I was on my lunch break looking for a calculator that was not on the shelves. Took 20 minutes for someone to help me just to tell me it wasn't in stock in the back either after I tried flagging down the workers in random departments since the one woman there was assisting another guest. Most of the workers here literally seem to just laze around and talk with each other without actually seeming to want to help you. Coming from someone who worked at the Dublin Target a few years ago and is familiar with Target as a corporation please hire better workers than the piss poor ones you have now. This Target is a very short drive away from me through the Webster Street tunnel, but its convenience, cleanliness, and late hours are its best qualities. Customer service is the worst thing about this Target (not to mention that it's constantly picked over). I've experienced the following here, all on separate visits: - While browsing through the cosmetics, one of Target's beauty advisers walked up to me and asked if I needed help with anything. I was wearing an AFI tee that I had just bought at the AFI show I went to the night before; the adviser said, surprisingly snottily, "Oh, that's an AFI tee. You must've gone to the show. I can tell, that's their new album," with a negative emphasis on the word "new." I've been an AFI fan since I was a high school freshman. I'm 26 now, and the show featured one song from their new album. So, fail on her part in her attempt to be a smartass. And if those advisers earn some kind of special commission other than their Target pay, well, double fail on her part because I refused her help after the comment. - My dad has a really, really bad back and walks with a cane. While walking through the movie aisles, a Target cart suddenly came zooming out of the aisle just ahead of us, crashing into a display of product at the end of the aisle. Had we been walking any faster it would've t-boned my dad. He was understandably pissed and saw that some dimwitted employee had shoved the cart with all her might down the aisle, which she assumed was empty, and didn't even bother to make sure she didn't hit anyone. He confronted her and told her she needed to watch what the hell she was doing and that she could've hit someone. She insincerely apologized, saying she didn't see him there. She honestly couldn't care less, and it showed. - Tonight I had 10 items in my cart at checkout, one of those a beanie. While watching the cashier ring everything up I noticed she didn't scan the beanie and sort of flicked it around the scanner and slightly under the part of the counter I was leaning on, just out of eyesight. I quickly checked the screen to see if she scanned it and I missed it, but couldn't really tell if she had. I figured I'd probably set off the alarms if she didn't, which wouldn't be a big deal, I'd just go back and pay for it. I noticed I didn't set off the alarm when I walked out, so I checked my bag and receipt in the car and saw the beanie was never scanned and wasn't in the bag. I went right back in and the girl asked me if I forgot something. I said the beanie, but noticed she was already reaching for the beanie before I finished talking, which she'd put under the register. She claimed that "some woman was trying to say it was hers" and she told her it wasn't, which was very nice of her, but also seemed weird - why would someone either make up in their head that they'd grabbed a beanie, of all things, during their shopping when they actually hadn't, or, why would they try and say something they knew they didn't buy was theirs? The girl said it was "a lot of fuss over a beanie," and it made me wonder if she was projecting and deliberately didn't scan my item to set it aside for herself, then made up this story when I came right back for it. Mind you, just before she rang me up, she asked me to wait as she ran out of the store to give a customer his watch that he'd forgotten after paying for it. So she was clearly an attentive cashier - so why not let me know before leaving that I'd forgotten something, too, rather than hide it under the register and not make the same attempt for me that she made for the man before me? - Four teens with clearly no intention of buying anything rode into the store on their bikes and continued to ride around the store on them, yelling loudly to one another and acting foolish. No security, no employee told them to get lost if they weren't customers and to get off their bikes in the store, so people just had to get out of the way until the guys decided to finally leave. In general, this Target is home to what seems to be a majority of twenty-somethings just working for a paycheck, with no professionalism to speak of. A lot of them are varying levels of rude and unmotivated. The nicest people I've encountered here have been older workers. The excuse that it's a retail job and getting paid retail pay isn't much motivation for putting in effort doesn't fly with me. I learned in five years of retail that the customer isn't always right, but you certainly shouldn't use that as justification for being a crap employee. Earn your keep and be civil while doing it. Nearly everyone working at this Target could stand to learn that. read more

Extremely today, I am always price matching and understand how tedious it can be for the cashier to change the price so I try to limit it to 3 items lol. Yay! Conveniently located thru the Webster tube! Place is neat, and ANY Target is fun to shop at....to me, this place is like Costco's little sister...its an available credit 'vampire"! You think you're going in for something quick and 30 minutes later, you leave spending $50+. Of course, i think i saved money by using my Target card and saving 5%. Woo-hoo! In Target App, it says "limited stock", but actually it's sold out :( I have experienced this a few times during this pandemic. The employee said, this happens when the customer actually has the item in a cart but not having checked out yet. I don't trust "limited stock" anymore. I was so happy yesterday after visiting this store. I took my 84 year old mother, who has been homebound after breaking 5 bones in her leg,out of the house for the first time in 5 months, to do some Xmas shopping. We chose target because of the motorized scooters. We had no less than 5 people offer to help us. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. When I was helping my mother out of the scooter and into my car yesterday at 3pm, a young male employee appeared out of nowhere, helped me to get my mom in the car, and returned the scooter for me. He just jumped into action without being asked! There were also two people inside the store that helped when the scooter we were using ran out of juice. We felt so cared for and welcomed. Kudos to the employees who helped us, and the managers who trained them. read more

I walked into this Target store a couple of days ago with $500 to spend. I needed some new underwear and a Chromebook, ASAP. I didn't go to Amazon because I wanted to walk out of the store with a Chromebook, not even have to wait for Amazon rapid delivery. I picked up some two items of underwear in a pretty color, and walked to the electronics department. I spent about 3 minutes looking over the Chromebooks on display, and decided to buy one for $300, plus tax and extended warranty, it would have been about $450. Two employees in the department were behind the counter busy with their smartphones, not noticing customers. I asked for some attention, and said I want to buy this Chromebook. "It's not in stock." Okay, when will it be in stock? Smartphone is used to look something up, the smartphone is waved in front of my face, I have no idea what was on the screen other than a Target logo, apparently some online stock inventory for employees to reference. Okay, when will it be in stock? "It won't be restocked." Oh, well I'd really like to buy it. Is there someone you can call to see if I can get it? "No. it won't be restocked." Waves smartphone at me again. "Can I buy the display model?" a common practice in retail stores, even those who are large corporate owned stores that employ people who have no idea what they're selling for several hundred dollars, and apparently no motivation to sell it. "No. We can't sell the display model." Okay, bye bye. And I'm taking several hundred dollars I was ready to spend here with me. I went to the cashiers at the front of the the store and paid for $50.00 worth of undies. I get home. The cashier has failed to remove all the anti theft tags from the the undies. Now I have to make another trip to the store to get the tag removed, because apparently even the cashiers at Target can't be bothered to do their jobs properly. THIS IS WHY I SHOP ON AMAZON. I purchased $110 dollars worth of beauty products from Target last night and when I got home I was missing a shopping bag . I searched my car thoroughly and recalled double checking the cart before I returned to my vehicle . I must have left it at the checkout stand . I didn't want to drive to the other end of Alameda if it wasn't there so I called guest services . The manager went around to look for my missing items and nothing was found . I am surprised that the manager offered to replace each item if I had a receipt dated today . Thankfully , I did have the receipt and was able to recover all of the products I purchased . I only went into this store for a couple of women's clothing items. Simple, right? Uh, NO! To make a basic clothing decision you usually decide by color, size and price. Picking the color was easy Understanding the price was easy But the SIZE!?!? What an utter mess! It seems that who ever supervises the employees that work in the clothing department forgot to point out that the size on the hanger should match the size of the garment they display on that hanger. Instead, I found BIG on small and SHORT on TALL ??? And in the clearance section, GOOD LUCK! They barely had the clothing hanging on the hangers at all. Some were dangling by a shoulder, some were laying on the floor, some were draped over the rack. And NOTHING was on a hanger that matched the size of the garnet. Seriously? I would expect a Target store in Alameda would have the budget to properly staff, train and supervise employees so they keep their clothing departments manageable. How much inventory can a store sell if the customers can't find what they are looking for?? Total wreck. Did I catch this Target on a bad day or is it always like this?!? read more

I shopped a lot at this Target, easy and safe to park. The reason I gave 2 stars because - on a Monday night when I shopped, I fell on floor near the kitchen utensil section. I didn't realized there are some pink liquid on the floor. I told one of the staffs that I just fell and asked her to placed a warning sign. I continued shopping. When I returned and passed by that area, still no warning sign nor cleaned up the pink liquid. Also, some house essential items are 10-20% higher price than south bay area Targets. read more

I absolutely love target. Shop there almost everyday! This target in particular has excellent customer service, self check out lanes, and I never had a problem with checking out. The shelves are almost always stocked, and the best part is they have an optical! I never apply for store credit cards, but getting an additional 5 % off is amazing. Add that with coupons, cartwheel, and mobile coupons and you will score a good deal. I also love that target gives you $5 gift cards when buy certain items. I am by no means a techie but I am fairly knowledgeable on how to set up my networks at home as well as navigate updated tech appliances. CORONAVIRUS INFECTIONS ARE IN THIS STORE NOW! This Target in Alameda, CA has reportedly at least 5 confirmed Employee Covid19 (CORONAVIRUS) infections as of 7/8/2020 and Target management is not closing the store, is doing simple things like cleaning doorknobs and registers, but not a real cleanup, and not telling customers, and probably not reporting it to Alameda Health Authorities. They are also telling employees they cannot do LOA's (Leave of absence) because there are "Too Many". They are also telling employees to "Hush" and not tell anyone. No news of this either. This is a nice fairly new Target on the West End. It's clean, has everything you're probably looking for, and employees are friendly. This store also has a Starbucks and a food court. There's a big parking lot so no worries there. It's located in an area with a lot of new stores and restaurants and ones that will be opening soon. read more

This has turned into a ghetto store... they have taken this family oriented cute town and brought it down 100 notches! It's filthy all of the time. The bathrooms are beyond disgusting. I won't take my child or grandchild in there... Men employees walk in the bathroom without notification. I started complaining a couple years ago and no just go off of the island and don't Go to Target anymore. I used to be Targets #1 customer. Sadly not anymore. I used to shop there more than once a. Woo-hoo! Target is in Alameda. After having to venture to San Leandro and Emeryville, now I get to stay on the Island to shop at Target. Target is the anchor store and is the first store to open in the retail center of Alameda Landing, which is located just off the Webster Street Tube. Driving into parking lot on a recent Saturday and seeing so many open parking spaces felt surreal. This was not what I'm accustomed to at the other Targets. This is probably one of the largest Targets, since it does have a full grocery section. The aisles in the store are wide and spacious as well. The workers were friendly and helpful in guiding me to the location of items I was looking for. Granted this is a brand new store that is the sole tenant in the Landing. We'll have to see what it will be like when the other stores open up and whether this mall becomes busy. Hopefully, this Target will stay mellow like the city of Alameda. This is my first time visiting this Target and my experience was super efficient. I was so glad that Martha in electronics was able to help my friend and I with the things we needed. Her customer service was AMAZING. I don't usually write reviews unless impressed or unimpressed and she really did a great job. She introduced the features to us on the Target app which saved my friend and I a few dollars, assisted us in finding a piece we needed for my car in electronics, and just great energy. If she's not already in management, she definitely should be ! Aside from that the store layout was perfect . Got everything we needed in less than 10 minutes. read more

Cashier was absolutely rude and snapped at kids. Said her lane was closed without a sign. No problem but why snap at a child putting things on the belt. A simple and polite comment would be great. Target, the store where you walk in wanting one thing, but end up buying everything. What's supposed to be a quick trip ends up being hours and hours of impulse buys that you know damn well you don't have the money for, but give yourself so many reasons that you need those extra things. Also, who needs brand names when you have Targét? You get the best value for their brand products and there's always at least a 5% discount on Cartwheel that goes along with it. What a steal! I like this Target for a lot of reasons. It's the closest one to home, it's clean, everybody's really friendly, and the location is perfect. I've never had a problem with returns and they honestly do the best they can to accommodate you. They also have Curbside pickup, but how could you NOT make a Target haul if you're already there? The only thing I don't like about this location is that it's 50/50; sometimes they'll have what I want, other times they're out. Nothing is more satisfying than when you hit them with that REDcard, Cartwheel, manufacturer's coupon, AND bag discount at checkout. Call me frugal, but I'll hit them with that price match too whenever possible, so find me at guest services. Check their website and compare prices online versus in-store because I've found on numerous occasions that the same item is cheaper online by a lot!!! So with that said, here's a to-do list for you: sign up for a REDcard if you ain't got one, download Cartwheel on your phone and make sure your phone is charged so you can scan it at checkout, print some coupons you find on Google, BYOB, and price match the F**K out of EVERYTHING, otherwise you ain't doing it right!!! I shouldn't be happy that Target arrived in my little island... but guess what... I am freaking thankful that they did!!! I don't have to go to Emeryville and or Hayward to get stuff... I can just stay in the island! Plus during the holidays... they weren't crazy busy. I love it. It's organize... it's clean... NOT GHETTO and the staff are friendly and parking is a breeze! Very nice addition to Alameda - store is clean, organized, staff is friendly, and because it's still somewhat "hidden", they are almost never out of stock. I don't feel stressed out shopping here and the customers are pleasant too. Parking is super easy as it is part of a new business development (with Safeway and Michael's I hear). 2 stars because this store is always clean. However the staff at this location GREATLY need to be trained on some basic customer service. Came in looking for a specific item. Asked 2 separate Target employees, neither one of them spoke a single word to me. The first one I approached said hello, they only smiled. After asking if they had the item I was looking for they just shook their head and walked away. This location is a smaller style. I've seen only 2 or 3 across the country like the one in Hanover, PA but they seem to stay more organized than bigger stores. This one looked great. Parking was a bit scary with people not checking what was happening around them. The store itself had plenty of stock and seemed very neat, as though people cared. Being that it's close to Safeway, I wonder how business works for both of them. I'll be back the next time I'm at the skate park. read more
