I ruptured my achilles and am currently using crutches to get around. Me and Jenny entered the store tonight and was greeted by the security guard Keith. The first thing he and a Target employee ask was if I needed assistance and or a cart to get around in. I told them that I was fine using the crutches. Keith was very kind. As we left the he was sure to say goodbye. Not only does Target have security in place to keep us safe, but also have people that truly care. A big shout out to KEITH the security guard. Employees are not trained in customer service. Store is dirty, messy and not stocked. Service is non existent. When they mess up, there is no acknowledgement. No management present. If you come here use the self checkout because the customer service people look at like you're bothering them. Not coming to this one again. read more

Birthday present turned out nightmare. We bought wireless Dyson vacuum cleaner from Target in Alameda,It was perfectly sealed. Give the present to my daughter who was excited. If black Friday shopping is all about buying stuff you don't need just because the price is right you can call me very successful this year. A cork yoga block, pressure cooker, espresso machine, Nate Burkus chalk board and a TV so large I almost needed to call up SUV car service to take it home. Saturday night the official last moment for all the crazed thanksgiving sales I found myself wandering the aisles of Target. I needed some milk and some leather moisturizer and walked out with everything but. Binders, house shoes - you name it... I'm not to be trusted in these stores but I suppose I wanted to give my credit cards a workout. Pressure cookers are great. They are time saving and cook food faster - snapped one up here. Espresso machine? Why not!! I don't really watch TV but those are good to have around too. Very helpful staff and pleasant shopping experience this evening. No madness and all the good stuff still seemed to be in stock. On the endcaps prices were shockingly low. A small LED TV for $98... so I wandered in the electronics department to see what else they had. Wow!! A TV so large I could barely shove it in Girlfriends Accord. And it was so cheap I felt as though I practically stole it. Walmart is usually such an unpleasant experience and one needs to walk in with padded protective gear - I'm always so surprised that one of its key competitors can be such a sharp contrast for the experience of a shopper. read more

Aggressive solicitors always outside at the entry. They shout at you as soon as they see you get out of the car. Inside there are always long lines, the fitting rooms are a mess and many (not all) of the employees have very bad customer service skills. I drive all the way the Albany instead or order from Amazon. read more

So when I come to visit our kids in Oakland, I always have to make a trip to this target in Alameda. This is one of my favorite Targets. Whoever the buyer for this store is excellent. They always have a great variety of women's clothing that we don't have in SoCal. I was able to pick up some really cool lounge wear and sweats for my son and daughter. Store is always well stocked and staff is friendly. read more

Pros The store itself isn't bad, and is your typical Target. Cons Too many employees do not speak English. This problem is huge if you are shopping in the early hours and need assistance. This store relies way too much on self checkout. Lack of professionalism amongst employees - saggy pants, on cellphones ignoring customers, having personal conversations between employees instead of offering assistance. Just left the most disgusting bathroom experience I've ever had in my life at this Target. The FAMILY bathroom was DISGUSTING!!!! There was literally pee ALL over the floor and several DIRTY DIAPERS. I've been to cleaner bathrooms at gas stations. This is 100% unacceptable. How Target can make BILLIONS of dollars and not see fit to make sure their bathrooms are cleans blows my mind!!!! I will no longer be shopping at this Target, I highly recommend anyone reading this doesn't either. read more

I recently bought my daughter a christmas dress by cat and Jack it's really cute but unfortunately the plastic seam on the inside of the dress left a deep cut on her face upon taking the dress off. So she had to take santa pictures with a scratch mark on her face. I'm really disappointed in the quality. read more

Since moving to Alameda from Tracy, CA to my dismay it shocks me that everytime I go to THAT Target their shelves are almost bare! It doesn't matter what time of day or night. So inconvenient and so tacky. When I walk on to other Targets it's nice and bright and fully stocked! Even the frozen food section is bare. Is there something going on with deliveries? I had a really nice experience at Target Alameda yesterday. I was trying to find Christmas tree lights and everyone was out of them. It was late, I needed to get home, but I thought I'd give it one more try, so went to Target. As soon as I walked in a very nice man saw me looking around, asked me what I was looking for, and pointed me in the right direction. But when I got there, no lights! I looked all around and found a staffer, who told me they were all out, but showed me a shopping cart filled with a mountain of returns and said there might be some in there. He helped me start digging through it. Two guys who also were looking for lights joined us, and we found several boxes of lights! Then I went to the checkout stands and the same guy who had greeted me when I entered came up and pointed me to the checkout stand with the shortest line! Really great service! Thank you, Target! Best target in East Bay Area!! It's always well stocked, staff are very friendly and helpful. My bf and I have been doing nightly target therapeutic strolls on weekdays. I feel so refreshed and relieved from stress after going to a target. Whether it's for new seasonal products, board games, electronics, food sections, there are so many things to browse! I have been boycotting War-Mart for nearly twenty years yet there are times when I need a big all in one store & that's when I head to Target. This need recently arose so headed to Target in Alameda to pick up some long underwear & sweatpants to get me through the cold months of winter that we are currently in. The long underwear & sweatpants have been a much needed addition to my wardrobe yet the coolest thing about my recent visit to the Alameda Target was scoping out their natural food products. I don't know if it is a California thing or if all Targets have improved like this as I saw many vegan products including: Vega protein powder, Vega protein bars, Goji berries, Coconut Almond Milk, Ben & Jerry's Vegan Ice Cream, Amy's Organic Soups, Good Quality Granola, & minimally processed Lara bars. Kudos for a mainstream chain like Target for embracing the good stuff. They even had Meyer's cleaning products. While I tend to do most of my grocery shopping at Rainbow Grocery in San Francisco, Berkeley Bowl, & Alameda Natural Grocery I think that it is awesome that everyday people have access to quality vegan products & natural foods. This is close to many food places. The clothes in active wear was scrambled from everyone going through it but they have everything I needed and more obviously there's plenty of parking. There's a person in the front giving masks and providing hand sanitizer. Staff was friendly. read more

The target experience has gone down hill and what use to be a pleasant shopping experience has been destroyed by the lack of service. Trying to purchase locked items up because of theft is not their fault, but what does suck is hitting those red sensors for 20 minutes and no one shows up! Had multiple red employees walk by and ignore me, one claimed she was on a break and the other said she didn't have a key! Finally approached the manager and she seemed annoyed. Then you have to wait in line for another 20 minutes as they have three cashiers open and the self checkout line is just as bad! If they do not upgrade their employee base they are going to become another of those chains that go under! read more

Target is usually always a wonderful experience, whether you have a reason to be there or not! This location was no different. I went in for a return and ended up having a fun conversation with the cashier, no qualms about what I was returning or why I was returning it. Really it was just like chatting with an old friend and an experience I was not expecting! Kudos on Target for putting their best on the lines in what could be a frustrating or annoying situation! And then of course I had to walk through the rest of the store. Of course it was approaching 90 degrees out and the free A/C was a wonderful break from the California sun, but I also did need a few things like a fan for starters. Huge location, like a super Target but not run like one. It's neat, clean, and you see workers on the hard and soft lines constantly working and perfecting things, not just milling around and chatting with each other. Love this location, excellent service, and I will gladly travel just to have a good time shopping here! read more

As I typically do, I went to Customer Service to have an Associate do the online price check. I was fortunate enough to get Mirvet, and this lady had such a nice, kind and professional demeanor that I was floored! She even asked me how my day was going. I mean, who does that in Target? She really made my day because I was feeling blah from being secluded indoors for so long with minimal human contact. Everything was just so human and pleasant with her. She should train others in CS because I've had some jacked up previous experiences in that store with CS associates. Thank you Mirvet for making my simple day simply amazing! read more

I'm disgusted With Covid-19 this store it open WELL ABOVE the 20% capacity! The parking lot is packed and they're just letting everyone walk in and out; No lines. They didn't even supply customers with hand sanitizer before walking in. NO modification has been made, what so ever; admits the bay around being @ below 15% ICU levels. This target seemed like a breeding ground for Covid. read more

This used to be an amazing location but things have gotten pretty awful over the last few years. Lines are so long it's not worth completing a purchase. Armed guards and everything in hygiene is still locked up. More and more unstable people coming into the store and causing issues. It's sad really. read more

This is the best and ONLY Target I will shop at on the east bay side. Good location and area, tons of parking, it's not a dumpy mess inside the store, and I feel safe shopping here at 10 pm if I need to. :D Just kidding, i'm from Oakland so i'll shop whenever time. Good customer service and they always stock up their inventory if low. Nice little Starbucks inside if you need a pick me up before/after shopping. Love their $1 aisle. read more

I have been waiting patiently for this Target store to open since about a year ago. My husband and I are very, very ecstatic that Alameda finally has landed a Target store. There will be no more driving to either the Target (Bayfair) in San Leandro or the one in Emeryville to shop and to pay my Target bill. This is so convenient and close to my home. I am very impressed with the layout of this huge store - it's clean, well-organized and people friendly. The employees were very helpful and did not hesitate to offer any assistance. Customer service was definitely top notch and there were no complaints from us. The parking is much better than Emeryville; however, it would be helpful if they had more handicap parking spaces. My husband and I did offer a few of the employees a suggestion and i.e. to keep the Prilosec and Sudafed under lock and key in display cases for preventive and secured measures. They carried my favorite popcorn - Angie's Popcorn @ $3.29 a bag compared to $3.49 @ Nob Hill and $3.79 @ Walgreens (9th & Market in SF). A bottle (750 ml) of Jose Cuervo was going @ $13.99 compared to $19.99 @ Nob Hill. I have to chuckle because there was a bottle of Firecracker wine going for $9.99 - a tropical flavored wine of pineapple and mango. Other amenities in the store are a cafe, Pizza Hut and Starbucks. Definitely, there will be returned trips to this store. I just received a flyer for $5.00 off purchase of $50 or more (expires 10/21/2013) in the mail this afternoon. Okay, I just noted that the wrong zip code has been entered on this Target. The zip code, 94710, is in Berkeley. I don't know how I just noticed this but this Target charges way more compared to other Targets and what the price reflects on their app... Although this isn't for ALL items, most items are at least $1 more than stated online/on their app. I'm genuinely confused because I noticed this before COVID but it was only a dollar so I didn't think much of it but now they're just straight up ripping people off. The money thing is one thing (esp when you go here often) but it's the principle, you don't honor a different price assuming people won't notice. I attached two examples below but I can ensure you every single item is marked up in the store. You're better off ordering online or ordering for drive up since they will honor the online pricing. Never going to shop in person until they fix this issue. Giving two stars because the employees are hardworking and I appreciate their work during this time but management or corporate has some explanation to do. read more

Don't buy video games here. If you buy a game and it's broken and try to exchange the game, but they're out of stock, they will not hold any copies for you, they will not extend the return policy, they will not let you get a game they do have in stock, and they won't let you order one online. Basically if they sell you a defective product, they won't help you in any circumstances, including the corona shelter in place order, to help you get a properly working product. Target should be ashamed. Just buy games at Best Buy, they're a lot more helpful in terms of return and exchange policy. read more
