It says "target grocery" on my map. The food options are extremely limited. They have at best 1/3 of the options as a standard target. There's another regular sized target 3 miles down the road. This maybe a smaller Target but I am still able to get everything in need here. There's no Starbucks inside but there's a starbucks already at the other corner of this mall. The employees are always nice and I never had any issues with the drive up service. I always come here for bread and yogurt and they are always well stocked. I went to Target today to pick up a few things and I only brought my Target card which embarrassingly enough wasn't working once I got to the checkout. But a very nice young man named Jordan helped me set up my Samsung wallet so I could pay with my phone. (Usually I'd ask one of my kids to do that for me lol)! Had a drive up pickup bc it was pouring rain and all the closer locations were out of stock so I resorted to Westlake despite the fact that I can't stand the parking situation here. Guest Services is severely understaffed and sorely undertrained in providing GUESTS SERVICE. My drive up order comes out after lengthy delays and IT'S THE WRONG ITEMS. Wrong size on 1 item, wrong color on the other item. Now I gotta go inside anyway to make the exchange FOR WHAT I ACTUALLY ORDERED and the lady in guest services who's assisting me keeps telling me the items can't be found using my receipt barcode. YA BC AS I STATED TWICE NOW, YALL GAVE ME THE *INCORRECT* ITEMS so the product doesn't match my order. Im holding out my phone to show her the correct DPCI # and pics of what I paid for and she's stuck in the loop of it not matching the two things I need exchanged / returned. She's additionally frazzled bc she was extremely worried about being penalized for missing her break. And she wanted to pass me off mid-transaction to another employee rather than finishing up with me. No ma'am we're in this together and we clearly both got other ish to do so let's wrap it up. Expeditiously. I understand the pressure she must be under from Management but it made for an unfriendly customer experience on top of NOT COMPREHENDING what I repeatedly tried to communicate. Convenient location which opens on Christmas Eve. I have enjoyed some post-holiday promos. This is not a giant Target store but a tiny one. Sometimes you need to check with the staff for the availability of items. A plus is give to the cleanliness of the washroom. Awesome. read more

This Target is very small . You need to know what they have and what they do not have , then you can decide if you want to go there or not . So don't judge them if they don't have all the items you need . The employees are super nice and helpful . They are pretty fast and efficient. I have been here several times and so far I every time I had a positive experience. Even one time I purchased an item from another bigger Target and I figured I don't need it. as I was close to this location I wanted to return it here . I was not sure if they are going to accept it or not since I was %100 sure that they are not carrying the item. But when I went to their customer service , very gently they checked the package and refund my money without a question. This is one of cleanest Targets I have ever been also . Ok they're not all the same. You've been to one Target you've been to them all. I'm happy to report isn't your standard Target. First it's two stories. Nothing special I've seen two stories Targets in San Diego Mission valley (I know you read the review). But have you seen the floor space so small? Really walking one end of the store to the opposite side is like 20 steps. In a normal Target, 20 steps takes you to the end of just one of the row. If this Target was a car rental it would be classified as a compact. Both floors are that small. You have to take the elevator with your cart because there's no room for a shopping cart conveyor. Yes they still have a clothing section and groceries and small appliances. And a small aisle for toys vice 10 huge aisles like all the other Targets. Overall four stars. I have no clue why I think this Targets is so cool. It just is. And no fifth star because it's so small they just don't have a huge selection. Now excuse me, time to explore the mall. M read more

This target is ridiculously small. It has an upstairs and a downstairs but even with both levels it's unbelievably tiny. Definitely not what you would expect from a Target not sure even why they bothered with this location. I guess the only thing positive you can say about this target is the people that work there are friendly and explained how to get to a real Target! read more

Came here and store still has a TJ Maxx feel to it. Every corner that I once shopped primarily at TJ Maxx to find like the men's department, I would go and be disappointed. It's another City Target so much smaller than typical Target locations. read more

NOT WORTH GOING TO. (No assistance and inexperienced employees) I picked a few items on the 2nd floor before doing groceries and wanted to see if they had PS5 controllers on stock. They did and were locked as they should be. I looked around for assistance and even stood near the counter where it's labeled as the checkout area for the electronics. A girl made eye contact with me and swiftly went down the escalator before I even had the chance to speak up. I looked around for another person, but they were nowhere to be found. I decided that it wasn't worth waiting anymore and headed towards the elevator to do grocery shopping. I made my way past the escalator going up the 2nd floor and saw another employee. At this point, I didn't want to bother asking for assistance because I was no longer in the mood. I waited for the elevator and the same employee showed up behind me and asked if he could get in (when he just arrived upstairs...). At this point, I realized that they may have mistaken me for a thief. My anxiety and embarassment kicked in but I didn't want them to get the wrong impression. This is also the first time I've ever had someone follow me for being a suspect when I have not done anything wrong. Despite the situation and my anxiety, I somehow got my grocery shopping done and waited for someone to help me out at the register. This time a different employee spoke to me and asked if I needed help with self check out. I told her I didn't but I wanted to let her know what I had experienced. She kept apologizing on behalf of her coworkers while she was checking out my items. I mentioned that this situation would have been avoided if someone was available at the electronics section. I have been a retail employee for several years and I was taught that if someone looks suspicious, you first ask if they need assistance. That way you can see what their intentions are first instead of just assuming things in your head. Now, I highly suggest avoiding this Target unless it's an emergency. Even then, there is Walgreens next door and they handle these situations better than Westlake Target. It is better to drive 10 or 15 mins to Serramonte or Colma and they have bigger Targets with more items and more employees who are available to assist you. read more

If it wasn't for jasmine maybe it would be 3 stars at best for the check out experience! Nobody expect you to want to them to check out for you! You must use self service it seems! Spot it clean and surprisingly had enough stuff. They close early! They will not be able to compete with Trader Joe's or Walgreens next door when Walgreens stay open 24/7 and trader Joe's has similar hours of operation but with better produce! I bought a gift card here for Christmas. Someone, I assume a target employee, stole the number and disabled the physical card before I bought it. When my mom opened it, four of the numbers had been scratched out and the whole balance ($200) had been spent at target.com. 4 months later I am still getting the run around from the card company and Target has washed their hands of the issue completely and I'm out 200 dollars. Hell no (ZERO stars), never going back to this Target ever again. I would rather shop at Walgreen's if I am ever in the area. The "kids" were too busy socializing rather than jumping to help customers. I was with my elderly mother and I kept calling one of the employees to help my mom. They may as well work for their paycheck instead of chit-chatting as it isn't my job to assist my mom on how to self-check. This Asian girl had an attitude when I continued to call her over for assistance. Hey, it's not my problem you don't want to work. This Target is so small they won't even need employees working at the Westlake Center location. All they need is someone to open/close the store and someone to assist customers (i.e., the elderly) who do not know how to self-check. NO BUENO Westlake Target. The good thing about this Target is that when I first noticed they were planning to open one here, I thought that for sure it would create a real problem finding parking in a parking lot that was already almost packed and would have made it hard for me to park when I shop at Walgreens which I shop at almost daily, but honestly it has not created any problem with the parking. I also like how the young people at the door actually greet each shopper walking in and even say goodbye as you leave. They have employees wiping down the shopping baskets and the self checkouts; literally after each use. Most of the employees here seem to be well trained and polite, but I have also ran into some rude ones as well. I don't really care for the two story layout in which you need to go up an escalator for certain items, but that is how the building was designed originally for TJ Max. I guess for one of the smaller sized Targets, it's bigger than other small targets like the one at Stonestown but still doesn't compare to big Target stores like in Colma. One thing that annoys me though is their poorly thought out and rarely enforced "one item 'per guest' policy" on scarce and hard to find items lately. Firstly they don't have enough little signs that indicate which items are limited to "One per guest" or they either fall off or people pull them down. Most stores are limiting toilet paper to one or two per, but it seems like with many other items you have to guess which ones are limited. The other day I found Lysol spray which I could not find for like over a month! I grabbed the last two, as they were in boxes that were emptied due to people grabbing them all up, but looked like they had dozens and dozens earlier that day and I even saw several people out in front who had multiple cans in their shopping cart; after shopping. I get up to the self checkout and one of the employees asks me if I'm alone or do I have another "guest" with me. I say no and she grabbed one can right out of my basket and almost in an accusation tells "Lysol is one per guest" and takes it into the back behind costumer service. I wasn't trying to be sneaky or surreptitious, it just wasn't clear and I saw no conspicuously placed sign posted in that section, even though I looked for one. If anything the rule should be "One item per household" and not "per guest." Other people can walk in with a group of five people and see a hard to find item and buy five cans, but I who live with and take care of my 83 year old mother who has a plethora of health issues; including respiratory problems, can only buy one because she rarely even leaves the house other than to go to a doctors appointment and can't go shopping with me? This is extremely annoying and has flawed, poorly thought out logic to it. I suppose I could stand there and try to explain to the employee but I doubt I would have been listened to. read more

Terrible. No employees available for assistance when you need one. The employee that's sitting out front where the entrance is had no mask on while there was a sign posted out front that due to county mandate, masks are required in the store yet it's ok for an employee to not have one on? He was busy chatting with his friend that he wasn't paying attention to anyone at all. Even with the county mask mandate for indoor, there were still people walking around without any masks.
