I enjoy supporting small businesses and enjoy eating good food. I have not been doing as many reviews lately due to my life changing circumstances this past year after losing my mom on 10/16. On 11/5 I booked Samantha because I was referred by a close friend. I paid for this to ensure I had a smooth event, and had the absolute opposite. Instead of explaining everything please review how this business conducts themselves. I have attached all receipts below. It is 12/27 and I am unfortunately having to speak up because Samantha brought my name up in a response to an honest review from an attendee of our event. To be clear, there is nothing that had been said that is defamatory, false, or misleading. All reviews have been honest and posted by individuals who paid for this service and/or attended our event. I am sharing my honest experience for transparency and awareness. "Everything was carried out according to the service agreement." - Samantha Then why would your sister/employee Mayra- who ran the event on 11/5/2025 that I paid for offer to "make it up," with credits for the future. If you are looking for miscommunication, lack of accountability, mid tier tacos, rude service, and lies despite evidence of wronging than I could not recommend a taco service more fitting. This review is based entirely on my experience having hired this business for my mother's celebration of life in early November. Every claim I put forth can be substantiated. My sister reached out to Samantha, the owner of this business, to cater our party. We requested catering service for 110 guests and were charged and paid $2,050 at an average of $18/person for tacos. That is a luxury cost. Taking into account costs of business for wages of service (2 hours of service from 6pm-8pm), transportation, and food costs, this is still a relatively high rate. An important point to note is that we did not have 110 guests attend our event. We managed our attendance and RSVPS on Partiful - we have exactly 110 guests approved to attend, but over 12 of those guests did not make it to the event. Again, we had LESS than 110 people attend. Less than the amount we paid for, and far less than Samantha is claiming attended (over 150 people). Also, not sure how she knows over 150 people attended when she was not even there for the event herself. Up until the day of our event, Samantha was our primary point of contact. It was not until we arrived at our event and my sister greeted the team that we discovered Samantha, the owner, would not be present for the duration of our service. Rather, her sister would be serving. This was NEVER communicated to us prior to the event. We were immediately put off when her sister asked for payment up front and became upset when my sister notified her that she had already paid Samantha $2,050. She then demanded than my sister's boyfriend tip her even more money upfront, before service had even begun. Not once did I, as the daughter who lost my mother, receive a condolence, a "hello", an "I'm sorry for your loss" from the sister or the other people she brought to help her out. Instead, Samantha's sister was upset, short, and rude to our guests. We hired them to celebrate our event, and they lacked tact, empathy, and basic customer service skills. Again, please keep in mind that Samantha was not here. She cannot claim to know the environment of service nor form an opinion on the environment of service at our event AS SHE WAS NOT EVEN IN THE COUNTRY. Additionally, our service was set to end at 8:00pm. By the time my mother in law arrived at 6:45pm, Samantha's team only had chorizo and chicken left. We paid for four meats...with less than the amount of people paid for in attendance and in less than one hour, how could they have possibly ran out of asada? My best friend and her partner arrived around 7:20pm after her work day. Again, this is before 8:00pm. They were hungry and went to get tacos before joining the family inside. Why did Samantha's sister tell them "You're too late all the food is gone" when they went to get their tacos? Additionally, since I was last aware, we did not pay for Samantha's sister nor her staff to be included within our 110 guest count. Please explain why they were eating the food we paid for before 8pm, enjoying tacos in front of my best friend's face, during the duration of our service. That is beyond shameful and absolutely disrespectful, especially considering her inflammatory and incorrect claim that the reason they ran out of food was because we had over 150 guests. Please. Maybe we ran out of food because your team ate it ‍ Due to multiple guest complaints and the rude interactions we experienced, we brought our concerns to Samantha. To reconcile the subpar service we received, we did not ask for a full refund - we asked for our deposit to be returned. Logically, this would cover the loss of food for the guests WE PAID FOR and amend the negative experience we endured. We unexpectedly lost our mother and had to plan her services in spite of our grief. I hate looking back on this night and having it tainted by the negative interactions from Samantha's team. Unfortunately, when presented the opportunity to make things right, Samantha ultimately doubled down on the actions of her sister and her team. She refused to send the deposit, claiming that WE were in the wrong. First she said that because all the 200 plates her sister brought were gone at the end of that night, we must have had WAY more than 110 guests. I mean, at least try a little to scam us! There are countless ways to reduce place count - ruined plates, plates just for chips, multiple stacked plates; in fact, her sister gave me one plate for a single taco and one plate for a single quesadilla. That is simply a flawed metric of guest count, and we are well aware that we had LESS than 110 guests (again, we can provide evidence of less than 110 guests). read more

One of the most heartbreaking experiences I've ever had. My cousin paid over $2,050 for catering for 110 people for her mother's funeral service, and what we received from Los Tacos de Samantha was nothing short of disappointing and upsetting. The meat was terrible and the chicken was raw. This was supposed to be a respectful event to honor a loved one, and instead it turned into a stressful mess. We had about 90 guests, confirmed by security and a sign-in sheet, yet food ran out early and several of our last guests didn't get to eat at all. The was for 6-8pm the asada meat was gone by 6:45 pm. Definitely NOT for 110 people. The server, Mayra, was extremely unprofessional. She arrived complaining, with a bad attitude, and even asked my cousin's boyfriend for a tip directly to her, even though the event had already been fully paid for 110 guests. She said she didn't know it was prepaid, which made things even worse. It was painful to watch such disrespect during a funeral, when all we wanted was peace and care. Samantha, the owner, later apologized and cried on the phone to my cousin, but the damage was done. My cousin asked for a refund for 20 people since the food and service were not what we paid for. The salsa bar and guacamole looked nice, but the food itself was awful. Many of our guests left heartbroken and shocked by what happened. We trusted this company on one of the hardest days of our lives, and they failed us. We had Taquiza a Domicilio cater a church event for around 200 people, and they absolutely knocked it out of the park! The tacos were amazing--every meat option was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The aguas frescas were especially popular--mango and jamaica were the crowd favorites, and people kept going back for more! Samantha and her team were professional, friendly, and so well organized. Their setup was presentable, but the serving portions were extremely disappointing. The tacos looked like crumbs on a tortilla, and several of our guests complained about how little food they were given. The carne asada was questionable because the texture looked like ground beef. We paid for service for 70 people, and even though only 50 guests showed up, those who did attend were still served poorly. I would not hire them again. It seems to me after close review of this catering business that most often than not there seems to be a lack of responsibility and clear communication between the customer and business owner. I would not recommend to anyone that doesn't want to go under scrutinizing repent trying to remedy a situation that should not even exist when having to pay such large fees for there services. There priorities as a business are not clear and I would highly suggest to steer clear of using this caterer. Communication might be easier if your team spent less time copy-pasting replies and more time owning up when things go sideways. And they couldn't keep up again they had a pretty small grill which I would understand why they felt rushed and frustrated.
