Stopped by the Mendocino Farms on PCH in El Segundo for a quick bite and wasn't disappointed. The service was fast, friendly, and the ingredients tasted fresh. My order: * The Farm Club: You really can't go wrong with this one. The pickled red onions and herb aioli give it such a nice tang compared to a standard club sandwich. The turkey was high-quality and the bread held up perfectly. * Spicy Curried Couscous: I had to grab a side of their signature couscous, and it didn't disappoint. It has that signature roasted cauliflower and just the right amount of spice to balance out the sandwich. It's easily one of the best sides on their menu. The highlight of this visit was definitely sitting outside (inside is ok, a bit noisy and crowded). The patio area is clean, spacious, and perfect for catching some sun while you eat but most tables are shaded by umbrellas. Even though it's right off PCH, it's a great spot to relax and enjoy the El Segundo breeze. A couple Tips: * Parking: The plaza can get a little tight during the peak lunch hour, so give yourself a few extra minutes or try to arrive just before the 12:00 PM rush. * Ordering: If you're in a hurry, their mobile pickup is always super seamless at this location and can help you get in and out or you can take your food and eat in the park like courtyard area. He was so kind, helpful and over the top knowledgeable that I assumed he was the owner or manager but he didn't have a specific title of any kind. Usually, when I meet coworkers who are this over above and beyond grateful for my purchase, I assume they must be part owner. This really says a lot about how this place must value their coworkers. I love this Mendo's location! They have both outdoor patio seating and indoor booth and table seating. The booths have fake grass so it adds a nice little touch to the picnic ambience. The staff is upbeat, kind, and attentive. I was impressed with their caliber of service. If dining in, you order at the register and receive a number to place at your table. They will deliver the food to you. They keep it pretty clean, including the restrooms. They have a station for fountain drinks and area to drop off dirty dishes. As part of The Pointe, they have a large shared parking lots with handicap spots. And of course, their food did not disappoint. I actually found that an appetizer I ordered was too spicy. I was hesitant upon ordering so the employee said if it's too spicy, just bring it back and we'll exchange it for you for another one. That was generous, thoughtful, caring and honestly, refreshing to hear. And, she meant it. I ended up taking her up on that offer and it was a smooth fix. I had the Farm Club today and the "Not So Fried" Chicken sandwich which are respectively good, solid sandwiches. I love their pickled onions on the Farm Club combined with the avacado spread. The deli sides were Spicy Curry Couscous (not really spicy but flavorful), Basil Pesto Shells (family favorite), and the Spicy Dijon Potato Salad (again not really spicy but still flavorful). Been meaning to try Mendocino for forever. Went in for lunch with coworkers and was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved my sandwich. I tried the seasonal spicy Calabrian turkey focaccia sandwich and thought it was incredible. The sandwich was so flavorful and everything mixed so well together. The only downside was the focaccia was really soft and kind of crumbled apart. I think if it was a bit thicker and crispier it might've helped stay together better. The whole menu look so good and loaded with flavor but still really healthy. A great spot in a very busy business area. We just discovered a Mendocino Farms in Santa Clarita recently. So when we were out of our area and needed lunch we were happy to see a Mendocino Farms at the Point shopping center. This particular location was very busy which is always a good sign. Parking can be a challenge if you insist on close parking, but there is plenty of parking further out near the Rosecrans signal entrance. The staff were so very friendly and helpful. There is someone who is working the dining room and is ready to help with any needs. We ordered the farm club sandwich and the hummus pita crunch salad with two different dressings. When the dining room staff saw me looking around she asked if I needed anything. When I told her we were going to split our sandwich and salad and would like an extra plate and silverware when the food is delivered. She asked out name and took care of it. When she delivered the food and noticed they gave us the wrong dressings, she immediately went to get us the dressings we ordered. The staff is consistently working the dining room and took our trays and dishes when we were finished even though we were about to clear them ourselves. The farm club sandwich is so very yummy and I was able to substitute extra hummus for the chicken on the hummus pita crunch salad. We really enjoy the chipotle ranch viniagrette. The iced tea was also fresh and unsweetened just like we like it. Overall the not so fried chicken sandwich had a nice crunch to it, but the chicken tasted bland. It was also overly saucy in the inside which made it difficult to appreciate the sandwich entirely. The bread had a nice crunch and fluffiness to it. This used to be my favorite order but I didn't like it as much today. My husband ordered the steak chimichurri. His impression was similar in that there was too much sauce on the sandwich which made it difficult to taste the meat. The meat itself was good but hard to taste the chimichurri flavor. Definitely checked all the boxes! I went with a friend of mine on Sunday the 7th and had the best salad I've ever had in my entire life. The Watermelon Poke Salad! Good gravy seriously??? Love Mendo and have been coming here for more than a decade, by far my favorite sandwich spot! Food is so flavorful, quality is great, store is clean, service is top tier and they never get my order wrong!! Even down to remembering utensils and napkins its always packaged perfectly. I also like their unique drink options for soda and iced tea. I always get a pork belly bahn mi or the not so fried chicken Sammie and a side of pesto pasta salad.
