they are swamped on the weekends.

Been wanting to try this place for a while now because it's hard to find good Birria tacos near Boston! This location is inside Bow Market in Somerville so it is very small. There are places to eat outside in the actual market but not inside. Food: We got 3 quesabirria tacos with consomé. The birria was juicy, flavorful, and soft. The consomé was warm and surprisingly not too salty. I was able to drink the consomé on its own. The tortilla also crisped up nicely but did get a little soggy 7.5/10. Price: It was $17 for 3 tacos and the consomé. This is way too pricey for me to buy this again. They were also a bit skimpy on the meat so it was not worth the price 6/10.

I had such a wonderful experience at Taquisimo last week! I had the pleasure of speaking with Chef Hiram, who walked me through his story and some of his favorite dishes on the menu. Taquisimo is a fairly unassuming storefront in Somerville's Bow Market and has some of the best Mexican (Tijuana) dishes I've ever had. There are 4 or 5 counter seats if you prefer an eating experience surrounded by the perfectly powerful scents of birria - or Bow Market has a number of seating options surrounding their outdoor fireplaces. I chose the former option and was able to try some menu favorites! My top 3 orders: Birria quesadilla: SO good. I am a big quesadilla girl, and this one did not disappoint. The pickled onions provided a fresh touch, and the cheese was perfectly proportioned to the birria filling. Birria tacos: The fresh consommé set these apart for me. As Hiram instructed, I squeezed the fresh lime on top of the tacos and then inside of the small cup of consommé (which was simply fresh broth from the birria cooking process), and it was one of the BEST taco experiences I think I've ever had. The tortillas were perfectly crispy, as well - just make sure not to wait too long to eat them, as you'll want them to stay hot! Churro & Mexican Hot Chocolate: I'm grouping these together, since I think they're a must to pair. Make sure you break open the churro RIGHT AWAY while it's still warm! Such a perfect winter dessert. Dipping the churro in the hot chocolate is just an all-time flavor combo. Thanks to Taquisimo for such a great experience - can't wait to return next time I head over to Bow Market!!

Birria just tasted like cinnamon. Salsas were fresh but lacked flavor and seemed water downed.

Incredible birria tacos. Among the best tacos I've had in Boston. Would absolutely be worth the stop.

The taco was tasty, I wish it was thrown on the griddle with the tortilla, still slapped though Very nice folks here, the kind of energy in here will bring you back for at least another 3/4 tacos or burritos

Needed a quick, late-night spot to grab some food. I had found this place in instagram and was…read moreintrigued by a fast-food spot advertising pupusas. Plus they had other options, including tostadas, bowls, tamales, burritos, you name it. When we arrived, there were people inside eating. We stopped to look at the menu before ordering, and were greeted by a very friendly man who made the experience more enjoyable. I ordered a tostada with steak, onions, cilantro, a little sour cream, green verde sauce, lettuce, and refried beans. It was my first time trying one so so was really excited. I also ordered two cheese pupusas, which I ended up taking to go with me. My boyfriend ordered a bowl with chicken and various toppings. My tostada was delicious. The crunchy tortilla paired with fresh steak and all the juices from the onion and cilantro paired so nicely together. The ingredients seemed very fresh. We were gonna take this to go, but we decided to dine in. The same gentleman ended up checking in on us half way through the meal to see how we were doing. I thought this was really nice. His name is Chef Noe and he was telling us that he is the head chef for this restaurant. He was glad we enjoyed our meal and it was a pleasure talking to him. Overall I think the spot is well placed as it is right near Leslie university in Harvard so I think it's a good spot for students to come or if you're local like us. It's quick but it has quality. Its fast food but it's fresh. That's what I liked about it. It's all prepared in house and the flavors are great. The decor is also cute inside, very colorful and I thought it was creative that they up-cycled Jarittos bottles into flower vases. Definitely check out the spot when you're in Cambridge and you won't be disappointed.

Ordered the beef torta this evening and immediately went on to Yelp and got FOMO that I didn't…read moreorder the tacos which all look amazing. I really need to remember to look online before choosing my order in the future (or so I thought). While the tacos still look incredible (especially the birria ones), the torta was surprisingly great as well. The sandwich is jam packed with ingredients and really well balanced. The beef was juicy and tender, and the veggies added a really nice balance of spice (jalapenos), freshness (onions, lettuce, and tomatoes), and richness (cheese and avocadoes). The refried beans were a pleasant surprise as well, adding really good moisture and flavor to the overall bite. And including avocado on the torta for no extra cost really is what put this above and beyond to a 5/5 - the avocado was ripe and had just the right amount of it to add that rich and fatty element without being too slippery and making it hard to eat. The fries, on the other hand, were a bit soggy and thick for my liking. I had seen another photo on Yelp where they looked a lot crispier and were shaped differently, so not sure if I just got unlucky, but the sandwich more than made up for the fries in this case. I really can't say enough positive things about the torta. And even though the torta was fantastic and I gave it a 5/5, I definitely want to come back for those tacos. Three tacos plus rice for $18 is a pretty great deal, and the tacos really look incredible. My partner ordered a tongue, al pastor, and fish taco and while I didn't try them, they looked and smelled incredible. We will definitely be back!

Delicious carne asada and al pastor tacos. Service was very good, I will definitely be back again.read more
