I am so torn about this review! This restaurant is a tiny place that only has three tables inside, several picnic tables outside so eating in might not be ideal. No one else was there when we arrived so no issue for us on a Wednesday for lunchtime. Others came in for take out and later a couple came in and ate in. Ordering was easy, lots to chose from. Each dish is prepared fresh, came out hot and omg, DELISH!! Absolutely did not disappoint! My only issue is the only person working went to the bathroom while we were there(no TP there) and washed her hands about 4 seconds. Just ran them under water-we were seated right outside the bathroom door and could clearly hear this. My hope is there is a sink in the kitchen that they use before preparing food but this freaked me out. Food great, Easter and Christmas decor out-amusing and fun, cleanliness-not so sure about which is very important. The churro was definitely the best I've ever had so that might warrant a return trip and give second chance. Will update if so!

We walked a battan death march from the Marriot to this unassuming taco spot with small children in tow who nearly gave up and moved into the zoo. It's fine. They survived, but only because we took an Uber back. I thought alambres were like fajitas but if you get it without meat, you get a $10 plate of almost nothing. I do t know why we didn't get the tortillas. The 12 year old kid helming the window did his best. Shrugs. The pork empanadas were tits. Made to order! Chicken tings sopes were also perfect. Best dish? See fried plantain with sweetened condensed milk photo I took two years ago, last time we went to the zoo. Steak taco and burritro were fine, but whatever gringo. Jarritos were ice cold. NO BEER! $54 for family of 4, but I ate most of it.

I used GasBuddy to find the cheapest gas on my way out of IND... and what do I spy across the way? Taqueria Mi Costa!! Delicious!!

The overall atmosphere made me feel comfortable and at home. The first thing I noticed is that they had outside seating with umbrellas and lighting which gives off a really welcoming vibe. When you go inside the first thing you see is the counter where you order and they have a bunch of signs of specials or other things they sell. The menu is off to the side when you walk in. It's a big board with lots of pictures which really helps people who like to see visuals. For me the layout and decorations truly made it feel like a genuine Mexican establishment and it made me feel at home. Since it's currently October they had Halloween themed decorations everywhere as well as typical Mexican decorations. The overall service was good as well. When you walk in you are greeted by whoever is behind the window and they patiently wait until you are ready to order. If you're like me I like to ask extra questions about certain menu items and the person that I was speaking to was very friendly and quick to answer any of my questions. They were also very accommodating when I asked for substitutions on certain menu items and they were happy to switch anything out and accommodate what I wanted. The food came out pretty quickly as well. I went with two other people and we ordered the Asada fries. It was a good portion for all three of us to share. I believe they normally come with nacho cheese on them but we asked for it on the side and we asked for a different white cheese on top. They were very accommodating with this request. The food came out pretty quickly and fresh. The fries were really hot so we knew that it was freshly made. The presentation of the meal was really good. The fries are laid out at the bottom then a layer of meat and the cheese on top with sour cream. I believe you can add other toppings if you want such as lettuce or tomato. This was the only thing we got and it was pretty filling for all of us and super tasty. They also offered many other things and a lot of drink options as well.

I was finishing up school work and was so hungry and left craving tacos so I looked for the nearest taqueria and this was it! It's a small place on Washington street near the IUPUI campus. Has a small parking lot, but inside can be a little cramped. It's run by a single lady and she's working hard non stop! The place was packed and I can see why. She recommended the pina colada Agua Fresca and it was delicious. My favorite taco meats were available here, cachete, cabeza, and lengua which can be hard to find sometimes. She makes it fresh and there might be a little wait but it was so delicious. Definitely one of my new favorite taco spots and I love that it's so close to where I am! Highly recommended!

Visited this place for the first time and wow! I can't believe I have been missing out on this place! And so close to work!!! This Taqueria is worth trying out! I was surprised to find out their dishes are from the Guerrero region of Mexico, which is where my family is from. I immediately was sold. I haven't found many places that cook in the style of my family's home country. I felt right at home. I ordered their pozole, one of my favorite dishes. This is the first time I find a white pozole instead of red, which is rare but native to our region. This made me so happy that I could finally order white pozole in a Mexican restaurant!!! I also ordered two chorizo tacos and champurrado. I had just gotten back from a trip to India and I missed out on all the Mexican Christmas food. I somewhat made it up by ordering from this place. The tacos were delicious! The pozole was a bit salty and the maize was a bit undercooked, but it was still very tasty. I would highly recommend visiting this place. It is definitely a hole in the wall, but worth every dime. The owners speak limited English, so please be kind and courteous. The place is small. There are a limited amount of seating. One must order food at the front.

Wonderful family friendly and affordable, best taco restaurant, very authentic original Mexican joint. Fresh homemade tortillas made instantly at the moment when they're preparing your tacos. They always have fresh ingredients in this place always has four with a high traffic people going in and out with third to go orders, Good Parking space available, dining room is very small only 3 tables, outside patio it's ideal if the weather is good.

This is REAL authentic Mexican food. Made to order, we had several tacos, a burrito and a quesadilla. The food was fantastic. Only reason for 4 stars is that everything is in Spanish. So I felt silly asking the staff to translate everything. It would be nice to have one English menu, for us who are not fluent in Spanish.

I've only gotten tacos and their nachos here. The tacos are great, I always get legua and chicharron. The tortillas are fresh and delicious. They have some really good red and green sauce you can add. I was very disappointed by their nachos. It looked like they went to the gas station next door and bought them to resale at their restaurant. I would expect a taco restaurant to serve better nachos.

Myself and my coworkers love this place. Great location close to downtown. Perfect to grab a quick lunch. I would highly recommend the asada fries, tacos, and chicken tostadas. Today is the second time we've had lunch here, just this week. Customer service is always very friendly and prompt.

YOU GO HERE RIGHT NOW! With all the ambiance of a prison waiting room, you'll be blown away on how good and amazing the food is. I hit this place randomly on a biz trip from L.A. and was so happy--close to downtown without the annoying crowds. Pastor taco & pollo burrito for a first meal with a Mexican Coke. Green sauce for the taco, red sauce for the burrito. My next visit I'm getting adventurous...

The menu offered a few different foods with multiple choices on sizes (by the ounce), and the lovely hostess taking our order was delightful. We had a really hard time deciding what to get as everything looked reeeeeeally good, but we opted to split the following: *Bacon Hash -- 4 oz for $4 -- well worth it! *Barnyard chili -- 8 oz for $7 -- pricy yet tasty *Jicama Tacos (one chicken guac and one chorizo aioli) -- 2 for $7 -- messy but pretty good *Fudge bites for dessert -- $3 for one -- dark chocolate, peanut butter, banana, sea salt, and applesauce mixed and formed in to a hockey-puck type solid mass. It was not really sweet like I expected, and kind of hard to eat. Probably wouldn't get it again. Next time I will totally get the Brussels Sprouts for myself when not sharing with the hubs :) I would say overall this was a 3 1/2 star experience for me as it was over $20 for 'snacks' and we were still hungry afterwards, but a star bump for using real, quality ingredients.

Still, I'll support a paleo food truck when the truck has "bacon (greater than) gluten" painted on the side of it. That's one way to get my attention for sure! On our visit my boyfriend and I shared two tacos--one chicken, one chorizo--fried plantains, and the brussel sprouts. I have so many nice things to say about all three. Instead of corn or flour, Caveman Truck uses fresh jicama as a tortilla to hold its protein + slaw + guac/aioli. It's the perfect starchy alternative to cut through the good greasiness of the chorizo. The plantains are not only fried in coconut oil beautifully, but also they are caked with a curry-based seasoning, providing you with a sweet plantain that also has some savory elements to it. The brussel sprouts--my favorite of the three--are fried in coconut oil and topped with an overload of crumbled bacon and a spritz of lime. It's a little bit of fatty, a little bit of zesty and a whole lot of flavor. All three dishes knocked it out of the park. From here on out, I'll be keeping an eye out for the Caveman Truck on the streets of Indy, because I still need to try the highly-praised barnyard chili and bacon hash. If this is how our ancestors ate, then I can't wait to eat the primal way again!

It's decorated in a light golf theme with colorful graphics and a fun spirit. It's got two windows - an ordering window and a pick-up window - and it's definitely a rather large food truck. The menu here was fairly simple with some basic American classics including a hand-breaded tenderloin, hand-breaded spicy chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, chicken salad (I sense a theme going on here), a basket of fries, some drink options, and it seems like there are some other options that occasionally surface on the menu. The Legendary offers meals - so, for example, the sandwiches generally come with fries. I opted to order chicken tenders with fries for $13. They had 3 sauces - barbecue, honey mustard, and one other I'm forgetting. I had barbecue. There was a decent wait in the line, though that's certainly not on The Legendary. Once I ordered, things were ready fairly quickly and they were actually served hot. I will say that the plate-type container used is a little flimsier than I would like. I opted to eat outside, but even when I tried to carry it to the trash I had trouble doing so. The employees were friendly. They were busy, but maintained a nice professional decorum. I was honestly amazed at the generosity of the serving. I would almost call the chicken "slabs" rather than "tenders." They were nicely sized, fresh, clearly hand-breaded, and absolutely delicious. I usually complain about the elevated prices at a food truck, but I'd pay $13 for this food anywhere. The fries were nicely seasoned. They were sort of steak fries - definitely thicker - and they perfectly complemented the tenders. If I were to compile a list of my top 5 Statehouse Market meals, there's no doubt this meal would be on it. I loved everything about it. In fact, the only reason I might not order it again was because it was actually such a generous serving that I could barely eat it all. While I will admit I wish the plate situation was a tad more stable, this is a 5-star experience all the way. I'd love to see Yelp's Rick G., a tenderloin blogger in real life, try this tenderloin out. I think it may very well be the rare food truck tenderloin to be worth your time. There's no doubt I'll definitely be back.

I've had a couple downright disappointing experiences, a handful of average ones, and only occasionally something that truly impressed me. I had planned to visit a pizza truck that was scheduled to be here today, but it appeared to be a cancellation. Box Burger was packed, Union Jack's was busy, and I'll admit that nothing else was striking my fancy. I spied the attractive Garnacha Spot truck and was intrigued. It is beautifully decorated. The line wasn't too bad and I was working on a limited time schedule due to an upcoming meeting. I checked out the menu - tacos, quesadillas, tortas, and a handful of other items. I opted for a chicken quesadilla. I'll be the first to admit I'm no expert when it comes to Mexican. I'd almost guarantee I lean toward Americanized Mexican cuisine. This quesadilla was right at $4.50 plus tax. I should have gotten two, but I typically eat outside and I knew I had to rush. What can I say? I loved this quesadilla. The seasoning mix was perfect, the flavor wonderful, and the serving size was definitely right on for a $4.50 quesadilla. Yes, I could have eaten another one. Easily. The best part for me here? The service was perfect. The woman who took the order was helpful and super friendly. While I'm sure they'd have loved a bigger order, they were marvelously hospitable. The person who handed me the order, presented in a styrofoam container, recognized the difficulty of carrying in a wheelchair and offered me a bag - I didn't take it, but I loved the thoughtfulness. This experience was definitely one of the highlights of Statehouse Market for me this year. The people were friendly, the food was delicious, the prices were fair, and the truck is attractively decorated and fits with the personality of the people and the cuisine. I like a dim atmosphere, but it was hardly lit enough to read the menu. It was difficult to navigate as it was mostly in Spanish. Extremely limited vegetarian options which I'm not sure I can assume were actually without chicken base in the rice, etc. I didn't even see a vegetable fajita on the menu. My vegetarian burrito sans crema and cheese consisted of little more than rice and a couple small diced pieces of avocado and diced tomato. Iceberg lettuce? I saw corn niblets and a pea fall out. Bland. Hot sauce choices not fantastic. What kind of burrito contains no beans?? Everyone else at my table received flatware. I was given a plastic fork. Once I received an actual fork & knife, they kept tearing the paper underneath my burrito. Strangely served with raw cucumber (ick) & lime wedges on the side. Edible at best. The atmosphere looked interesting upon entry, but it felt grungy, the chairs were heavy. I was seated right next to a brick wall/chimney. Service was sparse. Definite language barrier. The dish my companions received was an array of meat in a molcajete. Mixed feedback on the peppers being ungodly too hot & some of it, especially the sausage, having a good flavor. It was massive & messy. It was interesting initially but definitely didn't look appetizing to me. That came with a bowl of beans in sauce with what we later discovered were Chicharrón on top. It looked like boiled mystery chicken skin. A friend from SoCal I consulted online had no idea what it was from my photo as we tried to discern it & they didn't realize it was even Mexican food from the appearance. It was assumed I was at an Asian joint. We had to ask for drink refills far into our meal. I was given a fresh new cup. The server took another person's cup from the table and refilled it in the back. That was strange and seemed unsanitary. We didn't get everything we asked for. I'd say language was the problem except for the fact the server had understood my requests when "crema" was the only Spanish word I used. Ladies' room had room for one person at a time. The sink was backing up. It felt dingy like the rest of the building. I'm glad they had paper towels and not just a hand blower. I didn't choose the restaurant. It was one of the worst if not THE most horrible Mexican meals & experiences I've had in my life. Hard pass. I'd gladly pay more for better fare elsewhere. I can make far superior at home.
