Losing a loyal customer over a $28 pillow, was it worth it? Based on a phone conversation that displayed poor customer service.

Thank you Barbara for authorizing a return. Daisy's is like a car dealership. If you purchase anything on clearance, it is final sale. We are going our separate ways as if it was an interview. Barbara said "you bought it two weeks ago... we're not a good fit." I never really enjoyed the luxury of shopping at Daisy's and all their cute but cheaply made products. I only was a customer because I'm a sucker for impactful quotes. Those brown overpriced quote cards were my main attraction but not worth the animosity. It is disappointing that I feel like and have observed the owners religiously inspecting people with their eyes creating a sense of hostility. Because God forbid someone shoplifts. As much as how I do not agree with stealing, it happens still. But to have a toxic culture that's based in policing the floors, this negative store culture is vivid and this kind of perception creates an atmosphere that is not welcoming. Yes, Barbara "we are not a good fit." Good luck with your new store.

Very cute localish store in Alameda that sells from unique pieces of clothings, cooking items to home furnishing. It has many unique pieces and the store is very cute and whimsical decors. Items are unique that cannot be found in the big mortar stores. Supporting the small and local businesses are ideals. I can only imagine it would be more magical for the Christmas displays at the store.

Luckily, I've had good experiences every time I've gone to Daisy's. I hope they read feedback from the unhappy shoppers and make adjustments to ensure that everyone leaves Daisy's feeling good. This charming, local shop reminds me a lot of Anthropologie. They have a small, but beautifully curated selection of clothing, jewelry, stationery, gifts, and home goods. I'm very impressed with their very stylish fitting room! The staff has been very welcoming and helpful when I've shopped here. Crossing my fingers that I continue to experience excellent service during future visits.

A sweet little shop with truly unique, quality gifts. You can find a nice gift for virtually anyone here. They have all kinds of beautiful knick-knacks, jewelry, ceramics, perfumed candles, quirky books, etc. etc. And it's all great quality, items you will not find at big-box retailers. I'm generally a minimalist and not a fan of too much 'stuff', but I've bought a number of gifts here for friends over the years, I like their products so much. I also just enjoy stopping in when it's on my way, just to browse. So many neat things to look through. If you're in Alameda, I would definitely encourage you to stop into this shop, particularly if you're looking for a nice gift for someone.

    Cute little store

I'm guessing they've either fixed the problem or you just can't please everyone because they ticked all the boxes today. I bought an entire bag full of them for Christmas gifts for friends and family with pets. Secondly, I found something I wanted and looked for about 15 minutes for another item like it because it didn't have a price tag. I braised to have someone roll their eyes when I asked them to price it for me and one of the girls was so great she was gone for a while, but I didn't mind. I continued to shop and she brought the blanket back with a brand new spanking tag on it. Had an absolutely stellar experience with Dion at the register. He had no trouble wrapping delicate fragile items, and in fact insisted upon it. This employee goes above and beyond.

I approached him and said, "I don't know much about gardening and I have a feeling you do! So I'm wondering if you could help me. I have hydrophobic soil, and my lawn is patchy." He said, "Well you shouldda used compost." I said, "Let's try again, and not start with 'you shouldda.'" I smiled and continued, "We had the seed put in in October, and they used compost. We will be reseeding and re-composting in the fall..." He interrupted and said, "Well I have some advice if you would LISTEN." I said, "I'm listening." He said, "I have some fertilizer with soil conditioner." I said, "Well, I used soil conditioner yesterday." I never raised my voice or took an attitude with him. I just said, "You have expertise, right? And I respect your expertise. Well, I also have expertise, in another field, and when people come to me for advice, I don't speak to them this way. So I'm going to leave now. Have a nice day." My grown son was with me. I asked him, "Am I crazy or was that man very rude?" My son said he couldn't believe the way Greg spoke to me. I looked him up afterward to be sure I wasn't naming the wrong person. It was the owner, Greg Dupuich. I will not be returning to this nursery, and I would not recommend going there as a woman. I have a feeling he would not have spoken to a man this way. Greg did not bother to take the time to understand my problem or ask basic diagnostic questions. When I got home I looked up some examples of questions a helpful specialist could have asked: -What is your soil type? -How deep down is the soil dry? -How old is the lawn? -Have you added any bark, mulch, or compost recently? -Have you tried using a liquid wetting agent or aerator yet? -Are you looking to buy a tool to fix this, or a chemical/soil product? Those are the kinds of questions a skilled, knowledgeable person would ask, and I would have appreciated it if he had taken the time. Beautiful nursery, but I will take my business elsewhere.
